1. Are you done?  I am not sure what that rant is about, all I did was phrase what I thought was a simple question:

Why don't they just not watch what they don't like?

What is the goal of pressuring advertisers if not to keep whatever kind of entertainment they object to out of the market for everyone, even those who want to see it?

I have no problem at all with these groups coming up with their own "reviews" for those interested to consult.  Telling potential audiences that you saw the movie and for whatever reason think it stinks is a far cry from trying to scare the movie right off the screens from the git go.  One lets those who want to see it to see it and those don't to not see it.  The other takes that choice away from everyone.

Your friends at PETA do it all the time with people who wear fur coats, only they use cans of paint and firebombs.

  2. No, the main reason they were purged is because they got too big for their britches.  The racial philosophy and politics of the Nazi party was dangerous BS...but it was fundamentally BS.  The real motivations behind the party politics were almost universally about power, not race.  The SA simply became too powerful an arm to be tolerated, particularly by the Wehrmacht...so Hitler bought the Army's acceptance of Nazi rule by doing away with the SA.

    131119

Then you totally dicsount the fact that the SA filled it's ranks with semi-illiterate "beefsteak socialists" that wouldn't toe the line with Nazi racial and political ideologies?

  3. All,

I have not posted in a while...I am a huge Bills fan living in Atlanta with a sister still in Buffalo.

Long story short...her scumbag husband is cheating on her and I need to help her get everything she can in the divorce.  Have you been through divorces?  Anyone have a really good lawyer in the Buffalo area to recommend?  Or even one to recommend staying away from?

Any info is appreciated...she is heartbroken right now.

    131488

I've been thru a divorce, but there's no way I'm gonna help a woman take everythign she can.

    Farg that.

  4. This is a joke right?  You think the ball at the 40 as opposed to the 35 or 30 would have made any difference to Brady?

Do you actually watch the game of football?

    130473

Yes I do, tough guy. That ball would have been at the 15-20 Yd line, NOT the 35 or 30.

    HUGE difference.

  5. Actually, my point was the vast majority of those bozos would have been considered "untermenschen" by the Nazis and killed for it.

    130294

Well, that too. Note that the main reason the SA was purged was not Ernst Rohm's homosexuality or even the Army's distrust for them.

No, the SA was purged because their ranks were "racially impure" whereas the SS was to be a teutonic order, pure in every way.

  6. It appears that it is that special time of the year again, when Bills fans on this board start to root every week against the Patriots and cheer on any team that play them.

Not just cheer, but predict that the Patriots will be killed by that team.

Now I can understand, cheering the Bills on, but KC last night?  I could not believe that several people were predicting that KC would win that game.

It was bad enough during the playoffs when people were posting that the Titans/Colts/Panthers were going to beat the Patriots (especially that stupid post by the Dean that the Panthers play smash mouth football and would beat the Patriots, hey Dean where ever you are, how are the Panthers doing this year  ), but now it is starting in the regular season.

The truth is that the Patriots will make the playoffs, they and the Steelers are the best teams in the AFC and look to meet up in the AFC championship game.  So predict all you want that the Patriots will lose, did not help with the Red Sox.

    130313

But for a kickoff out of bounds (the fix is in) the Panthers would have beaten the pats, you maroon.

  7. LOL! I hate the religous based political ideology of the south and "square states" so, yeah I am a bigot. This is funny.

    130033

Yeah, you HATE people that have religious beliefs.

That makes you a bigot whether you like it or not. Now I realize it's uite fashionable to be a religion hater on the left, but it's still wrong.

  8. I would think they'd be the rule rather than the exception.  Hell, it's not all that much worse than what most Democrats/Republicans say about most Republicans/Democrats, or what most Americans/Muslims say about most Muslims/Americans.

And personally...I find these people somewhat entertaining.  It's always amusing to hear neo-Nazi rhetoric spew from people who are so KzooMike they don't even realize they would have been trucked to Auschwitz and gassed sixty years ago...

    130110

Exactly. These knucklehead White Power people would've met the same fate as the SA goons. They would have been...."replaced".

  9. All of you out of staters that have left the region need to be brought up to speed.  First off, it's not Giambra... I commend him for what he's attempting to do.

