Do you want China to take control of Taiwan ? They also have critical computer chip factories there. It was bad enough they took Hong Kong disregarding the agreement they made. The World Relies on One Chip Maker in Taiwan, Leaving Everyone Vulnerable Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s dominance poses risks to the global economy, amid geopolitical tensions and a major chip shortage The company makes almost all of the world’s most sophisticated chips, and many of the simpler ones, too. https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-world-relies-on-one-chip-maker-in-taiwan-leaving-everyone-vulnerable-11624075400

Drop All Charges Against Samuel Young! Justice For Elijah McClain! On July 25th, 2020, a protest was held to bring public awareness to this injustice and to call for the charging of the officers who murdered Elijah. The protesters occupied the I-225 highway in Aurora, a Jeep drove with great speed toward the crowd of protesters with a seemingly unimpeded view of the occupied roadway. In an attempt to stop the vehicle from bringing about great physical harm to the protestors, Samuel Young, himself an attendee of the protest, opened fire on the Jeep. Aerial footage evidences the Jeep driver’s intent to cause massive bodily harm to the protesters, as the driver had an adequate distance between himself and the protesters, but nonetheless continued to maintain a high speed trajectory towards the crowd, the driver has not been charged with a single crime. https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/drop-all-charges-against-samuel-young-justice-for-elijah-mcclain?source=facebook I'm still upset at the death of Elijah McClain

What if politicians or judges remain quiet but vote to have abortion legal will the Church still sanction them ? After controversy, U.S. Catholic bishops say there will be ‘no national policy on withholding Communion from politicians’ June 25, 2021 Days after a vote that triggered a tsunami of Catholic debate about Communion and politics, leading U.S. Catholic bishops working on an upcoming document about the sacrament are now de-emphasizing direct confrontation with President Biden or other Catholic politicians who support abortion rights. https://www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2021/06/25/catholic-bishops-communion-biden-abortion/ Pelosi ‘Pleased’ by Vatican Statement on Communion for Pro-Abortion Politicians May 14, 2021 The document Pelosi was referring to told the U.S. bishops to discuss the matter among themselves, to avoid public controversy and division, and ultimately to leave the question between politicians and their local Catholic authorities. https://catholicvote.org/pelosi-pleased-by-vatican-statement-on-communion-for-pro-abortion-politicians/ It sounds like it is up to each diocese to decide I have not heard of excommunication from the Church as a penalty.

Clarence Thomas calls out John Roberts as Supreme Court edges closer to overturning Roe v. Wade Thomas' blunt remarks suggest new antagonism toward Roberts and added to the uncertainty regarding the ultimate ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, expected by the end of June. Roberts, with his institutionalist approach, is positioned as the one justice who might generate a compromise opinion that stops short of completely overturning Roe v. Wade, at least this year. That would thwart an outcome that Thomas has worked toward for decades. https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/20/politics/clarence-thomas-john-roberts-supreme-court-roe-wade/index.html Yep Thomas is a political partisan , Roberts is not as he should be.

Pennsylvania Senate GOP Primary Ex-President Donald Trump is injecting his democracy-damaging fraud claims into a new election cycle, urging his friend Mehmet Oz to simply declare he won a too-close-to-call race for the Republican Senate nomination in Pennsylvania -- a key state in Trump's desperate bid to steal the 2020 election. "Dr. Oz should declare victory. It makes it much harder for them to cheat with the ballots that they just happened to find," But Trump's pressure on Oz, who late Wednesday had a lead of less than 1,300 votes among 1.3 million cast https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/19/politics/trump-pennsylvania-election-fraud-lies/index.html Last update 11:43 AM ET GOP MEHMET OZ 31.2% 416,785 GOP DAVE MCCORMICK 31.1% 415,545 Estimated remaining 20,629 votes https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2022-primary-elections/pennsylvania-senate-results

