  1. Todays Buffalo News sports 1st story looks more promising for next year. Last 5 games able to stop the run on defense. A good draft and injured players returning, sign Levitre and Byrd looking better now. I would give Chan next year , just too many injured and he is learning by his mistakes. I hate to start rebuilding from scratch again. Let things settle before a new owner comes in. Plus Nix is looking for our future QB
  2. Whaley 99-09 Pittsburg, Arians 04-11
  3. ESPN.com: NFL Nation Wednesday, December 5, 2012 Focused Arians hopes for head-coach shot By Paul Kuharsky Bruce Arians is 60 and NFL teams are not looking for 60-year-olds as their new head coaches. But he’s something else, too -- a guy who’s good with young quarterbacks who’s done great work this season with Andrew Luck. And teams will be looking for a guy like that. Arians Will the Colts' offensive coordinator and interim head coach, who's filling in for Chuck Pagano, be in line for a head-coaching job when the season ends? Does he want to be? “You always do,” he told Tennessee reporters on a conference call today. “I mean, if you’re coaching, that’s one of your goals. As long as you in are in the business. When I was a young assistant in college, I wanted to be a head coach in college. And every since I’ve been in the NFL I’d love to have had a chance. “This might be my only chance and I’ve really had a great time with it. But I can’t wait for Chuck to get healthy and to get back." Would Arians expect a team looking for a quarterback-developing head coach to call him? Has he earned that? "Well I don’t know," he said. "That’s up to the owners and the general managers at this point to decide what they are looking for. I’m not going to hold my breath at my age and where I am at in my career. I’d love to have the opportunity to talk to one, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m cool with it.” I understand wanting young and I do think younger coaches tend to connect with and relate to NFL players better. But Arians has connected with these Colts fantastically well. He’s groomed Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Luck in their early NFL days. He's connected to a great coaching network so he should be able to hire a good staff. Those things should get him on the lists of owners and GMs who will be in the market. “We need to capture this moment we have while we have it,” Reggie Wayne said. “He’s done a great job. He’s kept the team together, which is not easy. It could have been an easy excuse for us to fail, we lost our head coach, now everything will go south. ... “He’s earned himself [a look] for a head-coaching job somewhere. Hopefully we can take advantage of him while we have him now and when that time comes, it comes.” http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/print?id=67898
  4. Catch 22, if the seats are empty, reason to move team to LA for new owner
  5. If it's a obvious passing situation, let a offensive linemen be a running back for a extra blocker or he could run it ? A healthy O line should solve this problem in the future. CJ can run and catch, 2 out of 3 is very good.
  6. Chan is giving the team better position in each draft. He can't help it if Nix picks wrong. With good position in the last 12 drafts we should have a excellent team by now. The problem is wrong draft picks, poor trades, letting our good free agents walk away.
  7. I agree, 3 games to give back ups some experience and see if they have potential. Call it preseason games for 2013
  8. It's OK, he gave us a better draft pick. This season was toast long ago.
  9. Just give the back ups experience from here out,. Sit Fitz ,we know what he can do, lets see who's #2. We have a fair foundation, draft a lot better , sign Levitre & Byrd, and hope the next owner stays here.
  10. Interesting reference if the OP meant this one : http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Night's_Watch " Lord Jeor Mormont, 997th Lord Commander of the Watch, known as "The Old Bear." Towards the end of his tenure, he became increasingly worried as more rangers were lost beyond the Wall" " Once, serving on the Wall was honor and a sign of selfless devotion to duty, with many knights, honorable men, and nobles taking the black ..."
  11. This is the way to add depth at critical positions. Give all backup players a chance to get some experience and show what potential they have. Get ready for next season now. Sign Levitre and Byrd !
  12. I thought Alex Smith might be avail until I looked closer at his stats. Not enough for being picked 1-RD 1. Teams don't give away good gb's, thats how we got Rob Jonhson. I'd stay with Fitz and draft a qb . 2014 looks better at that position.
  13. Too many injuries. Hope they keep all of them out rest of season to heal and get in better shape for next year. Get a look at other players to get experience for depth. I would hate to start from scratch again. Next season should be a lot better. Just get more advice on drafting and resign our free agents, a good trade and who knows. I still would like a basic dome next to the Ralph rather then $200 million + remodel.
  14. Alex Smith is unhappy not starting for San Fran. Fitz would be a good back up for them. Polian could make it happen
  15. Resigning our FA 's are critical. Chan and Nix will do everything they can to save their reputation from here out. I would stay with them next year. It's all up to the next owner if the team stays here or nothing else will matter.
  16. After watching Teo play against USC , the Bills will have to trade up to get him. I would do it
  17. If we lose Levitre and Byrd, its back to square one. The offensive line is finally coming together when healthy. That is great news for any qb.
  18. I'am very thankful for all the fans who pay big money to attend games. Those of us retired on a modest pension can't afford to go. Low wage earners are also thankful to watch the game on TV. Without fans in the stands, the team would have relocated long ago.
  19. 8th pick overall. Unless its a Luck or RG3 , the 1st round is no guarantee.
  20. Merriman's problem is that he is fragile and injury prone due to past behavior? He's very emotional and can fire up the defense when healthy. I like him a lot but would use him as a coach and motivator.
  21. If someone is drunk and out of control, they should be arrested or detained for there own safety and others. If someone is too drunk they might drive away and kill someone in a accident.
  22. The Jills should dance in front of him Thursday.
  23. 2009 draft, bills picked Maybin 11th , packers took Clay Matthews 26th http://www.nfl.com/d...d=round1#round1
  24. Only if we resign Levitre who becomes FA end of this season.
  25. I would stay with Chan and not go back to square 1 again. If the next owner is commited to staying in Buffalo he can start all over if he wants. Get buddy more help evaluating draft picks would be money better spent (Polian). The defense needs help and better coaching.
