  1. True sign that the end of the world is near.
  2. Mr. Softee was a presence during my youth in Lancaster. However, he always appeared just before dinner and my mom would rarely give me money for a cone where everyone else was lined up.
  3. Unfortunately, your assumption is incorrect. I lived in Raleigh for 8 years. Yes, their name is the Carolina Hurricanes. However, they are not marketed outside NC. Even marginally in the Charlotte / Asheville area. They are marketed/supported very well in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill/Greensboro/Greenville area. It is a matter of interest and involvement. I's sure that some of my former Raleigh neighbors can support this.
  4. Ticket prices vary due to location. Infield tickets cost $20 - sightlines are limited, sit on the grass. Our tickets are $85 ea. Craigslist.com had a pit row box seat for $899. This is something I think that everyone should do once.
  5. I was in Box 33, Row JJ of Grandstand A.
  6. I was at the race as well. It looked like you were in the same area as I was (Grandstand A), just up the track further to the start/finish line. I was directly across from Hornish's pit. You are a much heartier soul than I am being there at 9:00am. I got in at 11:00.
  7. I would have to put my vote for Rochester here even though I was born/raised in Lancaster. Went to school at RIT and always thought that Rochester would be a cool place to live. However it has been 20 years since I attended RIT. Rochester would be between Buffalo and Syracuse when it came time to visit your other locations.
  8. I would think that there would be some copyright infringement there.
  9. That's because we know that the right lane is all beat to hell. The left is much smoother. In the Ohio drivers ed manual it says that when passing a vehicle the overtaking driver is to honk the horn to alert the vehicle being passed. Can you imagine the noise if this was followed?
  10. Let's lace em up and get it on!! Funny, I grew up in Lancaster as a Buffalo fan. Moved to Raleigh NC and became a fan of theirs when they moved into the area. And now follow the Blue Jackets here in C'bus. But, the roots are too deep.
  11. Far Side is a very close winner here. Another not mentioned and not in wide syndication is Red and Rover.
  12. How about the pants the trainers are wearing in the team picture? Tres chic!!
  13. When the tire with the Fix-a-Flat is rotated is will be a pain. Drove to Buffalo from C'bus OH and the dang thing would get a wooble at 60. Get to Buffalo and the Saturn dealer knew right away what the issue was. Throws off the balance.
  14. Tida, Tiger's mom, is actually Earl's second wife. Tiger has 3 siblings from the first marriage. I picked this off an interview with Earl. He met Tiger's mother, Tida, in Thailand, where he was the officer in charge of running the army's recreational services; bowling alleys, cinemas and so on. He was looking to hire some local labourers, she was the secretary at the office. The rest is history - as was his first marriage, to Barbara, from which he has three children, two sons and a daughter, all now in their forties. He struggles to remember where exactly all live and work, so it is with some trepidation that I ask what kind of relationship he has with them these days. 'Pretty good. I don't see them that often. I telephone. I talk to them maybe once a month. My only regret is that I was in the military service and because of my commitments I wasn't able to spend as much time with them as I should have done when they were growing up.'
  15. Dang show has me hooked. They do come up with some wierd cases.
  16. Cincy and I wouldn't mind splitting the $100.
  17. Here in Columbus, if it ain't Buckeye it is second class. Feature writers are ok, but have their snoots up the OSU backside.
  18. He has to petition the league to request the #5. The league can say aye or nay.
  19. Try this site www.repairclinic.com/0088_9_1.asp
  20. The penultimate closing scene to Schindler's List where they made the ring for Mr. Schindler and presented it to him before saying goodby.
  21. The opening scene in Lawrence of Arabia.
  22. I did not get the point of SDS's comment. The product is meeting the market requirement.
  23. I don't get it either. The US auto industry has its head up its a$$ when it comes to ventures like this. The product works, meets cost and performance targets, yet the "PM" gets booted. ??
  24. 3 guys are the #1 tee and the starter tells them that he has a fourth for the group. When the fourth arrives it is a stunning blonde. The 3 guys look at each other and think this ought to be interesting. To start play on the par 4, the 3 guys tee off and all are in the fairway. The blonde tees off and outdrives the 3 guys by 25 yards. First guy second shot is short, in front of the green. Second guy second shot is in the bunker. Third guy second shot is long and in the weeds. Blonde second shot is on the green, about 3 foot out. All three guys hack their way onto the green and have putted out. The blonde comments to the guys "If I make this putt this will be the first birdie since playing this game. I'd give anything for a pointer." First guy reads the putt and says - ball and half outside to the right. Second guy says - inside right. Third guy says - Gimmee.
