  1. Schobel is a seasoned vet, who has always managed to get into shape and is intelligent to know the play book. I agree it is likely he will retire, but if he doesn't I would be he is a positive addition (as always) and will know the play book. His history gives no reason to suspect otherwise.
  2. Who says they are interested at all? Even Schobel downplayed it. He may not want to play there, when push comes to shove.
  3. More likely he wanted an extra day off during the week, to spend in Houston. This probably wouldn't be that big of a deal if Chan wasn't in his first year, trying to establish himself and a new defense. In other words, had Chan been here for a couple of years, this might not even come to light, as they would likely accommodate Schobel. (I am speculating, of course.) I can understand Schobel's position, as well as the Bills'. It just may be the right time for him to retire. If it takes him another few weeks to decide, I'm OK with that, too.
  4. Clearly he paid better attention than you in his English classes.
  5. Pretty good list, although I would have preferred they list only players who are no longer playing. Alex Ovechkin? Really? I'm not saying he isn't great, he clearly is. But he's very early in his career. Not exactly in the spirit of a list like that, IMO. Archie Manning belongs on that list, too.
  6. That's what she said.
  7. That could be quite frustrating when it was your last quarter/dollar/whatever. Jack notes that in the vid (which I didn't even notice) people had cups, so maybe it is meant to be used at a location with cups (which solves the sync issue). I want to use my sippy cup!
  8. I got that part. But depending on the age of his primary care physician, what constitutes "younger" may vary. Now after re-reading the OP, I see there were only 3 to choose from (or so it seems).
  9. Got it. Not sure what "coin operated" has to do with the first question. My guess is the drink pours into a cup, which the machine drops into the dispenser area, just like the drink machines of days gone by. No?
  10. I didn't see anything in Fla. Did I miss something?
  11. I applaud Tim for going beyond what most reporters would do to get a good story about a very interesting athlete. And anyone who thinks meditation is "mental" is a bit shallow, to say the least.
  12. If it can spit out sugarless flavored ice tea, or something else that is good to mix with my "road vodka" it sounds like a winner to me!
  13. Worst. Thread. Ever.
  14. I'm confused. How old was the doctor you told you wanted "a younger doctor"?
  15. Walter Becker's "11 Tracks of Whack". It was so different from what I expected, I really didn't give it a chance. It is pretty brilliant, actually, but not as good as his 2008 release "Circus Money", which also takes a while to "get".
  16. Too bad, as Schobel had a decent year last year. But I really don't see anything in his remarks that suggest he wants to play somewhere else. Where is that coming from?
  17. This would be real nice for the cycle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hkC6Rd88uA
  18. My phone works GREAT! (Unless, of course, if I'm anywhere near a wifi signal.)
  19. Have you considered what might have been Montana's fate had he been drafted by a team that used a vertical passing game, and didn't have a back as friendly to the passing game as Roger Craig, and WRs as adept as Rice, John Taylor, Dwight Clark, etc? Or played for a lesser offensive coach than Bill Walsh? Can you imagine if Joe played for the Saints teams Archie Manning had the displeasure to have lead? It isn't simply about the player. It is also about the context and the player.
  20. This album, first song to last: http://www.amazon.com/Larry-Carlton/dp/B000002PI9
  21. Well, possibly I suppose, unless one of their current QBs works out, or they pick one up, or they draft one next year, etc. But let's say one of the 5th or 6th round QBs turn out to be great. Will passing on them "haunt the franchise for years"?
  22. That's great. And I'm not even stoned.
  23. Wow, that's new! Thanks.
  24. I'll have my face in a few of those in July. With the exception of Unibroue beers, Molson Stock Ale (The Original Blue) may be my favorite Canadian beer. I wish I could get it here.
