  1. Everyone who wants Darnold, consider this. He would have been on the bench and this would be his first season as a starter in college if Rosen had gone to USC instead of UCLA. Rosen was the #1 QB in the country and the top recruit in California. A 5 star recruit. At the Elite 11 camp, Rosen is selected and Darnold is not. Ricky Town is also selected and he is the USC Trojan's top QB recruit. Darnold is the other QB in the class and a lot wasn't expected of him. He might have sat behind Town but Town decided to leave USC because Cody Kesller was the starter and he wanted to play. Darnold redshirted and waited for his turn. Then he had 1 good season and 1 not as good season and now he's NFL ready? I don't buy it. He might have been on the bench at USC if things didn't fall his way.
  2. Chosen Rosen. Darnold exists only because Rosen chose UCLA over USC.
  3. That's how I feel about Rosen. It very well could go Allen at 1 then Darnold. But Mayfield and Rosen are most likely to be the best of the draft. If we are the ones picking Darnold at 2 we are going to be kicking ourselves possibly for the rest of our lives knowing we could have picked one of those other guys! I just hope Rosen goes to a team I don't care about like Arizona so it doesn't get rubbed in our faces for years and years if we pass on him. Not only pass on him but trade up and give up extra picks and go out of our way to pass on him! Now that will hurt
  4. Rosen, Darnold or Mayfield, and 1 other person picked later. So 50% shot with top 4 guys and then who knows who else out of the rest so like a less than 10% chance if you don't go for one of the top picks. Much better odds if we can get a guy at the top. Must trade up
  5. They must be assuming we are trading all of our picks to get Josh Allen
  6. It could happen but very unlikely. Giants are loading up to win now with Eli (maybe adding Dez). I think they want Barkley or Chubb no matter what QB is there. Last thing they need is a QB controversy. Plus Davis Webb might be pretty good. They haven't even seen what he can do yet
  7. What are they saying? Can you summarize? @PIZ
  8. You know what they say about a QB with big hands...
  9. Front office guys and scouts thinking they are psychologists rather than just a bunch of dumb former jocks. Aaron Rodgers fell for similar reasons. You can't predict the future and you can't get inside someone's mind so drafting someone based on what could happen is silly.
  10. Sounds like some deliberate thought was put into that quote. 8 players, likelihood of only 2 taken before 6, dropping to 12 gets you in range. Miami another possible candidate to trade up from 11
  11. Nope. See above. Rosen's strength is that he puts the ball where others can't get it. Darnold makes far more bonehead plays where you are like what the heck was he thinking on that one. Reminds me of Fitzpatrick in that regard. And the kicker is that Darnold's offense is far more completion friendly. It's a lot of quick throws and crossing routes
  12. here me out...i'm an idiot but....listen to what i have to say...
  13. My ideal draft is 6. Rosen 22. Vander Esch but it will be really hard to move up and keep pick 22 at this point
  14. So Albright says everyone was wrong and now he's back pedaling and saying he needs to look into it? What a clown ?
  15. How much better? Extra 1st and 2nd round picks better? Going to pick 2 is a lot more expensive than pick 5
  16. Coach McDermott needs to listen to his long lost cousin here and draft Josh Rosen!
  17. Lol what? The Browns are a mess. These 2 players are TOTAL OPPOSITES. How can you be deciding between 2 completely different players? Josh Allen: Tall, big hands, poor college stats Baker Mayfield: Short, small hands, amazing college stats What do they value? How can they be zeroing in on polar opposites? If they value big strong players then that imediately disqualified Mayfield. If they value completion percentage then Allen is off the board. This is bizarre even for Cleveland
  18. You can take the extra 1st and 2nd round picks and use them on great OL players. Even when one costs way more than the other? As you said there are no sure things. An extra 1st and 2nd to get Darnold over Rosen or Mayfield is nuts
  19. this is what i fear. at that point it is my own personal bias but there is no way anyone could convince me that Darnold is so much better than Rosen that you would give up potentially an extra 1st and 2nd rounder for him. that's obscene.
  20. I think that is a big risk to speculate what he might be. He has just as much of a chance to not be that as well. But like I said, if we were picking #1 and had our choice and they said we like Darnold over everyone else because of xyz then fine, but the fact of the matter is he would cost WAY more to get than someone who you admit is better right now. If we trade up to 4 or 5 and they are both there then so be it but to go out of your way to trade away more picks is silly imo
  21. to get to 5 will probably be 12, 22, maybe 65. to get to 2 will probably be 12, 22, 53, 65, next year's 1st not to mention ROSEN > Darnold no matter what the cost in my eyes. with all of those extra picks to get Darnold it's definitely not worth it http://buffalonews.com/2018/03/27/play-nfl-draft-pick-trade-simulator-calculator-darnold-rosen-allen-value-jimmy-johnson-chart/
