Why I would be happy with Lamar Jackson
K D replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he might be a slightly better version of Tyrod. perhaps the next Michael Vick. whoever drafts him should also pick up Tyrod on a 2 yr deal so that you can run a similar offense no matter who is starting -
It's February 15. What's going on at OBD?

Feb 15, 2016...Rex and Rob are sumo wrestling in the hallways and then walking into an assistants office and farting and then running away giggling -
Josh Rosen: Ceiling: Eli Manning Basement: Jay Cutler People might be like eww gross Jay Cutler, but Cutler was pretty good in his prime. Not elite but good enough to win games with his arm. Does some dumb things with the ball that leave you scratching your head and has the infamous personality issues that rubs people the wrong way. This is worst case scenario for Rosen and for me it's not that bad. To me he is almost an exact clone of Eli Manning. Looks exactly like him when throwing. That's why I thought the Giants would just stay at 2 and pick him. The transition away from Eli over the next 2 seasons would be ideal for everyone involved. Rosen could sit and learn and mature a little bit. But if they don't want him, I would gladly take the next Eli Manning.

I had a thought after reading this yesterday. The Browns are taking either Darnold or Mayfield. I think if they take Mayfield then the player the Bills might really want is Darnold. He fits the mold of a McBeane player more. I'm personally not high on him but I'm not the one picking. Anyhow, Bills put the word out they want Rosen and that makes someone like the Jets need to trade up if they want him. Meanwhile Darnold falls farther down, no QB needy teams 3-14 assuming Broncos sign Cousins. There's a better chance that someone picking in that range will want our 21 and 22 to allow us to trade up. It's more cost effective and we won't have to trade away our entire draft to get our guy. Just a thought!

Foles isn't going anywhere unless someone gives up a 1st round pick and then some. Wentz tore his ACL and lcl, there's no guarantee he will be ready for week 1. I think it would take both of our 1sts to pry him loose. No thanks

get the QB at all costs. they can fix the other holes through the draft and FA. RT, LB, CB, WR, DT are the biggest needs. whatever they don't get in the draft get a nice veteran for cheap. but QB is such a priority i can't even think about anything else

just get the QB. the rest will fall into place. get the QB then build around them

Bills hire Terry Robiskie as WR coach
K D replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they did about as good as you could do this late in the process. Highlights: WR coach for the Atlanta Falcons during their best passing years (Julio Jones, Roddy White) and OC for the Titans last year. Played RB in the pros but has had a lot of experience coaching WR's Good hire imo! -

might be a smokescreen to get someone else to trade up to take Rosen and have the guy they really want (Allen) drop farther down. i have heard they want Allen so this Rosen talk is news to me. Rosen is more of a sure thing imo but Allen has a good attitude and the best combo of size and arm talent since JeMarcus Russell

i think you meant to say Denver at pick 5. it will take more than that to get it done according to the trade calculators: Denver signs Cousins, Bills trade 2x 1sts and next year's 2nd to move up to 5, Bills trade pick 5 and Cordy Glenn and maybe another mid round pick to move up to 2. this would be the best case for us. or we could roll the dice knowing Indy and Cle won't take a QB but it's risky because someone (Cards, Jets) could trade up with them to get ahead of the Bills knowing who they are probably targeting at 5. the Bills have an insider with the Colts now so they could probably gauge whether or not they are going to trade out of there so then it really just comes down to the Browns. the Brownies might just want to pick knowing they will be able to get the best offensive or defensive player in the draft at 4 but trading down to 6 with the Jets they could still get their guy. so yes, I think we would need to trade up to 2 to ensure we get our QB. i think no matter who is picking, the first 2 picks in this draft will be Darnold and Rosen. if a team isn't taking one of those players they would be wise to trade back

even if Rosen somehow busts, at least we are doing whatever it takes to get a QB. it's such an important position, how have we not put a priority on it up until this point in our history? i will feel good in 3 years knowing hey at least we took a shot on the best QB in a long time and didn't just wait and grab the 4th best as an afterthought (like Losman). i highly doubt he busts though. if anything, he gets injured and walks away like Jake Locker. he's as sure of a thing as there has been in a long time. this is the guy to bet on if i'm a GM. if we were in vegas and you had to put all of your chips on which QB has the best chance of being a franchise QB, i'd put my chips on Rosen

this is the best thing I've heard on this site in a long time. Rosen is a real deal franchise QB at a fraction of the price of even someone like Case Keenum. he's the only one in this draft that can start day 1. if the Bills trade up for someone like him it shows they are taking the QB situation seriously for perhaps the first time ever in our history. keep in mind, Jim Kelly was our 2nd pick in the draft. we have never used our 1st pick on a QB (EJ we traded back) let alone traded UP to the top of the draft to get one. it's a no brainer for me. the majority of the successful franchise QB's are picks 1-5. the Bills have absolutely refused to pull the trigger. it's no wonder we have been stuck in QB purgatory

this is true. he doesn't need football. that definitely scares teams. someone like Baker Mayfield would give his life on the football field. Josh Rosen isn't going to jeopardize his health and his future over football. It's just a game to him. he is so good though, it's a tough call. is he going to put in the work?

How a diet helped turn Preston Brown into NFL's leading tackler
K D replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Preston Brown is bad but now I have to go as far as to say overrated? I didn't realize he was even rated. He might have changed his diet but he didn't give up pancakes. I see him getting pancake blocked right out of the play and trying to choose a side way too often instead of taking on the block and blowing up the play. Is there a stat that shows how far down the field his tackles are? I'd like to see that as it would surely change this narrative -
What are you giving up for lent TBD style?

Updated List of NFL HCs, OCs, and DCs
K D replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think Duce Staley should be OC. he's an up and coming coach and he wouldn't need to call the plays so it's a good transitional role. plus i like saying DUUUUUUUUCE -
I said it back in Sept. Watch Rudolph's games then watch Bryce Petty in college. They might be the same person. Makes me nervous. Rudolph did have slightly better stats, more experience, improved each year, and is 1 inch taller. But when I watch them play I can't get that comparison out of my head. It's a really tough call. If he had played in the senior bowl it would have answered a lot of questions about him. We needed to see him under center and reading defenses in a pro style offense. It's tough because he just looks like a QB so it gets me excited. He looks like Dan Marino at times. But then you watch Bryce Petty and you are like oh poo it's the same bs offense with 1 read and a lot of bombs to wide open receivers. Whoever is interested in him will really need to put him through his paces with a private workout

Yea but how many of them does it take to change a light bulb?
