  1. The problem isnt with CBS---but with FOX. Alot of the stations are undecided. s of now much of the nation is getting CIN @ CHI OAK-IND traditional OAK and IND areas along with Houston NE-BUF NY and NE TEN-PIT---much of the east coast and south through Miss KC-JAX traditional KC and JAX markets MIA-CLE is south FL and N Ohio. Right now the panhandle is also for this game but I could see Tallahassee flipping to the Buffalo game Their are so many 1pm games because CBS airs the mens final of the US Open at 4:30. Thus, exclusivity rules are lifted in some markets. Starting in 2015 CBS doesnt have the US open finals---ESPN has excluive rights and they may contract out some coverage to CBS. ESPN also may have the tournament change its start time so the finals weekend doesnt happen the same weekend as NFL season kicks off. As of FOX coverage right now....early game. DET-MIN most of the great lakes and midwest SEA-CAR...carolinas and much of the western US. ATL-NO...LA, Vegas, parts of northern california, much of the SE US. TX, OK, NM, CO, ME, RI TB-Jets....much of FL, NY, NE and scranton PA. Outside of traditional markets (primary, secondary, and tertiary) stations usually dont decide until Tuesday or Wedensay morning the week before the game. This week FOX has been the hangup.
  2. chandler has been fine----its a matter of coaches and play calling. The offense Buffalo has operated tended to not use the TE much during most of the drive but then using the TE much more when inside the opponents 25. Finding a good offensive TE tends to be very difficult to do. Maybe 1 TE per year comes from the draft class as a good receiving TE. Other facotrs that skew the statistics..... 1. The QB---better QBs tend to distribute the ball to their receivers. So on some teams the TE operates as the escape hatch while on other teams its the RB that does this. You really need to split the numbers based on design routes vs dumping offs to avoid a sack. 2. The style of offense---some offensenses dont rely on the TE much. I think Mike Martz didnt even use a TE as a receiver. 3. How do tthe team uses there TE. For example NE uses there TE's more as slot receivers than actually blocking TE's as part of the line.
  3. still wish they went out and got Bernard Pollard.....
  4. The players they cut were PS eligible. They knew they needed space to fill other positions of DB and OL. As others said---why make the players all excited only to then cut them in a few days when they needed to add players.
  5. Buffalo put on their PS 3 players they had in camp and a 4th was a player they drafted last year that they wanted to go on their PS last year but he got claimed. He was the potential steal of the draft. He was on the top 3 list of UDFA post draft and Buffalo got him. Its a bigtime bonus to get a starting player who was undrafted. With Easiey ---this was his 4th camp. year 1 IR, year 2 he came out earing the 2nd WR spot but the heart ailment came up, year 3 he wasnt used much in the preseason and got on the PS then activated later in the year, year 4 now I think they were targeting Kauffman for the PS. But they liked Streeter better. I still see them signing Kauffman later on if he isnt picked up.
  6. Remember buffalo odds were stacked against him going in. SJ, TJ, Woods, and Goodwin were locks. Thus 1 maybe 2 spots up for grabs....this was a battle among 8 receivers going into camp. They can still pluck him off their PS if injuries occur. Similar thing happened this week. Seattle cut its 4th round pick, a WR , and signed him to their PS. San Francisco took him off SEA PS and brought him on their 53 man roster because of injuries they have to their WRs.
  7. What the read option is doing is just utilizing the mobility of your quarterback....nothing new here. Teams that had a mobile QB who could run would have an advantage. The defense has to account for him running somehow.
  8. I think they need Hopkins to get a date too......
  9. It has everything to do with new team/new blood. In Carolina...after Cam Newton...none of the 2011 picks are left on Carolinas roster.
  10. Trufant......he was cut by Jacksonville whose head coach was his DC the past couple of years in Seattle. what does that say to you about trufant?
  11. From his report date it was for two weeks---thus expiring on tuesday--those are the usual rules
  12. Blatnick can go PS Thad Lewis cant go PS
  13. Thread is elsewhere and will get closed. vince Young got cut be GB
  14. Brady quin got vut from Seattle..... Meacham from San Diego... Winfield is reportedly going to retire
  15. in season you can be activated after 6 weeks on it and 3 weeks working out before activation. Preseason IR you are done for the year.
  16. Is that count including Byrd or not?? Riht now Byrd doesnt count against the roster count officially.. Legurski likely goes on in season IR thus open spot for Byrd to take. they would be looking for a Guard, CB, and 3rd QB with other additions to try and improve the backups.
  17. Tebow is available...... Vince Young is available.....
  18. I saw one former Bill get cut.....
  19. With the Us open going on now, not sure how many of you have heard that ESPN takes over the entire US Open in 2015 including the finals. They may subcontract some of the match coverage to CBS. This change would likely effect how the NFL is broadcast. This is my speculation....... NFL will go to dual doubleheaders for week 1, week 17, and another week (either week 16 or a week in November sweeps). then the other 14 weeks would be single network DH. Another option they add another bye week to make it 18 weeks...then only 2 dual DH weeks (first and last)
  20. Banks is a PS candidate....... I would look at the TE Ballard.
  21. The roster I see.... 3 QB 3 RB 6 WR 3 TE 1 WR/TE/FB slot 8 OL 1 BPA 25 offense 8 DL 7 LB 9 DB 1 BPA 25 Defense 3 ST (P, K, LS) this is the final roster---they keep Kolb then put him on the in season IR, then activate Byrd to the roster.
  22. their analysis is utterly meaningless.... lets look at Leinarts career..... firest 2 years he started with the Cardinals with Kurt Warmer breathing down his back. As a typical rookie/2nd yr QB mistakes do happene. The next 2 years he was a back up behind Warner. The next 2 years he goes to Houston--he had ashot when Schaub went down but was injured and out for the year during year 1, then road the bench in year 2. last year he was with that disaster that was the Raiders. He hasn't really gotten a chance. Remember it takes some time for a QB to develop.

  25. If you recall---last season the same thing was done with Easley. He didn't play much and when he played he wasnt thrown to much. They released him to slip him on the PS.
