Von Miller Tre White Dawson Knox In my eyes, you can do one of three things: 1) Ride them out, be mediocre because you don't have any cap space to work with, pray to God you get some kind of production out of them 2) Burn them all after this season, eat the same cap ***** sandwich and emerge in a much healthier place in 2025 3) Cut two of three of them, triage-style, still eat the cap ***** sandwich and be better off in 2025 Are there any other options out there? I'm happy to hear them.

Exactemente. This team is *****. Short-and-medium term *****. It would probably be better to blow it up and start from scratch than gimp through a defensive rebuild, take a 3-4 win season next year and emerge in 2025 in a much more tenable position.

some perspective on a down season
Pine Barrens Mafia replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Odd that the Chiefs haven't had a down season in the time that mahomes has been there -
hate to break it to you, this IS a drought-level team atm

It's also a talent issue, which i doubt will be resolved in the offseason. I've said it elsewhere, people had better get used to the idea that this team is floating around .500 for the next few years if no substantive changes are made in the administration of this team (FO and coaching). I've got no faith that these guys will be able to wrangle themselves out of the cap hell that bringing in 8 billion year old Von Miller caused. That's an albatross that'll take them both down, imo

he's like a whipped dog. they've been hammering on him since he was a rookie not to run, not to play loose. stay within structure, and he's JUST NOT THAT KIND OF A QB.
-
Did he though? He's never been fantastic at reading defenses pre-snap
-
This is why I'm arguing for a total reset. This team is staring down the very real barrel of .500-ish football for this season, next and possibly the year after.
-
Yup. I've given up on him growing beyond what he is.
-
Agree to disagree. Josh has the physical tools to be best all-time. Mentally, he's not it, though.
-
Exactly. Josh is a good QB. He's not GREAT, but he has stretches where he is. Just hasn't happened lately.
-
No, I won't. I see the writing on the wall. I just said I think they'll win 8.
-
I never, ever, EVER want to go back to another extended stretch of near .500 football, no matter what it takes. I want this team to either be excellent, or dreadful.
-
Then I say enjoy the mediocre future. Because that's what's on the horizon. I'll say the bills win 8 this year. Then the rationale will be "oh the injuries." So they'll bring McDermott and beane back. Then they'll probably draft a CB and Safety in the first couple rounds and we'll start all over with another 8-9 win season next year. That's not unrealistic

I'm not locked on Williams.
-
I'm not just talking about this game.
-
Is it really? Because I think blame for this burning dumpster fire if a season is shared across the board Melon farmer, now a veteran player, still makes the same boneheaded decisions.
-
My plan: trade Allen to Chicago for their two first, a second an next year's first. Fire the entire administration and start over. Because let's face it. They're a dead team walking short and medium term.

Dolphins losing was a plus, what are you on about
