  1. that's true but knowing that there are mediocre QB's in free agency i think the smart move is to sign one and draft one. the guy you draft will be cheaper plus he might end up being something. it's a smart bet to diversify like that. worst case you have a mediocre veteran to get you by. best case you hit the jackpot with a rookie and you can cut the more expensive veteran
  2. Browns are absolutely taking a QB at #1. Right now it would be Darnold. Allen was right there with him before the senior bowl but i think his accuracy issues are a real concern. I think Giants at #2 don't have to take a QB but they would be absolutely stupid not to. When will they ever pick this high again? Even if Eli turns things around he has at most 2 more years tops. Get your QB now while you have a chance. There is a 0.00% chance that the Denver Broncos don't select a QB at 5. It will be who is left out of Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield. There is also a very slim chance the Jets don't pick a QB. They have a new OC and a great opportunity to pick up someone who they might have rated higher than the others. If one of the top guys falls this could be where he goes or if things play out like I think and 3 QB's are already taken then this is where they might take a shot on Mayfield if he continues to impress. Other teams that are QB needy are Arizona and Washington (unless they are able to lock up Cousins but I don't think they will). They need to do something and Lamar Jackson is a great athlete who would have left college with 2 heismans if Mayfield didn't have such a great season. I can't imagine those teams don't take a chance on him knowing that at the very least they will have a very dynamic player. That leaves Mason Rudolph and not competing at the senior bowl is really going to hurt him to where teams are scared to pull the trigger. He could slip but do the Bills with 2 picks and no QB and the Saints and Pats who have really old QB's pass on someone with that size and these kind of stats? They might just because nobody is sure what he will be at the next level so it's too bad he didn't get a shot to prove people wrong at the senior bowl. So I think there definitely will be 5 QB's taken in the 1st round and maybe even 6 depending on how desperate these teams are to get someone. To think there will only be 3 is complete nonsense. QB is too important of a position to overlook when you have 6 guys that could potentially be franchise players. QB's have slipped in the past like Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr but I think teams know that if you want a QB this is the year to do it.
  3. i don't even think Peterman is good enough to start at many colleges let alone in the NFL. he got bounced from Tennessee and they are desperate for good QB play. i'm trying to think of what schools he could have started for this year but all of the QB's coming out are better. this is either a joke thread or someone is messing with the OP
  4. Eli Manning gets it. 2 Lombardi's in NY later and the Chargers are on their 5th coach and 2nd city while only making the playoffs a handful of times during that period
  5. I don't agree at all. They will put them into situations out of their comfort zone and see what things they can and can't do outside of what they have seen on tape. That is especially important for a player like Rudolph who was in a gimmicky offense that does not translate to the NFL. This is a big deal whether you believe it or not I might even go as far as to say he will not be selected in the 1st round now and this will be a factor as to why. It's true that it only takes 1 team to like you but teams might view him as more of a risk now than if they saw him doing the things they think he can't do this week. We will see come draft time but don't be surprised if he is there at 21 and we pass.
  6. The only reason Peterman has "untapped upside" is because he has already fully tapped his downside! He's a bum, cut your losses and move on
  7. it would have been nice to see him under center vs the other competition. the only opportunity they will have now is the combine and if they host him on a visit and even then they are only throwing vs air. this was their one shot to see him live and in action
  8. We are too good of a team to either have Matt Moore who we know is terrible or a rookie who even if he's good is going to play like crap in year 1. I think we have to go next level and get Bradford or Alex Smith. If the rookie beats them out then great, if not at least you know you have a middle of the road QB in the meantime
  9. If Rosen had Darnold's heart and leadership I would trade way the entire draft to get him. He's too flakey though. And Darnold isn't a sure thing although he's pretty close. If Darnold falls to 3 and Indy isn't greedy I think it would be a tough call. You would have to be sure this is your franchise QB for the next 10 yrs. If you are wrong you lose your job and set the team back 3 years in the process. The safe bet is to get a solid veteran and take someone at 21 like Rudolph who might be good. If not no big deal
  10. Matt Moore? wtf is with the love for this guy? he is so bad they had to ask a mediocre QB to unretire when their real starter went down and then they played David Fales instead of him vs us in the last game and he almost won. Matt Moore might not even be in the league next year let alone a starting QB haha
  11. i think the Bills want their burner deep threat. we won't know who they will want until we see some 40 times!
  12. Keenum is just the latest in the "journeyman QB's" to have some success. they all have a blip on the radar at some point but when put in the position of being "the man" they regress and you realize that their small window of success was just an outlier. let's face it, if you throw enough passes in this league you are bound to get on a hot streak every now and then. guys like Keenum, Fitz, McCown, Hoyer...those guys are who they are. if you think they are all of a sudden good then you are just fooling yourself
  13. he's only about 6 ft and 220 pounds, aka the size of most RB's. i think he will have a tough time in a 4-3 being the only MLB and trying to take on OL and stuff the run. he's better suited as MLB in a 3-4 like what he plays at Georgia or WLB in a 4-3
  14. Allen had a bad showing at yesterday's practice. He was throwing the ball all over the place. Let's see how he does today. If he continues like this he might play his way out of the top 10, at which point it would be much more likely for us to trade up if he drops that far. Trading 21 and 22 can get us a pick in the 6-10 range but as Beane said you have to also find a team that's willing to do that deal and sometimes they ask for stupid high prices that just aren't reasonable if they know you are desperate
  15. I think when this is all over that McD and Phillips should get an apartment together.
  16. I'm calling bs. Who measured him? His agent?
  17. are they showing this stuff on tv? i don't have NFL network
  18. all of his contacts have retired or passed away. i'm surprised he figured out how to even get on Twitter. my grandpa wouldn't know how to do that so props to Vic
  19. From what Beane has said in the press, he wants a tall, well built, pocket passing franchise QB. My guess is they probably have them ranked as Darnold, Allen, Rudolph, White and it just depends on how things play out and who falls. https://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/what-does-buffalo-bills-gm-brandon-beane-want-at-qb-you-have-to-be-able-to-throw-from-the-pocket
  20. Michael Vick was probably the best athlete I've ever seen on a football field. Built like a RB, speed of a WR, arm of a QB. Lamar Jackson is also a great athlete but not built like Vick. A little taller and a lot skinnier. But the comparison is there. He's that "type" of player. Yes, probably better than Tyrod. If the OC wants to run that kind of offense and they draft Lamar (i HIGHLY doubt it) then they should keep Tyrod for another year as it would be a smooth transition
