  2. One word - WOW! They definitely work on a different level.
  3. Here's my take. Players on this team put forth their best effort. Watching Hanesworth last night was watching someone getting a paycheck > going through the motions.
  4. Full post-game report will be required. Looks like a great time. Too bad I'm half way across the country with little vacation time.
  5. Dick Enberg to me is the gold standard. I love how Gus Johnson just talks as if he is in your living room with you and a bunch of buddies.
  6. Good find Mike. May I suggest the Mods pin this someplace for future reference.
  7. Wait til Pryor graduates. It's like the second coming here in C'bus.
  8. Even more reason to stay at home and watch the game in the comfort of your home.
  9. As long as the state of OH doesn't tax me to death, I'm leaning towards staying in Columbus.
  10. Will we see a run on batteries because of this?
  11. I don't think so, I believe that my theory is pretty much what the article is saying. Example: "rigor", "full day kindergarten".
  12. As 2 income parents can't stay home with the kiddies, daycare has become more than "daycare" it has become "intro-kindergarten". The schools recognize this and now have 1st grade curriculum in kindergarten. I've seen this as my manager's son started kindergarten and showed me the grading card. No more plays well with others, colors inside the lines, knows A,B, C's, and naps well. That is what I am basing my comment from.
  13. "Kindergarten has become the new first grade." I guess that happens with 2 income families and daycare. YIKES.
  14. Not every "depression containing sand" is considered a bunker. On some courses, there may be what is called a waste area. These are not maintained (i.e. raked) and you can ground a club in such. That is why the second part of the explanation is there - "This will mean that many bunkers positioned outside of the ropes, as well as some areas of bunkers inside the ropes, close to the rope line, will likely include numerous footprints, heel prints and tire tracks during the play of the Championship. Such irregularities of surface are a part of the game and no free relief will be available from these conditions. All bunkers inside the ropes will be raked each morning prior to play as normal." My wife's boss played there about a year ago. I will ask him what the normal rule of play is.
  15. Incorrect. That's why the PGA developed the local rule for this tournament only. Because there were so many bunkers on the course they didn't want to get in a pi$$ing contest as to what is a bunker and what is not. So they did the next thing - every sandy hole is a bunker. On point #2, even Feherty did not know the local rule.
  16. Rule #1 from bulletin given to all players and posted in locker room - "Notice to Competitors - Bunkers 1. All areas of the course that were designed and built as sand bunkers will be played as bunkers (hazards), whether or not they have been raked. This will mean that many bunkers positioned outside of the ropes, as well as some areas of bunkers inside the ropes, close to the rope line, will likely include numerous footprints, heel prints and tire tracks during the play of the Championship. Such irregularities of surface are a part of the game and no free relief will be available from these conditions. All bunkers inside the ropes will be raked each morning prior to play as normal."
  17. His error was in not reading the special rules sheet handed out to each player and posted in the locker room. Rule #1 on this announcement was that all bunkers on the golf course (ouside the gallery ropes) were considered bunkers and not waste areas. Bunkers = can't ground a club. Waste area = can ground a club. I feel sorry for him losing, but he should have read the local rule established by the tournament committee.
  18. That's my point. The rules officals are only there if there is a question. The players are expected to know the rules and abide by them.
  19. Thank you!! Also, it is not the PGA that makes the rules. It is the USGA and the R&A that govern the game. The PGA made the "local rule" about the bunkers. Also, there are no rules officals that stand beside every golfer on every shot. Players govern themselves for the most part.
  20. I have agree with the first half of the statement. There just isn't the money out there like there was 15-20 years ago.
  21. Topper is he keeps the ball rather than giving it to his gf.
  22. Might try putting some herbs in the cavity to enfuse some flavor. I put a lemon or lime wedge at the top opening of the chicken to keep more of the steam inside the cavity to speed up the cooking a bit. Oil, spice rub on the outside, indirect heat. I also put a grill pan on the bottom of the holder so that I can cook some chunks of onion, pepper, other veg with the chicken.
  23. A close tie, Pinehurst #2 and Torrey Pines.
