It’s really hard to get a grasp on all these guys. All had different scenarios going on in thier games. I’d say Darnold had both 2’s and 3’s to work with so he had the most varied scenario. Rosen looked like he was with some 1’s, mostly 2’s. But he also had the most vanilla gameplan so where do you go with that. Allen was thrown into a tire fire. Baker had had the most opportunity to play I would say and I think he looked the best overall. Weirdly, I’d rank thier first game performances in the same order they were drafted.

This is how I feel after 3 minutes of watching ESPN. Every time.

Sam did look good on that first series. He came back to earth when he was with the 3’s and the obvious rookie stuff that they all do but he looked solid overall. Atlanta looked like they didn’t even want to play, well until the guys at the end got in there. The announcer crew was over the top fluffing Darnold and that was weird. But overall, I’d like to see Darnold become something mostly because he’s not a douche, but also because he can stay in the pocket and that’s good to watch.

Well in this Jets game the announcers just got done blowing Darnold for like 5 minutes and Darnold immediately chucks up a hilarious miscommunication ball. The ball was 10’ behind the receiver and the receiver kept running like he was tracking it down. Hilarious.

All these qbs have some kind of knock on them. Hard to find a qb in the leave that that doesn’t. It looks like AJ is the man here which is not surprising. Probably best to keep Nate at 2 this year, it’s hard to justify only having 2. I think Allen is showing he’s going to be something special and he’s not this lost cause people seem to want him to be, but he’s not ready yet.
