I liked the helmet. The rest of the uniform looked like they ran out of time to put it together.

Just tell him to keep his chin up and hit the guy in front of him as hard as he can everytime. And, oh yeah, tell him to have fun!!! -
** HURRICANE PREPARATION: NEED ADVICE **
BuffaloBud replied to truth on hold's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Went through Fran when I lived in NC. Many good suggestions already noted. Don't wait to get your ice - get it now. Ice making companies won't be able to make it while the power is down and it will take them a while to process it. Prepare as if the power is going to be down for a while. We did not have power for 10 days. I had 2 rechargable camping lanterns that I took into work to charge up. Electric razor - get a standard one. Battery powered radio. I had a camping stove that used the small propane bottles. Used it to make spagetti, heat water to wash up (electric hot water heater). Charge up you phone, iPod now and power it off when not using it. In other word, look around at what may use electicity and get it charged up if you think you are going to need it. For those of you that are using portable generators - keep an eye out for the electric company. Generator will back charge the line and could cause issues to the repair team. -
OK - I'm swearing you all to secrecy or you will have to donate to my Pelotonia fund. He told me the reason is that the natural sugars in the beer assist in the flavoring of the tomatoes. You apply the fertilizer / beer mixture when blossoms are starting to maximize on the plants. I do not spray it on the plant, but mix it into a watering can with the powdered / soluble fertilizer. I use 1 bottle of beer with the appropriate amount of fertilizer and apply to each plant. But, then again, my grandfather may have just been trying to find a way to get rid of some crappy beer. Try it next year. Let me know your results. Some indirect scienfic proof

I've had pretty good success with mine this year. 1 Red and 1 yellow cherry, 3 heirloom, and 1 standard. When I start seeing blossoms on mine I hit the plants with a mixture of water soluble fertilizer and beer. Yes, beer. I save some of the crappy stuff people bring over for the holidays and use it for this purpose. My grandfather told me that trick.

Never stayed there, but the place next to it (I can't remember the name) can't be far behind. When I was in the volunteer fire department that covered that place it seemed like we were there numerous times.

Just in case you are wondering, the supplemental draft does not work like the regular draft. Teams submit "bids" if you will and the highest "bid" is the winner and forfeits that pick in next year's draft. Living in C'bus and watching this kid virtually every weekend (ugh), he has a lot of technique issues and does not check down at all. I wouldn't even waste the paper / email to submit a bid.

Company I work for is pushing it. Not much I can see it with respect to new product development (hardware). Software, I can see where customers are demanding it. Hope you do well and there is a cold bev waiting for you.

Good luck. Decided against it as I did not think it added any value to the projects I was managing. Maybe that is why I am now a supplier manager rather than a project manager.

in the market for a bike helmet....
BuffaloBud replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Pooj - I never ride without one. Raod or mountain bike. At Wal-Mart you will find the lower end of the models, fit and adjustment will be limited. You are protecting the grey matter inside of your mellon. Is your 5-10 dollars saved worth your life? -
My thoughts are to you and your family Scott. Godspeed to your mom.

From one to another - cheers.

Color? - Thinking kahki and white (basic) How many? - Well, last year Pelotonia had 4000 riders. I think I may be able to sell 1000, 2000 on the high end. Profit? - Couple of bucks each. Again, profit would go to support my fundraising requirement ($1,800). And no, didn't Google. Thought of you guys first.

Good ones guys, good ones. I need some serious reponses however.

Anyone on the board do anything with custom ballcaps? I am looking at making a custom ballcap for a charity fundraiser. I have the artwork. Direct responses or PMs - either way.

Congrats to you and your newly extended family. As a former project manager - have a backup plan in mind.

Bicyclists, Do you ride properly in the bike lane?
BuffaloBud replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I too am a bike rider. I ride for exercise and recreation. I do not ride in heavy traffic areas and when volume is high. I would like to ride my bike to work a couple of times during the week, but there is very little to no shoulder and commuters are very intolerant on my route in to work. On my rides, I ride to the rules of the road and wear a helmet. I have even added a blinking light to my service bag. I ride defensively and offensively. Defensively, because I have rights to the road. Offensively, because I value my life. I triple check intersections and do not ride with iPod stuck in my ear (one of my favorite pet peeves). Last year in Pelotonia I had to remind about 100 people that we are "guests" on these roads. Double file max, stay as close to the right as possible, no crossing the yellow line, announce cars coming up behind. A lot of these riders were new beacuse they were part of a corporate sponsor and really had no clue. You would have thought that I had just landed from Mars. >> Let me ask a question - What side of the road do you walk on? << I will defend my right to my little portion of the road, but I will not jepordize my life. Give us our space and as Cat said earlier in about 30 seconds you will be clear of us. -
Peace to your mom and your family.

He is (was?) very well liked within the Columbus and OSU environment. Personally, I think he was hoping that this issue was limited to the issue back in March. Yes, now it makes him look like a doofus and may put his job on the line, at the moment he is still very strong within the influence of OSU.

First, let me say that I live in Columbus and the city is just turned upside down by this whole thing. Many thought that the initial report was all that there was to it. With the new reports coming out, it just makes Tressel, the athletic department, the school, and the very well liked president look like a bunch of chuckle heads. The athletic department is going for a big hit sanctions and financially. Wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA (which is a big pot of hypocrisy unto it self) puts the program and/or the athletic department on the brink of the death penalty.

Greg - Did you actually see what is a poor excuse for a movie? It wasn't drama and it wasn't dark. Except for the inside of the essentially empty theater. It was pure C R A P.