New York State Statewide, Democrats now account for 50% of the state's 13.6 million voters, while Republicans are at 22%. Another 22.4% do not belong to a party, while the rest belong to a third party. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/politics/albany/2020/11/02/more-blue-democrats-benefit-ny-enrollment-surge/6124245002/ It's hard to be fair to Independents when (not seen as a real party in NY) are the wild card . I live in the most Republican district of NYS (Lockport) with the old lines drawn. Gerrymandering unfortunately is common in most of the country and needs reform. The Independence Party of New York State (IPNY) gained ballot access in 1994 and became the New York affiliate of the national Reform Party in 1995. The IPNY left the Reform Party in 2000 and launched the national Independence Party of America in 2007. Though the status of the national party is unclear as of 2016, the IPNY remains active in New York. Due to fusion voting laws in New York, the IPNY often endorses major party nominees rather than nominating its own candidates. According to a November 2015 report by the New York State Board of Elections, the IPNY had 476,873 registered voters in the state. Opponents have noted that a large number of IPNY voters have mistakenly registered with the party in an attempt to register as independent, or unaffiliated, voters. The group acknowledged the misunderstanding and called for a change to the state's voter registration forms in its 2015 legislative agenda https://ballotpedia.org/Independence_Party_of_New_York_State I was always non partisan till Jan 6 , the Independent Party in NY was never real.

The covid disaster shut down the world , so massive retirements and workers in energy moved on. Inept politicians made it a lot worse , yes Biden can raise his hand. They are saying it will take time to get enough energy workers back and train them. Trying to limit Russia and Iran exports make it worse , Venezuela is a mess. -
Tulsa race massacre The Tulsa race massacre took place on May 31 and June 1, 1921, when mobs of white residents, some of whom had been deputized and given weapons by city officials, attacked Black residents and destroyed homes and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, US. Alternatively known as the Tulsa race riot or the Black Wall Street massacre the event is considered one of "the single worst incident[s] of racial violence in American history", and is believed to be one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the history of the United States. The attackers burned and destroyed more than 35 square blocks of the neighborhood – at the time one of the wealthiest Black communities in the United States, known as "Black Wall Street" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulsa_race_massacre

Here are the 9 Republicans who voted against a bill to help poor families buy baby formula amid the ongoing shortage The "no" votes were cast by GOP Reps. Andy Biggs, Lauren Boebert, Thomas Massie, Clay Higgins, Matt Gaetz, Chip Roy, Paul Gosar, Louie Gohmert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene. The bill now goes to a vote in the Senate. Rep. Jahana Hayes introduced HR 7791 by saying it would help families using benefits under the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program access more baby formula. This supplemental nutrition program for poorer women does limit the kinds of baby formula brands that WIC recipients can purchase, though the bill aims to resolve these limits. The bill also requires that formula manufacturers put in place contingencies to prevent supply disruptions. https://www.businessinsider.com/9-republicans-vote-against-bill-poor-families-buy-baby-formula-2022-5 -

Health care costs for retired Americans expected to surge next year Medicare Part B premiums are soaring, pushing health care costs higher On a monthly basis, retirees and older Americans are paying $170.10 for Medicare Part B premium, an amount that is typically deducted directly from Social Security checks. Much of the increase this year stems from steeper Medicare Part B premiums for Americans age 65 and older. Medicare imposed a 14.5% increase on premiums for Part B, outpatient coverage, in 2022 – a record high and nearly double that of the national inflation rate of 8.3%. https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/health-care-costs-retired-americans-fidelity -

Oil, Gas Employment Will Take Five Years To Recover From Covid: Rystad The U.S. oil and gas industry lost 200,000 jobs during the pandemic, according to Rystad calculations. This represented 20% of the total workforce in the sector. In 2020 alone, 100,000 oil and gas jobs were lost in the United States—mostly in the drilling tools and services segment. Now, as demand for oil and gas has recovered—and oil and gas prices along with it—more than half of those jobs have since been added back. But the remainder of the recovery is set to be slower, based on Rystad Energy's oil price scenario where WTI averages $106 this year, $70 per barrel next year, and $50 per barrel in 2025. https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Oil-Gas-Employment-Will-Take-Five-Years-To-Recover-From-Covid-Rystad.html -

The contract Watson is slated to sign with the Browns, at a base-salary level, is far less than what he was scheduled to make with the Texans. Money lost on a suspension comes out of the player’s base pay for the season, so Watson would lose around $55,000 per game under his new deal if a suspension is levied, whereas he would have lost nearly $2 million per game with the Texans. https://brownswire.usatoday.com/2022/03/18/deshaun-watson-contract-browns-suspension/ His base salary for 2022 is $1M https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/deshaun-watson-21753/
