"As a child, Spikes was raised by his brother, Breyron Middlebrooks, while their mother, Sherry Allen, worked 12-hour days at a fiberglass plant. In 2003, Middlebrooks was found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison, the result of a drug deal in 2001. He writes to Spikes regularly and watches what games he can from his cell at Scotland Correctional Institute in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He is the younger cousin of San Diego Chargers' Takeo Spikes. wikipedia Our defense will have to watch out for Richie Incognito , Miami's brutal lineman. Hockey takes care of these kind players right away

Too many injuries, too many needs. They have to resign Levitre and Byrd for sure. Nix needs help making draft picks , Polian for consulting? Starting over with new HC just takes us back to square one. Keep rebulding, Fitz looks ok till rest of team is helped first, especially defense. After watching Gabbert and Tannelhill ,getting a franchise qb is difficult to judge.

Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville slapped the hat and headset off graduate assistant coach Kevin Oliver during a 41-34 overtime victory over Kansas, and the video quickly went viral. Buddy says he wants to draft a QB this year
ALF replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Redskins traded from 6th to 2nd to pick RG3, in return for 3 #1's and a 2nd. He looks worth it , but is there another qb that caliber this year? JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, and other major busts. In 2004, three players Nix drafted were selected to the 2005 Pro Bowl. In 2005, six players Nix drafted were selected to the 2006 Pro Bowl. In 2006, eleven players Nix drafted were selected to the 2007 Pro Bowl. In 2007, eight players Nix drafted were selected to the 2008 Pro Bowl. The Chargers won four out of the last five AFC West titles with Nix as Assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel, in charge of college scouting and instrumental to the decision making process of their NFL drafts. -
If they let Levitre go its a massive set back for a offensive line that is finally looking good. A good qb can only get sacked so often before getting injured.

If Barkley is in the same class as Luck and RG3, try to make a trade now with KC or Jags for there 1st pick and still keep our 1st. Not likely but Polian knows a Peyton or Luck , (Bennett). Go big or stay home -
Would Andy Reid be a good coach for the bills? Vick? We do have a better offensive line when healthy and running backs

Man, these refs are totally favoring Indy tonight.

They need to review that great catch ruled a fumble. They are going to get a better draft pick, but I did feel bad for Mularkey -

Getting home from the Jacksonville game
ALF replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What do you think of Gabbert?" On April 28, 2011 Gabbert was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft with the 10th overall pick. Jacksonville traded up six spots with the Washington Redskins to select Gabbert.[ " Does Shanahan know qb's ? -
I would keep Naaman Roosevelt at least on practice squad. A good person who keeps working out and from Buffalo and UB

Wade Phillips/ Perry Fewell co head coach so both could have time to fix defense. Polian and his son, or else its stay the course with Nix and Chan if no one will come here.
-
If Nix and Chan have a real 5 year plan, I would stay with it till new owner has his say. Changing every 3 years is getting us nowhere any sooner. I blame injuries, poor conditioning and poor motivation. They could use ex pro bowlers as assistants to light a fire and help train the players.

TJ is a backup if Fitz was injured. Thigpen not so good backup but knows the system . If we had a experienced deep receiver , Dave Nelson back (6'5") , Lee Smith TE 6-6 to go with Chandler 6-7 TE would give Fitz some tall targets to hit especially short range to open up more running. The team had potential if healthy. Changing any coaches before end of season would be just confusion.

1st Round QBs Buffalo Passed on since 2000
ALF replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the defence in last place, it needs attention the most for now. -
This team had potential if healthy. The lack of intense year round conditioning shows up with all the injuries. Poor drafting , letting free agents walk , and a weak coaching staff. Until there's a new owner commited to staying in Buffalo like Pegula is to the Sabres, its up in the air right now. I still would go with Bill Polian and his son to take over.

It took them 7 games, but THEY DID IT!! Worst D in NFL

Make Shawne Merriman a defensive coach. If he can't motivate and fire them up, no one can. -

I would beg Polian to return and pick up where he left off. He knows talent and has connections to wheel and deal. "Bennett and the Colts were unable to come to an agreement on a contract. Bennett was then dealt to the Bills from the Colts in a three way trade that also included Los Angeles Rams running back Eric Dickerson, and Bills running back Greg Bell. This trade occurred in the fall of the 1987 season, just before the trade deadline, and has been called "the trade of the decade" by the New York Times.[3] In the NFL, Bennett's talent at the left outside linebacker position helped the teams he played for to 5 Super Bowl appearances (4 with Buffalo and 1 with Atlanta), but they lost them all. In his 14 NFL seasons, he recorded 71½ sacks, 7 interceptions, 112 return yards, 27 fumble recoveries, 78 fumble return yards, and 3 touchdowns (1 interception, 1 fumble return and 1 blocked field goal return). At the time of his retirement, his 27 defensive fumble recoveries were the third most in NFL history." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornelius_Bennett -
Merriman not in his natural position , OLB, Why???
ALF replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Merriman is needed to motivate and fire up our defence like Ray Lewis would. We need him more as a coach then a player to get injured. -
Cam Newton [I've heard of him, get 'er done]
ALF replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like Marv and ground Chuck believed, run and stop the run to win. We have a great running game when the offensive line is healthy. Without a effective defense, the best qb couldn't win . I wish we kept Perry Fewell but if Chan stays he has to upgrade his staff. We need more help then just qb for now. -
Speculation: Tim Tebow could be traded, Bills mentioned
ALF replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tebow would do good in Canadian football. I would trust Elways judgement to trade him. -
Retractable-roof stadium proposed for outer harbor
ALF replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Makes the $200 million upgrade sound like a bargain for the state. I would be against a new stadium in Hamilton,Ont. http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/blog/morning_roundup/2012/10/developer-proposes-bills-play-in.html?ana=RSS&s=article_search&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+bizj_buffalo+%28Business+First+of+Buffalo%29 -
Mario Williams considering wrist surgery (now confirmed)
ALF replied to buffalo1983's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let him get his wrist fixed/healed, this season is lost anyway. If they could only make good draft picks for not making the playoffs all these years.
