  1. Was in Paris (France, not Texas) and watched how they towed cars there. The cars are so small and parked so tight against each other the towers use two straps and a small crane to lift the car out of its parking space and onto a flat bed.
  2. Highly recommend a tour of the building the next time you are in town. Amazing detail. And view from the observation deck is very good too.
  3. Gee - this just bombs my vision that current train travel would be like "North by Northwest" all to heck. Durn!!
  4. Even as one that rides a bike 2500 miles a year, I had to laugh at this.
  5. Every one of us should get an annual physical.
  6. If there is one positive out of being out of work is that I can watch / listen to the live broadcast. What some of these riders are doing to stay in the race (Lawson Craddock) shows how silly some of these soccer players (Neymar) are. Vive le Tour!!
  7. You're welcome to borrow my copy.
  8. Company I worked for decided to eliminate my position due to "corporate transformation" two weeks ago. Good thing CBUS has a good economic base.
  9. Rough rule of thumb is if you aren't in playoff contention / position by Thanksgiving (US version), you prolly aren't going to make it.
  10. Shady - any thoughts on a friendly wager? Columbus over Washington in 6.
  11. I lived in NE Raleigh area for 8 years. That's been 16 years ago (gosh - where did the time go?) so I really can't give any guidance.
  12. And I will tend to avoid mowing clover until the flowers die off cause the bees love it.
  13. Your Fowler choice has me scratching my head after his putting "exhibition" over the weekend. Turrible.
  14. If you DIY aerate prepare for the workout of your life.
  15. Put down Vigoro spring (fertilizer and crabgrass preventer) application about a week a go. Last weeks rain got it into the soil. I cut the grass high (2.5 - 3in) tall. Keeps the root system cool and the weeds that come up down. For those that come up I make a mental note where those are and hand pull or cut out with knife from cheap leathermans tool. I alternate directions when I cut so the grass doesn’t get a pattern set in it. I’ll fertilizer / weed in fall. I may spot spray weeds if I see something getting out of control. That’s it. As far as the Ag coop extension office, many have good info on line.
  16. She's still got it.
  17. Always wondered what went into a coach or GM interview.
  18. The report I read said that the pedestrian came completely out of nowhere and the police "believe" that no one could have avoided that, autonomous or not.
  19. Same here. Damn the torpedo's - keep those lines running. And if your supplier shuts down or has issues due to weather - UNACCEPTABLE!! I once told upper management that as a corrective action for a supplier not getting parts to us on time due to weather / snow that we should build a bubble over the NE.
  20. It would have to be a snow-pocalypse for my work to close in CBUS.
  21. As someone that practices yoga, all I can say is WTH !!
  22. Stage 2 melanoma survivor here. Found during annual physical and following dermatology exam. Had a large section of my upper thigh removed (think football shape about 5in long by 3in wide - about 15 staples). Had a lymphadenectomy to determine if the cancer had spread elsewhere - none. Had bi-annual checks with oncologist and dermatologist for 3 years. Then went to annual oncologist and derm. All good reports for 10 years. Some basal cancer spots removed. What I would suggest is to learn and question everything and do not settle. Ask if there are any clinical trials available - hopefully it wont. One last point. Like what Greybeard says - Stay positive.
  23. Check out a Boston Terrier. Agree on rescue too.
