MOULDS TO EAGLES FOR OWENS
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Didn't Marv say he only wanted character guys on the team? Don't think TO fits that definition...at least Moulds has been a character guy. -
LeBeau as HC, Bates as DC & Saunders as OC
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I remember, LeBeau didn't do that great at Cinci when they were in a rebuilding mode. -
It was disappointing to see Mularkey start Holcomb over JP. At least I was looking forward to see how the kid did in the cold. Remember, the last game he played, he said it was the first time he ever played in the snow, and it didn't go too well. I was really surprised they didn't start him then have an open competition come spring.

A Few Thoughts About The Game.....
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
8) Check out my tone here. I am NOT getting nasty, but you people who want to keep Moulds are simply wrong. He can catch passes that are thrown right to him, but that is about all. He is NOT a #1 receiver. He is past his prime and declining before our eyes. 10.85 million in 06? Are you kidding me? No, I would prefer the 5 plus million dollar cap room, thank you very much. Definitely agree Moulds is not a 10.65 guy, but I think if we get rid of him, we become the converse of the Peerless Price situation. Neither Evans or Parrish are the strong over-the-middle, tough third-down guys which Moulds still is that draws the extra coverage. My guess, however, is he wants to win now, so he won't renegotiate his deal at all and force the Bills to cut him. -
Positives: Watching the game here in Tampa makes me miss the snow of Buffalo!
-
The last few games, Moulds has been the "go to" guy. He's still the #1 receiver insofar as coverage is concerned, simply because he's not a speed/finesse guy like Evans and Parrish will be. Understand his cap situation next year, but if he goes, Evans/Parrish could result in a Peerless Price situation in reverse. It seems we're at the point of the game where we need Moulds and those 5-15 yard catches he's known for.

Agreed the patdowns aren't necessarily effective, but in my mind, if it can pose some type of deterrent they're worthwhile continuing. It's funny, but they don't use a metal wand, just the patdown. I live down in Tampa where this thing has come up. The person doing it is a high school civics teacher who wants to set the example for his class. He claims since this was never part of the "agreement" on this year's season tickets, he feels it's an infringement on his rights and arbitrary. I'd like to see the NFL state if there are no patdowns, the team forfeits the game. This guy would be tarred and feathered.

You're right, I forgot about the 2002 game. I remember the 1998 was in San Diego because I was at it and was amazed at the amount of Bills' fans there, must have been about 10K. Either way, Rob J and Flutie were both factors in both games!
-
If you remember, the last game in San Diego, Rob Johnson got hurt and Flutie came in near the end of the game, a precursor to the rest of the season. Out of all the awfulness of this game, at least we know to this point of his career, JP isn't Rob Johnson. JP's performance today has actually been one of the better things I've seen on the field. With the exception of the one bad interception, and in light of how bad our line is and the dropped passes, his game today was acceptable.

It was nice to see Lindell make a long kick with some pressure. If I had a choice, I'd still take Scott Norwood over Lindell!

I was nervous, but I figured they'd pull it out on another Miami mistake, vice the Bills scoring a responding touchdown. I'm just glad they won the game.

Ransom observations on the game
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"McGee - his return was amazing for the most part, but didn't it look like he was TRYING to get tackled at the end? Running around the guy laying on the ground should've been the easiest part of the return - WTF." It looked like McGee was trying to jump over the last couple of guys...I would bet his legs were like lead at that time. -
One and only gameday thread!
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think what has been the biggest frustration about the season this year was the "great defense" needed Losman only not lose a game. It's pretty clear teh defense just isn't doing it. Penalties at the worst time, allowing 3&long conversions, etc. There was one stat showing for the seven trips into the red zone against the Bills, teams got six TD and one FG. That's just not going to cut it. I do agree with the commentary on the board about putting Holcomb in. They should have just stuck with Losman and let him finish it out. I don't think the playcalling game him a chance to manage the game. Not sure why they didn't just keep going to Willis, he was running well today. -
Bills fans are the greatest fans, my A$$!!!!
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I noticed people leaving as well, and with a shot to at least tie the game. I live in Tampa and these fans here are the worst bandwagoners. Last week, people were leaving in the third quarter! Not sure how you can pay a couple hundred dollars to go to the game and leave, especially with the chance of winning. Virtually all the Bills fans there stayed until the end. It seems the die hard Bills fans are the people who live outside Buffalo! -
This is a 6-10 Team This Year
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some observations from the game By the middle of the third quarter, Sam Adams was shot...he was out more than in and could barely make it off the field By the end of the third quarter, the body language of the team showed they knew it was over Tampa Bay is not that bad of a place for opposing teams, until Tampa starts to take a lead and the crowd feels the team will win. It was relatively quiet the first half. The Ralph is two-three time louder. Losman was BAD. I was in the nose bleeds and you can see the entire field like the film rooms can. His throws weren't even close and the worst part was he had time to make a number of throws. -
Back From Game - A Wakeup Call For Our Fans
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shifting topics......A couple of the coaching decisions were questionable. I still couldn't fathom the pitch/lateral/pass to Shaud Williams on 3rd and one in the fourth quarter. That kind of play is nice when you're leading in a game, but when you're down, you'd think they'd just play it as a straight run. I know they weren't getting much on direct runs, but with all the possible things that could wrong....which did. -
Did I hear this correctly? I'm Sorry
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I'm not a huge fan of his, Jerry Sullivan had a great column today in the News discussing how Bledsoe has always been simply an average QB. If you look at his stats and what they're trying to do with the gameplan this year, it's all designed to simply make him "not lose the game for us." This seems to be what we saw today. I like Drew as a guy a lot, and I was a backer of him up to this year. However, the mistakes he has been making, particularly a couple of the interceptions today, has almost put him into the "journeyman" category. It is kind of painful to watch because he is such a good guy. -
Sam Adams benched apparently
Saudi Arabia Rob replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. Clearly he deserved the benching, don't know if I's want to get in a fight with Krumrie. -

I've been watching all the games and I think you're off on Henry. He still pounds it in there and once he breaks that initial contact, he's done well. McGahee still isn't back to where he was. On the one play in the fourth, he had one guy to beat to the end zone, but he didn't have a burst yet. I still think he need more time. Let's just hope they can coexist.
