even if Rosen somehow busts, at least we are doing whatever it takes to get a QB. it's such an important position, how have we not put a priority on it up until this point in our history? i will feel good in 3 years knowing hey at least we took a shot on the best QB in a long time and didn't just wait and grab the 4th best as an afterthought (like Losman). i highly doubt he busts though. if anything, he gets injured and walks away like Jake Locker. he's as sure of a thing as there has been in a long time. this is the guy to bet on if i'm a GM. if we were in vegas and you had to put all of your chips on which QB has the best chance of being a franchise QB, i'd put my chips on Rosen

this is the best thing I've heard on this site in a long time. Rosen is a real deal franchise QB at a fraction of the price of even someone like Case Keenum. he's the only one in this draft that can start day 1. if the Bills trade up for someone like him it shows they are taking the QB situation seriously for perhaps the first time ever in our history. keep in mind, Jim Kelly was our 2nd pick in the draft. we have never used our 1st pick on a QB (EJ we traded back) let alone traded UP to the top of the draft to get one. it's a no brainer for me. the majority of the successful franchise QB's are picks 1-5. the Bills have absolutely refused to pull the trigger. it's no wonder we have been stuck in QB purgatory

this is true. he doesn't need football. that definitely scares teams. someone like Baker Mayfield would give his life on the football field. Josh Rosen isn't going to jeopardize his health and his future over football. It's just a game to him. he is so good though, it's a tough call. is he going to put in the work?

How a diet helped turn Preston Brown into NFL's leading tackler
K D replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Preston Brown is bad but now I have to go as far as to say overrated? I didn't realize he was even rated. He might have changed his diet but he didn't give up pancakes. I see him getting pancake blocked right out of the play and trying to choose a side way too often instead of taking on the block and blowing up the play. Is there a stat that shows how far down the field his tackles are? I'd like to see that as it would surely change this narrative -
What are you giving up for lent TBD style?

the Bills gave up having a QB in 1996 -
Updated List of NFL HCs, OCs, and DCs
K D replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think Duce Staley should be OC. he's an up and coming coach and he wouldn't need to call the plays so it's a good transitional role. plus i like saying DUUUUUUUUCE -
I said it back in Sept. Watch Rudolph's games then watch Bryce Petty in college. They might be the same person. Makes me nervous. Rudolph did have slightly better stats, more experience, improved each year, and is 1 inch taller. But when I watch them play I can't get that comparison out of my head. It's a really tough call. If he had played in the senior bowl it would have answered a lot of questions about him. We needed to see him under center and reading defenses in a pro style offense. It's tough because he just looks like a QB so it gets me excited. He looks like Dan Marino at times. But then you watch Bryce Petty and you are like oh poo it's the same bs offense with 1 read and a lot of bombs to wide open receivers. Whoever is interested in him will really need to put him through his paces with a private workout

Yea but how many of them does it take to change a light bulb?

Best players comparatively at their position
K D replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yea it was crazy to watch. it was like his hips weren't attached to the rest of his body. i don't know how he wiggled like that but he could make anyone miss -
Yes because you still don't have a QB. Who rushes for 2000 yards these days and when they do is the team ever good? Terrell Davis was the only one to ever do it on a good team and that was 20 years ago!!! Welcome to the 21st century where you need to score 40 points to win the Superbowl

if you move up and not take a QB in the best QB draft in a decade then you are an idiot plain and simple. there are good RB's every year. there are good RB's in the 4th round. there are even good RB's that you can sign off the street that will do the job if you have a good QB to open up the run game. if they moved up and didn't take a QB i would be officially done with this team

Additionally, I would not put it past Rosen to tank his interview with the Browns and Bills in hopes that he will go elsewhere. He seems like a prick like that. That's probably why Bills are in favor of Darnold. You would really have to talk yourself out of Rosen to choose anyone else imo. Or have him talk you out of it instead!
-
Probably the same. I think he would be most happy in NY even if he has to back up Eli for 2 yrs. Big city, good receivers. Otherwise i doubt he makes it past Denver or NYJ at 5 and 6. Jim Kelly didn't want to come here either but he was a PA guy who liked hunting and fishing and he met a girl and now he's here for life. Rosen is a rich kid from the beach in LA. Besides Cleveland, i think Buffalo would be his worst nightmare

Do you think Reich might be able to secure a HC position now?
K D replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Alex Van Pelt is a better coach than Reich and will make a better OC one day. I don't get the Reich hype except that he is a good guy much like McD. I don't think he has any special talents that would make him a successful head coach otherwise -
Rosen best of the bunch. Best high school QB in the country coming out. Best pro style QB in the draft since Andrew Luck. Too bad he acts so entitled. I don't think he's a McBeane type of guy unfortunately but he will surely mature. He's only 20 yrs old. Who didn't think they knew it all at that age? I still think I know it all

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2018/02/browns_scot_mccloughan_doesnt.html Hmmmmm very interesting! If Mayfield goes #1 and Rosen and Darnold drop you better believe we will see trades at 2-4 to get one of those guys before Denver and Jets pick

Best players comparatively at their position
K D replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will just go with the best I've seen do it and who comes to mind when I think of the position: QB: No response because i don't like the answer. But he's head and shoulders above anyone playing in this era or the last. RB: Every time Barry Sanders ran the ball i held my breath. It was amazing to watch. He won't go down as the best ever because he retired early, played on a bad team, had a lot of negative plays, and comparatively was right there in many ways with Emmitt and Thurman, but he was the most fun to watch. Walter Payton was the smoothest and Jim Brown was the toughest. Depends on what style you prefer. WR: Randy Moss is a freak. Jerry Rice had the best career but Moss is just a whole other level of athlete. He could have been pro in a number of sports and was a freak. Best to do it imo. DE: Bruce is probably the 2nd best of all time which is amazing that he played for our team. Reggie White was the best though. But Bruce stands out as a pure athlete who had power, size, strength, speed. LB: Lawrence Taylor is the prototypical LB and a mean sob. One of the best players in the NFL during his era. S: Ronnie Lott. Ed Reed is up there but Lott had absolutely no regard for his body and would light receivers up. It would be a flag in today's game but back then it was fun to watch. CB: Darelle Revis was an absolute lock down corner for about 5-6 yrs where you couldn't even throw his way. Prime Time comes to mind but he refused to tackle and he was all about the fame. Tough call. -
QB's... Where they land... Story on NFL.com
K D replied to BuffaloDave55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
put anyone on a team with the best defense in the NFL and they will win games. they made it that far because of a busted play at the end, they would have been 1 and done. they showed the following week they didnt belong. he's not a bad QB, he's a very average to below average QB. he will surely be looking for big bucks based on 1 season with one of the best teams in the NFL. he doesn't deserve it. that would be no different than us giving Fitz the big contract back in the day. 1 good season does not make you good all of a sudden -
QB's... Where they land... Story on NFL.com

Keenum has 1 total outlier season otherwise very comparable to Fitz or other journeyman type QB's like McCown. Might as well get one of them, they will be half the price -
Golden Boy mad or is it fake? ProFootballtalk doubletalk
K D replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if he wants more money they will funnel it into TB12. trust me, he makes way more than Jimmy G no matter what the contracts say -
This is the year to get a QB. Next year will be like the EJ Manuel QB class. It is amazing that we took a 1st round QB in the 2 best QB drafts of all time (1983 and 2004) and the worst QB draft of all time (2013). This year could go down as another one of the best and next year one of the worst. It will be interesting to see which draft they take a QB in.
