Need Advice on Putting a Pet Down
BuffaloBud replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I did two things. One, was to have an impression of Tex's paw made in plaster. Two, was have her cremated. For my wife and myself I had a special picture of her and the paw print put together in a frame. Her remains are in a ceramic jar that we found together at Artfest this year that reminded us of her. The two sit proudly in our living room. ** Attached is a picture of Texana. She is sitting in the back of my VUE. I was cleaning the snow from the driveway. It was a$$ biting cold out, but the sun was brillant. I did not want her laying in the cold snow so I put her in the back of the truck with the gate open. She could have stay there all day looking at everything going on in her domain. ** -

And, two people stop after seeing the initial confrontation, then continue on their merry way. -
There are a lot of schools here in Ohio that pattern their helmet design after Ohio State and Michigan. Does that fall in the same vein as a logo?

Say what you want about Ralph Wilson as a meddling owner
BuffaloBud replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was in yesterday's Monday Morning Quarterback article - 8. I think, speaking of the Bills, I've got to give props to owner Ralph Wilson this morning. When Wilson heard last week that I'd raised money from you readers running a half-marathon -- money that, in part, was going to fund a semi trailer full of food and household items sent by Oklahoma City-based Feed the Children to serve 400 needy Buffalo families -- he said he wanted to match that $7,500 going to Buffalo families and send another chock-full trailer. And so he did; the money will go to the Food Bank of Western New York. Feed the Children trailers will be in Buffalo and Cleveland disbursing their goods on Tuesday, with the Browns and Bills there helping. Thanks to all of you for making it happen. I'll have a couple of photos in the column next week, showing you how your donated money is helping those who need it most. He also comments positively - g. Buffalo's effort, every week. It's a little-engine-that-could team. "We feel fortunate to come away with a win,'' said Steeler coach Mike Tomlin. Feel? Try we definitely are fortunate . h. Buffalo defensive tackle Kyle Williams, with 10 tackles and two sacks of Ben Roethlisberger ... and four holding calls against the man blocking him, Chris Kemoeatu. Linky -
Heaven just got a bit funnier. Godspeed Leslie.

Flew to Orlando from Columbus on Tues and returned today (Sat). No big deals on body scans or pat downs. Feel for those families and older folks flying now. What a big pain in backside for them.

Chris Carter puts the "Come on Man" on Stevie Johnson's post game attire yesterday. Wifebeater t-shirt. When they come back to the studio Carter is in similar shirt. LOL!!!

Some sources report that it was the city’s proud citizens themselves who first proclaimed their magnificent home “The Queen City” or the “Queen of the West.” Long before marketing slogans and organized chambers of commerce, the residents themselves decided their grand and glorious city was regal. By 1826, co-authors Benjamin Drake and Edward Mansfield referred to city as the “Queen of the West” in their book, Cincinnati. Then in 1854, poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow penned "Catawba Wine," which memorialized Cincinnati’s vineyards. In the last stanza of his poem, he refers to Cincinnati as the “Queen of the West.” In the years following, the Queen City was given many other monikers. As Cincinnati became famous as a pork packing center in the mid 1800s, it was often called “Porkopolis.” It had surpassed both Dublin and Belfast as the world’s primary pork packing centers and was chief supplier of salt pork to the British Navy. During the same time period, residents still boasting their pride also referred to their Queen City as “the London of America.” When music, arts, a university and professional baseball entered the city’s complexion in the 1870s, the Queen City was also known as “the Paris of America.” Found info here

Childress fired as Vikings coach...
BuffaloBud replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wrong guy fired. But, the wrong guy (Childress) was one those that went down to MS and recruited the guy that should have been fired (Favre). Then again, the guy that backs up Brett (Jackson) may not be that good anyway. -

Roll Call - Who would have preferred to lose?
BuffaloBud replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had the game on my car radio all afternoon while doing a few chores and enjoying a nice weather day in central Ohio. Play by play man Murphy said it right that it is about winning games, not getting draft positioning. Darn near shed a few tears when I heard that. Then, the battery in my car was dead to the bone when I went to drive it into the garage. Might have been the most expensive game I ever listened to. JOB WELL DONE BOYS!! Keep working hard. -
Second that suggestion.

What I like about Fitzy is that he does not take himself seriously. Looks like he wants the guys around him to succeed more than he does.

Carnival Cruise Loses Power at Sea

Spun - To answer your question about how this was going to get repaired, there was some suggestion that the ship might have to go to dry dock. The thing that is just getting at me is how these people think they have been through the most traumatic event of all time. COME ON MAN!! Not eating or eating lightly for a few days might be of help to a fair number of those passengers.
