  1. This is weird. We actually agree on something. The uniparty establishment has failed. Much of this post sounds eerily similar to how I've felt about the Republican establishment for the better part of 2 decades I too believe the establishment needs burning down, through force if necessary. Of course our end games are different, but it's refreshing to see an honest leftist for a change.
  2. I'd like to give props to @Hedge who called all these shenanigans WAY back when.
  3. I harbor no illusions that the controls currently in place will continue to stay in place. I anticipate that a nationwide lockdown is incoming. Perhaps within the next week and a half.
  4. I've heard a LOT of people around here clamoring for a NATIONAL lockdown. That would be a grievous error.
  5. No. I'd have some common sense measures in place REGIONAL in nature. For example. Full quarantine of NYC, but not necessarily of, say, Boise Idaho.
  6. I wouldn't go full ###### on the lockdowns till June, for one thing.
  7. You're right, it isn't. But we CAN minimize it.
  8. You're right. BUt having a non-functional economy kills people as well. Have a look at mortality rates during the Great Depression to have a look at our future.
  9. Realists? The cure is definitely worse than the disease.
  10. Agreed. I'd advocate kicking them out of the WTO and imposing stiff fines on American companies that do business there and with China.
  11. Just popping in to say ***** China.
  12. If she were trapped in a burning car I wouldn't help.
  13. Democratic Party faithful at their finest.
  14. That's similar to a moderately severe flu tally. 100-200k. Is it worth the long-term damage to the economy? I remain unconvinced.
  15. There may have been. But don't think they don't bow to political pressure, either. Trump's in a no-win situation here. So let's make it worse, right?
  16. Purely political pressure. If he doesn't extend the guidelines, the shrill voices escalate to a fever pitch. In time, I'm confident I'll be proven right when the economy swirls the hopper. Of course, that's exactly what the opposition wants in an election year.
  17. Question is: What did those...people... do with all that stuff?
  18. I've said it since day one: The cure is worse than the disease. The shamers are predictable however. "YOU'RE CHOOSING THE STOCK MARKET OVER LIVES!!"
  19. You're an ass. With a hat on it.
  20. There are options, yes. But you'll excuse me if I don't trust the government to have the purest of intentions. Especially one run by Wild Bill DeBlasio.
  21. And we all know that most churches have unlimited funds and the loss of their building wouldn't be the end of a given congregation, right? Come on man. Common sense.
  22. No, but I AM saying it's a ridiculous overreach to suggest that places of worship should be PERMANENTLY shut down as a punishment. I don't think that's at all unreasonable.
  23. Really? Have a look at Cuomo's response to Trump talking about locking down NYS.
