  1. Tuel did all of this because he could. As evidence from training camp, he can't do all of this under a blitz. That's the problem. Please hold off on EJ not going downfield until we see him in a game where the play call let's him go downfield. Hackett all but confirmed this himself after the Colts game. If Tuel "holds off on the TE" like that (if he actually did just that) in a real game, he will end up crawling off the field babbling about Pokemon cards. He does hold the ball a bit too much. This all is not fair to Jeff Tuel, BTW, who does look good. It's looking more and more like EJ was stuck with all the heavy lifting (thanks to a rubber mat), while Tuel got to coast and look pretty for the call-in radio tards. But the fact that Tuel might be a little beyond playing in garbage time, no blitz late game pre-season is freaking awesome.
  2. Sorry everyone, I went to the link but had to click on "Bigoted !@#$ makes the best barbecue" instead.
  3. Miami always had its hands tied when it came to looking tough, what with the kind of dayware resembling what one would buy at Ron-Jons when they realized they arrived at vacation without enough swimwear, but they always found a way. The large block lettering and the real football striping on the sleeves they sported back in the day, and the gray U-bar face masks, they made seaweed and tangelo actually look tough, even with a Minnow caught in a net stuck on the sides of thier helmet. Since then, the Miami organization has done nothing but sap the tough out of thier clothes, which is a shame.
  4. Thanks Astrobot. Sounds like Tuel is still having trouble with blitzes, Esp. Safety blitzes. Seems to be a theme setting up here, which is disappointing because he throws so well. Him not facing any blitz against Indy didn't help either. I like how he looks but he's going nowhere until he improves on this.
  5. Right now, EJ throws everything quick and effortlessly, improves on his mistakes, gets better during games(!), is a leader and can run. Tuel has proven out so far to be found money, he's no longer just a UFA. We are all going through uncharted territory now where we have two young QB's with upside. This doesn't happen in Buffalo. I still need Kolb to come through though, hard to explain, but we do need him. Oh, And the coaching is way better. Way better. It will not always be pretty this year, but I say we all sit back and enjoy this ride. They may not win for a while yet, It's like we're back in the NFL again. Welcome back, everyone.
  6. No, that's not it, and I am looking for it. As I recall, for example, Atlanta is given something like a 400 square mile area for its home territory where Buffalo is given something very low, like 50 miles. Not sure the exact numbers. I have to find the source.
  7. With a new QB, lots of rookies and new coaching, you really can't rate the team any higher at this point in time. All will change soon.
  8. I guess I'm open to a "Phil as a D-Bag" meme, but some proof would be needed first.
  9. I kinda recall an article illustrating how, when you look at what the NFL considers each team's "home territory" most every other team's home territory is 2-3 times larger than what Buffalo can call thier "home territory". If Bufflalo could expand thier territory out to areas comparable to te other teams, then Buffalo would become a mid-sized market, rather than te 2nd smallest. Buffalo gets no favors. I also recall how the issue is not necessarily that there is no corporate support to have, but rather that corporations "don't" support the team like they do in most other areas. I would suggest that Buffalo's real issues are corporate dormancy and "actual" versus "official" market size.
  10. (Homer Simpson): Ha ha. I get jokes.
  11. This sounds like one of those things a typical pro OL would B word about at work- "how come these mensans never try moving us around in case someone gets hurt?" Like something Marrone himself may have thought when he was playing OL..
  12. I did watch. I even saw a WR trip over a yard line
  13. The Colts absolutely did that to get Luck.
  14. Da'Rick Rogers makes the 53 man roster- for another NFL team.
  15. Lets hope Carrington brings it this year. Then work on finding Byrd and Carrington's "undisclosed location". J/k
  16. I guess Carrington will go MIA in January. Shoot me.
  17. I have a fondness for that pic of SJ sitting in the end zone with the football in front of him on the ground. Ok that's silly but I like SJ on the front page.
  18. I guess that I guess that's my point at the end of the day. I'd like to see all three play against the ones this preseason.
  19. I blame White Shoes Johnson for all of this.
  20. The fact that the federal government has to get its hands on tips is creepy.
  21. Turned on the radio(mistake) and heard the afternoon guys on 550 AM talking about how much Tuel outplayed EJ. Then I stuck my head in an oven. Jeezus. Tuel does throw a sweet football though. Very evident watching him at camp. Someday He's going to make hundreds of dollars at the football thing.
  22. Strip clubs in Niagara Falls. I'm sure that counts
