Will boogie basham be the next Wyatt Teller for Beane?
djp14150 replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
nes a 7 th round on a top team in thr league with a lot of depth already. Usually 6 th, 7 th rounders aren’t going to make the team to start. Thry are usually designated for PS id like the league to adopt a protected prospect development of those drafted 5th or later or undrafted wherr thry can go on PS for 1 yr without having to clear waivers. But it means they are 100% PS for the season.thry can’t get plucked by other teams. Limit of 4. These are for 2 years or less prospects with exceptions for full season injury loses. -

really…next Wyatt teller? big difference. Teller was trade out of his rookie camp not 2 yrs in. bills traded him because of him possibly getting cut due to depth and injuries. -
That doesn’t sound like a meniscus tear. I had one and had surgery. My left knee was unstable and hurt. Had to use a cane. It sounds like a torn meniscus. Had a tear on my left d had surgery in oct 2019. My knee was unstable and would give out. Had to use a cane. Thr dr finished the year and took about 30% out.

I agree…he resigns to PS when he can nes a vet he can’t get claimed nor forced to sign elsewhere

false…… most of a teams roster turns over significantly over a 4 year period even with stable coaching/GM.. your core players you drafted, you keep long term ( QB, WR, OT, OL, DL, LB, CB) with other places you use free agency and drafting to fill in holes. from drafting/ prospect development from PS you are looking about 35-40 players while the rest of the roster of 20 or so players you drafted or signed to multi- year contracts as free sgents.

I don’t care about win/ lose. I’m curious to see some of the new/ young players and see how they do. -
Areas/towns to stay for us out of state fans traveling in Oct?
djp14150 replied to Cache's topic in The Stadium Wall
buffalo has a small light rail line test takes you to waterfront/ downtown area where you have the hockey arena. In October their might be a hockey game going on then. Allentown area is a walkable area with shops snd restaurants. niagsra falls…you can walk over the rainbow bridge. The American side is a state park. The Canadian side is heave tourist area. The Canadian side you can see the falls from a better view. in north tonawanda near the canal therr is a walkable part with some stores snd restaurants. History lesson…..the Erie Canal entered the Niagara river not in buffalo but along the tonawanda creek ehich is the border of niagara and Erie count and has thecities of north tonawanda and tonawanda. In the city of tonawanda side therr is a decent city waterfront park you can walk along on bike paths. pizza and wing places you can find all over the place.each area has their own local places they go too. Many of thrm tend to be take out only with not many tables to eat at. -
Sounds like PS material with some leadership and semi coaching.

I became of age in the early 90s… Some of these I recall. whrn I went to UB most stuff was at Smherst. Main Street departmrnts were med school of ehich statistics was under, and mathematics. Very thing else was at Amherst. I went to the UB main st bars..I can’t recall the names. Manikins was a night club on NF blvd roughly across the street from where Target/ Barnes and noble/ Best Buy plaza is located. a dive bar I regularly went to was Louie’s in NT. thrn there were the Canadian ballet theaters ……

I’m not local so I rarely have heard him. Last time 8 live full time in buffalo he was only a few years in buffalo. i was surprised he was still young at 61. I work for the fed govt. I can retire with a pension at 60 which will be near the end of this decade. Do I plan on total retirement? No. I plan on doing other things. Does it have to be identical to what I currently do— no. hr has an interest in history and hr is capable of speaking bring a radio person …it makes sense. It’s not a full time gig.

Good Breakdown on Bills, KC, and Cinci moving forward
djp14150 replied to newcam2012's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good? This is garbsge…. yes if you have a big name QB on a high cap hit over their career you are going to go through some periods of rebuilding/ cap constraints i expect quite a few name players to not be back in 2024 -
rxcept cable isn’t going to die. With streaming services raising fees it becomes a thing of what is the cheapest option. you have the same issues with streaming as with cable where you have to pay for the full family of stations, not just the one or two you want.

the issue with 24/7 sports networks is the daytime ratings on M-F. most fans watching games are not obsessed sports nuts. They know there team but not much else. Thr sports stars in the broadcast booth will attract viewers. Just because they were a good athlete and popular star, does not make them a great tv personality or game analyst. The reason they had Todd mcshay is because he manages a site they acquired. He had bern the manager of that group for a long time. They did not hire another drsft guru as you seem to think. radio announcers need to be different than tv announcers. It’s a more descriptive format. Nation radio gets its re ensue stream from radio affiliate fees. Their operating expenses are covered by the radio fees. nfl is very different with a true national contract. Local markets don’t have their own tv crews. Other sports it’s different. Local teams need local crews. From a profitability standard you could pay the crews on a show a base pay rate then a bonus tied to the ratings/ ad revenue made. same with major shows like espn sports center…the anchors pay is tied to viewership/ ad revenue. what has hurt espn has hurt all cable channels and newspapers and the issue of internet access and wanting to see/ read it now.

The thing in TV sports is that experts can easily be replaced with cheaper labor ( the recently retired athletes like thry were). same with print media. The reason you might keep 20 year veterans is because of something you can measure like resdship or page hite or something else that can drive subscription fees. some columnists have good writing skills and has established insider relationships to get info….which can be hard to do. those beat writers generally covering the team can get churned over because basic skill sets don’t advance much with age/ experience. thr big problrm I have is with long time personalities like Suzy Kolber and Neil Everett…these peop,e have bern on ESPN for a long time. Out of respect they should be able to go in a way better than a tweet.

while I agree with what you said… denver has 10 loses with a one score 4Q deficit and 3 in OT They win half of those games they have 10 wins which puts them in the playoffs.