What's happened over the past 8 years is that the state has cut their costs by passing their costs on to the counties.  Well, that works in Westchester County where you have lots of income.  But it flat out sucks in upstate where you have a depressed economy, dimished tax base, too much welfare, and noemedicaid payments that are just damn unfair...add to that school budgets that the resident taxpayers bear almost all of the burden and it's just killing us... as an example of this... in Cortland County, in 1994 my home was assesed for 149K and my total taxes for town, county, school were $2900 per year.  Today, working off the same assessed value, they are $7200/year.  I guarantee you my income hasn't doubled in that timeframe.  And now they are going through the process of reasssment and they're sure to go up, because I've installed a new kitchen, windows, roof, entrance way in the past 3 years.

The problem is at the state level.  The most powerful man in NYS is Sheldon Silver... a NYC politician and he heads up the Democrat side of the state legilature.  His republican conterpart is Jim Bruno.  Both are corrupt bastard thugs that have done nothing but raped this state.  Giambra is saying enough is enough to these bastards.  He's saying if you want to mandate that this county must fund medicaid, welfare, etc. then OK, we'll fund them, but there aint no money for anything else so see how you like that and how are you going to look in Albany when you've chosen this over public safety?

So, there you have it... NYS is fugged up.  It will take a situation like california where the voters are going to take down the governor.  that might not be a bad idea... but until Silver and Bruno are taken away in handcuffs and sumarily executed, this state will continue to go down the drain.  I've got 5 more years to consider an early retirement... I've already made my decision... I'm outta here in 2009... and then I'm headed to near Rehobeth, Delaware... over the next year I'm laying the groundwork.

    130235

Love your post: NYS politicians, next to Taxachussets, are the worst in ALL the land.

One caveat: if you're moving to Rehoboth, make sure you bring your vaseline.

  10. I work in Camden.  They are having an especially violent year this year.  The cops have been squeezing the drug dealers out of some of their spots and that is causing some turf wars around town.  Oh well...keep your head down.

    129157

Camden's a stevestojan-hole. Plain and simple. Went there to see the Further Festival a few years back> Driving out of there at night was sketchy at best. I thought someone was gonna get shot outside the parking area at the Tweeter Center.

  11. And you know what, since we're generalizing here, I'd like to put in my two cents:

The north is full of pandering, corrupt, gay-loving liberals that love to hand out their money to lazy, greedy minorities that happen to be their neighbors.

    See, doesn't that sound great?

You're a bigot, slothrop, and the worst kind. a HYPOCRITICAL bigot.

  12. I know I'm usually tough on TD and company, but I definitely like one thing they've done:

    THE SPECIAL TEAMS ARE BACK...

I can't remember a time since tasker and pike called it quits that we had such a dangerous special teams. Kudos to the peeps at OBD for finally getting a ST coach that can coach and players that can stay in their lanes.

  13. I once had a great big dog when I was younger, It was a great dog, played well with others, was a very loyal companion. As the years went by, the dog watched as we had more kids and he accepted the new kids as just another face to lick, and another kid to protect and play with. But as the years went on, age started to take it's toll on my furry buddy, his hips were going, his hearing was going, he started to snap out on those that he had protected and cherished as his own. Some days his nipping and whinning was an all day jag, other times it was just barking and dropping warm "pudding" on the carpet. (anyone who has had an old dog knows the digestive tract is failing at 15 years). I tried everything with this dog, from yelling, to gently talking, to outright banishing him to the yard, nothing seemed to work. His nastiness and cantankerous behavior persisted, he continued to foul up our living space with his gastrointestinal wonders. I would lie in bed late at night hoping that somehow he would get better, or if not maybe he would wander off so that I would not have to do the inevitable. Well, the day finally came when I had discussed the next move with all members of the family, all members agreed that it was too much for us and for our loyal companion to watch him go through anymore of the pain. We made an appointment with the vet, the whole process was streamlined as the vet said " you should say your goodbyes now, you really don't need to be there when it happens", I gently removed his collar, he nuzzled into my neck, he knew the time had come. WHen I returned to the car, I could barely see through the tears, my wife who had been waiting quietly rubbed my back for support.....Perhaps ice's hips or knees are going, maybe his hearing is going, but he is fouling up the place with posts that are generally demeaning to all who disagree with his arguments, maybe it's his turn, someone get his collar

Damn you, ever hear of a paragraph break? :o
