Mike Pettine's Defense fascinating fans & media
Jeebus replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is what I'm very curious to see... Yes Pettine had a top 10 defense, but it was always known as Ryan's D... Same with offense in NO... It's was Peyton's offense... Now that they're out of the shadow of their HCs with similar specialties we will see how much of them was behind the scenes or at least what they picked up and brought with them... So far it seems promising, and I think it's awesome Pettine stayed in the division... Can't wait to see the match up -
Brian Urlacher annouces his retirement from the NFL
Jeebus replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I proud day for any Chicago Bears fans out there... It always saddened me after our Super Bowl year how one by one the greats made their way to another team for their final seasons... It was just weird, I'm thankful Bears fans don't have to feel that way about Urlacher... Awesome player -
Think Superbowl powerout was bad? Blue Screen every game

Reminds me of that credit card commercial... Strange guy in a shack answers the phone "hello, this is Peggy" in a weird accent -
EJ says this offense is easier than Florida State's ...
Jeebus replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We all know we're switching to a faster up tempo offense... To execute with the speed they're looking for you can't have an overly complex play book. We've got weapons on offense and my impression is they're going to play their game and try to stop us if you can mentality... I'm really curious to see how this QB competition is going to work out... I can see EJ starting week 1 if things are the way they're letting on -
Well I've had my morning glass of kool-aid... So yeah I'm pretty optimistic about this season. Yes there's a complete overhaul all around. I think they did a bang up job in the draft, we added a lot of potential talent to which I don't think will take as long to develop... In the interview with EJ about the new offense sounds promising, said its easier to pick up than what he had at FSU. So it may be a possibility we may see him week 1. The WRs we picked up, still blows my mind. Woods, the most NFL ready WR in the draft. Rogers, an amazing steal, seems humbled by the consequences of his actions, can be a complete beast. TJ and Goodwin stretching the field with a QB that can make the throws. Oh and that's not even mentioning our incredible backfield in CJ and FJ!! Now there's the issue of all the newness. All the rookies, new offensive and defensive systems. This could go either way, especially in our first game... There's no film, how can they prepare? Look at old SU film? The offense is new, the defense is tailored to our personnel by a proven DC. We'll catch some off guard this season, this isn't the read, react, and get run over we saw last year. The rookies, well Doug turning around a dismal college program and turning them into bowl contenders has to say something about developing young talent, and his OC came too. It could still go either way, but I truly billieve that this will be a better year My prediction? .500 or above and at least in the running for a WC spot whether they make it or not

No I think you have it backwards... A serious fan sticks their team through thick and thin, a bandwagon fan is what you sound like, you are "not allowed" to feel good about your team or be optimistic over offseason moves because they don't have a 10 win season? Did you come from the Pats forum? Absolutely ridiculous

Rd 1, Pick #16: QB EJ Manuel - Florida St.
Jeebus replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If that happened, I wouldn't care... Let it be beginners luck and bring us home the trophy. Do I really think that will happen, no, but it's nice to dream -
And so did everyone else, until the 6th round... Hindsight is always 20/20. Missing with Maybin and not getting Mathews is a little different than getting Flowers and not getting Brady, no one saw that coming

Would Toronto Sports Fans Support An NFL Team?
Jeebus replied to TSNBDSC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if Toronto had its own team it would do just fine. We see a lot of what we do now in Toronto because we are a borrowed team. Every other sport seems to do alright up there, even being a hockey town first. Would definitely make for an interesting rivalry -
But take into account these are the people that have been putting out these mock drafts, the same people that think our draft sucked... Add that to the fact they think we will be worse cause of the new offensive and defensive systems we're implementing. We will be far from 3rd worst, I don't see how we can be any worse with a QB with more ability (take your pick, any qb on the roster) and Pettine could crap in a paper sack and come up with something better than Wanny's vanilla D Teams won't know how to gameplan to start off and we stun some people, I don't know about playoffs... But a winning record would be nice and very possible

The way things are headed as far as stadiums is ridiculous... It's making it so the average fan has a hard time going to see his or her favorite team... Perfect example for you.... I live about 2 hours from Dallas and everyone knows about their bright shiny new stadium, the sad thing is... When Buffalo played in Dallas this last time I checked into tickets, I found that I could fly round trip to buffalo out of DFW, get better seats at the Ralph, and still end up paying less than if I just went to the game in Dallas... Yes this is Jerry Jones we're talking about here, but it's only beginning So pardon me if I say screw the fancy seat and 100yrd bar... What good is it when you can't afford the ticket
-
Oh it's not just playoffs he's predicting, he has already tossed around the notion of leading this team to win the SB... Seriously? C'mon kid... I know you're headed to NY but tone it down a little till you can back up your mouth with some on field action... Maybe take a practice snap or two with your new team

Absolutely nothing is going to happen now, Chan has said it himself... Chan's contract is also up after this year so it's interesting to look to see what our future options might be

Mario Williams considering wrist surgery (now confirmed)
Jeebus replied to buffalo1983's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that he would care, I personally wouldn't p*ss on him if he were on fire at this point. To publicly go out and say he doesn't care what anyone thinks, including the fans... and with his wonderful $100 mil performance we've all gotten to watch... I wish someone would call him out like that, maybe we might get to see him give a sh*t about something... That would be priceless -
What about someone like Kirby Smart, DC of Alabama... Up and coming, looks like he may be headed to a HC job... Don't know if he would consider NFL. As far as current coaches I would like to see us get Perry Fewell back or Rob Ryan from Dallas

Bills problem shown in preseason, show coaching problem

I'll second that... He kept our defense competitive, did pretty decent taking over mid season when he was interim HC. Just look what he's done with the Giants D, the one we were starting to imitate. I was hoping he would have been the choice instead of Gailey -

That would at least be interesting, little man with the Napoleon complex trying to prove himself... again. Although his daughter is a Pats cheerleader now...lol -

Now that we are going into week 6 of the season, how we have played this season, and let's just throw in the fact that Ralph is going to kick the bucket and the future of this team is uncertain... Just where would you find the savior of our season now? I'm honestly quite curious of the answer... What's your prospects?
