  1. One should take few minutes and go through one of the catalogs.
  2. Sabres 10th W was one of the early lead notes on Golic and Wingo.
  3. The development of high definition tv has made watching hockey on tv so much better than back in the 70's / 80's. So much easier to follow the puck on the ice. I remember watching the Sabres / Leafs / Habs over the air (Hockey Night in Canada) and the only way you knew where the puck was by the movement of the camera. I do think is it a bit of an acquired sport to follow. Or, where you grew up. Rules wise its a bit of a mash up of soccer and basketball. Baseball on tv is like being put to a slow death to me. I'd rather watch it in person - fresh air, etc.
  4. Here's a link to review - https://www.roastycoffee.com/pour-over-coffee-makers/
  5. Godspeed to your dad Jim. My dad took me on one of his business trips to Cleveland and Detroit when I was in junior high (I think). Anyway, he gets us tickets to Indians and Tigers games. Nice box seats. I noticed that my dad gives the usher our tickets, the usher wipes down the seats, and my dad "slips" the usher a couple of bucks. I didn't say anything - just noticed. And I noticed other men, relative same age or older doing the same thing. Later on I realize that he / they were tipping the usher for wiping down the seats. Now when I get seats at my local AAA ballpark, Huntington Park, or other stadium where the usher wipes down your seat I make sure that I have a few bills available for the ushers. I also observe others in my age range to younger that haven't a clue.
  6. Kind of surprised that Houston went the WR route after their running back went down /out with ACL.
  7. It's been a while, but went during their "Grand Illumination" deal. If you like history and seeing various trades in period level depiction - then you'd prolly like it.
  8. - Potential spoiler alert - Without seeing the movie and from what I've read, I think that was the direction the movie wanted to take. Her character starts in one direction then transitions to this pop-electro-diva which in the end signals her "downfall" by not staying with what got her there.
  9. I forgot who the color commentator was on the broadcast (Dan Fouts i think), but he was dead on. JA is not stepping up into the pocket where his protection is, he is scrambling out away from his protection. Just because JA is / was in Green Bay where MagicMan, Favre, and Rodgers have made history by moving around, doesn't mean he can do this carte blanche. He has to learn that the NFL is not Wyoming of the Mountain West Conference of the NCAA.
  10. Spent many a weekend for a couple of summers in that area. Not fishing, but sailing out of OYC. Good times!!
  11. Have a drink at the end of the day at the Top of the Mark in the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel.
  12. Have to admit that I doubted that he could win again. Challenge - yes, win - doubted it. Well done T. Now, can he carry this over to Ryder Cup?
  13. Was in Paris (France, not Texas) and watched how they towed cars there. The cars are so small and parked so tight against each other the towers use two straps and a small crane to lift the car out of its parking space and onto a flat bed.
  14. Highly recommend a tour of the building the next time you are in town. Amazing detail. And view from the observation deck is very good too.
  15. Gee - this just bombs my vision that current train travel would be like "North by Northwest" all to heck. Durn!!
  16. Even as one that rides a bike 2500 miles a year, I had to laugh at this.
  17. Every one of us should get an annual physical.
  18. If there is one positive out of being out of work is that I can watch / listen to the live broadcast. What some of these riders are doing to stay in the race (Lawson Craddock) shows how silly some of these soccer players (Neymar) are. Vive le Tour!!
  19. You're welcome to borrow my copy.
  20. Company I worked for decided to eliminate my position due to "corporate transformation" two weeks ago. Good thing CBUS has a good economic base.
  21. Rough rule of thumb is if you aren't in playoff contention / position by Thanksgiving (US version), you prolly aren't going to make it.
  22. Shady - any thoughts on a friendly wager? Columbus over Washington in 6.
  23. I lived in NE Raleigh area for 8 years. That's been 16 years ago (gosh - where did the time go?) so I really can't give any guidance.
  24. And I will tend to avoid mowing clover until the flowers die off cause the bees love it.
