  1. This "competition" was never much of a competition to begin with. They had Dodson, who is a career backup but knows the defense, and they had Bernard, who is the size of a safety. They never even made an attempt to replace Edmunds and I think it will come back to bite them in the you know what. The MLB is a very important piece in this defense. It's the Luke Kuechly position. You can't just stick a backup in there and call it a day
  2. This is what I read. They did not take it as sarcastic: https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/08/09/joe-burrow-calf-injury-weeks-away-return-bengals-zac-taylor I believe the Bengals insiders more than SI but I guess it's just confusing that we can get 2 different stories from different sources based on a coach's comment
  3. The latest as per Taylor is "it will be another few weeks added to the original he will be out several weeks." Sounds like he's missing the start of the season. Although Bengals started the last few seasons with a losing streak and they have come back from that before but we'll see.
  4. I think definitely more injuries so yes probably shorter careers. That's a looong season. Maybe 2 bye weeks would help but then you are pushing the regular season out until mid Jan
  5. It's probably coming soon. I read maybe as early as 2025. I think NFLPA will push back but eventually $ will win, more revenue, higher salary cap, etc.
  6. It's all about revenue. You buy seasons you buy preseason and it's all about total $. Only way they would get rid of 1 more preseason game would be to add 1 regular season game, something the NFLPA has pushed back on
  7. If it's 3 years he's probably out in like 1 year I bet. For killing someone? Holy cow that's wild. He could be back playing games and making millions by 2025. This justice system is nuts
  8. Tua's new uniform is already on it's way from Amazon. They might want to upgrade the shipping to Prime based on this report.
  9. Fields is on a terrible team. Who did he have to throw to? I only watched a couple of their games but his throws were on the money and his receivers were just garbage so he figured out he was better served just running the ball and he turned in one of the best QB rushing seasons in NFL history. If he's a "bust" then I hope the Bills scoop him up in free agency
  10. They would be suicidal if the Bills still stomp them even with Rodgers. Jets fans are 100% convinced they are winning the Superbowl this year. It would be glorious to burst their bubble on MNF in front of the whole world
  11. It will be fine. If Tua gets knocked unconscious they will just say his back hurts and he will be back out there the next series anyways.
  12. To get $50-100 a pop for the abuse and stress, it's not worth it. Coaches, parents, players all treat you like crap. Miss a call and people literally want your head on a stake. I'm sure people could think of a million better things to do with their time
  13. The post before this was satire. This one I think is real? Both equally as whacky
  14. I thought every black man already had an AR-15. Ever been to Chicago?
  15. He's taken. You would know he's dating Jerry Steinfeld if you had listened to the podcast!
  16. I'd still take Rosen. He just didn't get a fair shot
  17. For preseason? Ouch, did he sleep with your wife or something? Don't get me wrong, I would miss my own wedding for a regular season game, but preseason is meh. Worst case, you could watch the first few series and then show up in time for the open bar and dancing
  18. A guy that died on national TV not that many months ago? I think they would pass. That would be like you buying a car that had engine trouble on the freeway when the guy before you was test driving it.
  19. Word on the street is Cam Lewis has been playing lights out at camp and is a core ST guy. If it comes down to it, he is in based on his versatility (CB/S/ST). Poyer, Hyde, Rapp are locks and add Lewis to that. Last year they kept 5 safeties so we'll see. I always thought Hamlin was a long shot to make it and I said so when they said he was going to try and play this year and everyone went nuts. Unless you are treating him like a mascot, there's more of a chance he would get cut than make the team. I think for the sake of PR they will keep him around whether on the practice squad or PUP
  20. Mahomes and Brady were in commercials AFTER they won. Josh hasn't won anything in his life besides the Potato Bowl. I can understand the criticism
