Brad smith is the wildcat qb/ emergency qb. The issue is with the second strng qb. Jackson will be but it will take him maybe 4 weeks to know the offense. Then thigpen gets cut.
-
If he is cut he gets $0. Players understand this. I'm sure the bills talked with hm about this and possibly restructured the contract.
-
I'm very skeptical......a foot injury causing a 10-12 week miss? Something else is going on or that time to miss.
-
Ricardo lockette cut by sesttle....he has 4.2 speed and 6-2 frame.
-
During the preseason he had njury issues throughout it whch in part affect his performance.
-
The issue was keeping thigpen over a 5th receiver. When TJ is up on it thigpen is cut and a WR added. It's alo posdble they wnt to use the Izr slot on brooks but he has to make it to 53 before he goes on. When he goes on a slot opens and the get another WR/TE.

Carder isnt getting cut.

The idea with the wildcat is it opens up the door for confusion if you have a WR or RB who can throw the ball which then makes the lateral/option play more dangerous. Gailey was the OC for Pittsburgh when they had "Slash" . He was a decent receiver/returner who could also run reverses and then option throw on them. The other piece of this is in the short yardage or goalline plays when you have a mobile QB who can run ithe ball himself or hand it off. There is even more confusuion if you have two player who can do this. Imagine this..... 2nd and goal from the 3 Fitz is out...Smith is in at QB...he could line up in a traditional QB role where he can throw/run/hand it off to Jackson. Lets spin this---the defense is focusing on the QB so a direct snap to the RB will confuse the defense because their instincts are to follow the qb not the ball Another wrinkle......you have smith line up in the slot and have Jackson be the only player in the backfield where he is calling the snap. The idea is you get mismatches, defensive confusion missed assignments (player is assigned to follow the QB and RB wherever they go--but which one is the QB which one is the RB). Just like with other gadget plays ---it forces a defense to play honest and not try to cheat on plays or say they will just play 8 or 9 in the box....if they then get beat they know they cant do 8/9 box again. Later when they see the same formation they are guessing the same play so they have to play for that....thus it opens up other areas of the field.

Russell Wilson starting for the Seahawks is a bad move...hear is why.... 1. Their schedule. They have a difficult first part of the season. they play 5 road and 3 home. the road are all at their division foes and at detroit and carolina. Their 3 first home games are the hardest in the NFL (Cowboys, Packers, Patriots) 2. name a rookie QB who started the teams first game and took them to a 10+ win season that wasnt Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco? 3. His confidence could be shot or a QB controversy could result. Another Strock/Woodley.... A much better situation would be for Flynn to start. When the team falls behind or struggles due the difficulty of who they play then they could put Russell in the second half of the season when the schedule is easier.

If Easily gets cut.....there is a player on the Seahawks that is borderline to make the team...his name is Ricardo Lockette...he has 4.2 speed. He is Ps eligible.

Gailey has said McGee will not get cut.

Did Buffalo strike gold at pick 41 with Cordy Glenn?
djp14150 replied to Damond Talbot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was projected as a guard by many...plus the Browns have a LT (high draft pick) -
actually if team B is playing team A the next week (it could be longer like 2-3 weeks or next game).....team B CAN NOT pull any players from team As PS.

Wrong player Kyle Moore was drafted by Tampa Bay in the 4th round of 2009...played 2009 and 2010 starting some but then got cut at the end of last yrs preseason. Lions signed him after cuts then cut him midseason....Buffalo signed him at the end of last season. Kyle Moore played for USC defense along with Bengals Manauluga and the Packers Clay Mathews...came out in 2009 draft...9 starting D-men graduated and I think many of them got draftes.

http://www.sportsradiokjr.com/player/?station=KJR-AM&program_name=podcast&program_id=mitchinthemorning.xml&mid=22389769 Jay skurski just shy of 10 min in talks to a Seattle radio station about buffalo. The first 10 minutes the persn talks to a patriots reporter.

Given Philadelphia history of QBs who cant do anything outside of Philadelphia's offense---thanks but not thanks. Its a fair question to talk about. Personally I dont believe a rookie QB can come in and win---history doesnt support it. History also supports if the QB sits on the bench for a yr or two when they come out they are much better because of it. Yes I think Buffalo should be looking at a future QB--not necessarily one for 2013---but one for maybe 2015. If you look at the team if they perform how we believe the biggest needs to be addressed in the top 3 rounds will be QB, LB, and a UFA position loss. Lets say Buffalo makes the playoffs but is out in the wild card round...their pick would be low 20s. Some forcasts have the Oklahoma QB landing around that spot.
-
Lets look at those QBs and see how stable their offense coordinator/offensive philosophy and head coaching have been vs what happened in Buffalo. Doesnt matter how great a QB is...if you run them through something like 4 offensive coordinators over 5 years you are killing the QB---no matter how good/talented they are
-
My prediction...the offense will have some red zone issues.....they win 26-13. Defense makes some plays giving them a shorter field.

Where will the Bills game be seen nationally
djp14150 replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The stations have published what they will air so if you go on titan or zapit -
For week 1...it appears the Bills-Jets game will air in: all of NY State Erie, Scranton, and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania Cheyenne, WY, Denver, and Colorado Springs (These markets carry the Broncos --Tebow fans I guess).
-
Buffalo will not sign him until after all the cuts are done and they see what all is out there. Other teams may be looking to cut/dump an old tire TE and get a pick for them.

Interesting SI story--chan gailey's head??
djp14150 replied to djp14150's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you read it? The article talks about crating new offenses--in particular to the wildcat and versions of them and his work as KC Chiefs OC job when Tyler Thigpen played in KC. -
Can we just sign his wife ???
