  1. Because he came out and said it on national TV. You aren't putting it out there unless you are very interested in doing it. Could you imagine if they interviewed Beane and he said he was taking calls about moving back and figuring out trade values? Everyone would be freaking out
  2. Bingo! Price could go waaaay up on draft night once certain players start falling and time is of the essence
  3. they can trade with us knowing we are taking a QB and the player they were going to take anyways will still be there but my reasoning for trading to 7 now is to get have the time to work out a deal for 2. worst case, you get stuck at 7 but most likely you can trade up again from there
  4. see the thread on the Bucs GM willing to deal at pick 7. give them 12 and 56 for the 7th pick and then from there I think the Giants are more likely to listen to offers knowing they only fall back to 7 and can still most likely get one of the top 3 positional players
  5. http://buffalonews.com/2018/03/27/play-nfl-draft-pick-trade-simulator-calculator-darnold-rosen-allen-value-jimmy-johnson-chart/ Using the above simulator, the Bills could give the Bucs the 12 and 56 pick for the 7th. I would do that deal now knowing that it opens up a ton of options whether it's moving up into the top 5 from there or sitting back and seeing who falls
  6. What if you can move from 12 to 7 now and it only costs a 2nd round pick? Then you have more options to possibly trade into the top 5 from there if the other team only has to drop to 7. If you wait until the draft and there's a really good player available maybe you have more competition and the price goes up
  7. That's pretty funny that the guy Darnold was redshirted for and sat behind has already washed out after 2 seasons on the team that's about to draft him. I don't know who should be more worried, the Browns or Darnold
  8. You are suggesting they get a franchise QB for 2-3 yrs down the road. These guys might not have jobs in 2-3 yrs if they only win 3 games like last year. They would be setting up the next regime for success rather than helping themselves. Unless they had some kind of guarantee on job security (good luck with that) they are going to want to build a team to win now, not later
  9. OBJ is not stepping foot on a field without a new contract and he wants to be the highest paid player in the NFL.
  10. You guys must have missed the part about how he's not stepping foot on a field without a new contract and he wants to be the highest paid player in the NFL. Please stop with these idiotic threads
  11. The GM for the Tampa Bay Bucs Jason Licht was being interviewed on Good Morning Football on NFL Network and he said something very interesting: "There are more than 7 players we would love to have so we like our spot, we will get a good player. But right now we are looking at trade back scenarios, who would be there at different spots in the draft. I've gotten some calls already on our pick. It will be interesting to see where some of those QB's go whether it's at 5 or my spot at 7, what's that sweet spot." Sounds like QB needy teams have contacted them about pick 7 and they seem interested if they are analyzing what that might mean and who would be available if they do trade back. Very interesting indeed! Watch starting at 4:50 mark...
  12. Or they know that we want him so they put it out there how much they want him to drive up the price
  13. Changing defenses, lost their best pass rusher, other DE suspended for ped's, might be losing OBJ. I don't think they can afford to turn down all of those picks to get a player that will sit on the bench for 2 yrs and not help the team
  14. I don't buy that Giants want a QB that badly. I think if that happened we make them an offer they can't refuse for Darnold
  15. Sorry to hear that. Best wishes to your dad!
  16. Well he could retire at any minute. Maybe Broncos think they can get him to like football again
  17. Keep in mind that we would surely need to overpay like the Jets did. I'm sure teams will look at the charts and see how much extra the Jets gave and want a deal similar to that
  18. Nick Veronica‏Verified account @NickVeronica FollowFollow @NickVeronica More The NFL Draft is a month away. What would it cost the #Bills (or any team) to trade up for a top pick? Use the @TheBuffaloNews' trade value calculator to plug in a deal and see how it grades out: http://buffalonews.com/2018/03/27/play-nfl-draft-pick-trade-simulator-calculator-darnold-rosen-allen-value-jimmy-johnson-chart/ … 7:00 AM - 27 Mar 2018 http://buffalonews.com/2018/03/27/play-nfl-draft-pick-trade-simulator-calculator-darnold-rosen-allen-value-jimmy-johnson-chart/
  19. I see it as... Tier 1a: Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen Tier 1b: Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield Tier 2: Lamar Jackson Tier 3: Mason Rudolph, Mike White, Kyle Lauletta, Luke Falk Darnold and Rosen have been top players since high school and have the ideal QB body and the numbers to back it up. There's very little risk involved there. A team might like someone at tier 1b but they are taking on additional risk knowing that those guys were not highly recruited players and seem to have come out of nowhere over the past few seasons, but I still think they are very good players. Personally, if I'm picking at the top of the draft I'm not going to take on more risk than necessary. Don't overthink it, just take the player that has done it well at every level throughout their career. I think those top tiers are all top 10 prospects so I have them as 1a and 1b and then at tier 2 Lamar Jackson is the only other player worth a 1st round pick. After that there is a clear drop off where the other players could go anywhere from rounds 2-5.
  20. because he played in a 1 read quick throw shotgun offense. in the senior bowl when they put him in a drop back pro style system he had 2 balls batted down out of like 7 throws total. it's definitely a concern of mine now.
  21. I don't believe that for a second. I'm not sure why but I'm having a hard time putting any faith into Jeremy White's "sabres guy." If anything that would be them admitting defeat and saying they would take him if that's all that's left if they can't trade up to the top 5. Or a smoke screen to get Allen or Rosen to fall. I like Mayfield and think he can be very good but I don't think anyone at the top "covets" him when there are other better built QB's with more natural talent. Maybe they like his attitude and his commitment. It fits their underdog mentality. But they would only take him if that's all that's left imo
