  1. “The issue with the quarterback puzzles me,’’ Polian said. “I can understand Tyrod Taylor perhaps had some injury risk playing in that game, but why EJ Manuel? He proved once again that three staffs don’t think he can play; they yanked him from the game and it’s obvious the head coach wasn’t involved in that decision. Now that is troubling, because it’s not the owner making that decision, it’s the general manager and somebody else in the organization, I don’t know who, making that decision.’’ Why is this troubling? You clearly lay out why the decision was made. If you are troubled by EJ Manuel starting over Cardale Jones, well that should be pretty obvious. Bills are going to let EJ go in the offseason, and they wanted to let him have a chance to prove he can be at least a back-up to the Bills or other teams. Failing miserably doesn't change the reason they let EJ start. Starting Cardale Jones the whole game doesn't change much at all in terms of their decision on him. They have the offseason and preseason to look at Cardale. This isn't complicated people. Think it through.
  2. Would I rather have injury free Mike Evans the past 3 years over Sammy with injuries, yes. Would I rather have Mike Evans over Sammy Watkins while both are healthy? no. That's the distinction I was referring to before. If Sammy Watkins is healthy, he is undeniably a top WR talent. There is no question in that. It is understandable that you do not believe he has lived up to expectations through production, but know that it is because of the injuries, and not because of a lack of talent. That's the distinction you have to make, and despite people mocking Sammy as "glass" or "injury prone", he will get healthy and showcase his talent as he did last year.
  3. Maybe, but to me "in the running" means he is being considered by the person doing the evaluating - Whaley. That would mean either Whaley intends to interview him, or the Pegula's are considering an option that would overrule Whaley. I think it is most likely neither, and Coughlin is just being considered for an advisory role if anything, and not HC.
  4. I saw a tweet out there today saying Whaley doesn't plan to interview Coughlin so Joe could be just as wrong here.
  5. You have really went off the deep end with your hot takes.
  6. The real question is, why didn't the Jets have Maccagnan and Woody out there to answer questions about Gailey's retirement. I mean this is huge. Did they even have a press conference? #laughingstock #dysfunctional
  7. There are two distinctions here that you are ignoring. Sammy Watkins is a top WR when he is healthy and on the field. That is unquestionable. To say you don't believe he has that talent because he doesn't produce on the level that you believe he should is nonsensical. You either make the distinction that he doesn't have the talent, or you stick with your point that he isn't producing because he isn't consistently on the field. In a lot of people's opinion he has the talent, and has proven it on the field when healthy, he just needs to stay healthy and then he will be great for the Bills. Let's hope that starts this year after getting his foot right.
  8. Geez. Floyd will be suspended, and you guys would be railing on Whaley for picking up a suspended player who "is one screw up away from being out 10 games"
  9. I will agree with you on this. The media and fans are systematic in moving from one "ultimate reason" for the failure of the team to the next. Ultimately they want to "clean house" because they think it is a cure-all, but for now they are just happy getting whoever is in their crosshairs fired.
  10. If you can't point out a specific lie then..... I mean I guess you can consider "I never thought about Rex getting fired", a lie, but there is nothing behind it. He simply didn't want to give a disrespectful media anything to spin.
  11. Ugh, their willful ignorance is so frustrating. They have their explanation of EVERYTHING. They just refuse to acknowledge it, and play dumb instead.
  12. Great post. Hits the nail on the head.
  13. 1.) They aren't tough on the Bills, they are pedantic, prone to temper tantrums, and setting their sights on clickbait headlines rather than journalism. 2.) Whaley came out from the start and said 7-9 isn't good enough and going forward he was in charge of looking for the new HC to make us better. Question back to you: What could he possibly say to you right now, that you will come around and say, that sounds great. I am excited. 3.) He stated that he wasn't privy to the decision to fire Rex. Pegula clarified this in his interview. Question back to you: Why is this such a sticking point with you? Rex who probably makes a bunch more money than Whaley, reports to Pegula directly. Pegula (a fairly smart guy) watched throughout the season and determined that this was not going in the direction that it should. Not on his own mind you, but with talking with the people in his organization throughout the year. 4.) It seemed amateurish in that the media was being ridiculous, and refused to connect the dots on their own. They acted befuddled that Rex reports to Pegula even though they specifically and repeatedly asked that when Rex was first hired. They don't care, they still think Rex should report to Whaley. Seriously. Get over it.
  14. Here's the thing. Now that you know this - how does knowing this change anything? Does it make the Bills better? Does it make them less dysfunctional? (beyond your perception) This whole "controversy" in its entirety is the media pretending it's retarded, twisting their head and going "huh??" and refusing to connect the dots. The dysfunction lies in the media's refusal or ability to perceive things. Doug Whaley - "That decision was made by Terry Pegula, and I was not privy to that conversation." Media - "WTF does that mean?!? We can't possibly believe this! What are you hiding? Where is your power? How can this org be so dysfunctional?!?!" Terry Pegula - "Rex asked to speak privately, and that was when I told him it wasn't working out. Whaley and I had conversations about the team, and I took that information and made a decision without final input from Whaley" Media - "Ohhhhhhhhhh, there's still dysfunction by you cutting Whaley out of the decision even though at the beginning of the Rex hire we explicitly and repeatedly asked the reporting structure, and knew verifiably that Rex reported directly to Pegula, and Whaley reported directly to Pegula, Whaley and Rex did not report to each other"
  15. Starting with the Titans meaning Miami's game against the Titans is when Ajayi started getting regular carries. I don't mean Ajayi was part of the Titans lol.
  16. Jay Ajayi averaged 99.75 yards in 12 games starting with the Titans. (Titans are when he started taking over the backfield) Jay Ajayi averaged 77.7 yards in 10 games starting with the Titans. (excluding the 2 Bills games.) The Bills run defense accounts for a 22.05 yard per game swing in his per game average and 35% of his total rushing yards this season. (again starting with the Titans when he started getting a full workload.) Jay Ajayi is a good player, but we made him look like freaking Le'Veon Bell out there. (who also ran for 200 yards on us) Sorry buddy, but the Buffalo News is in its death throes and is trying to remain relevant through "journalism" worthy of a youtube comment section. At least they get you guys riled up.
  17. You hit the nail on the head. They get the answers to the stupid questions they have been raving on about Lynn not answering and now Whaley not answering, and now they are calling them PR speak and shill answers. There is no satisfying the demand here, because the local media is selling the dysfunctional angle. Answers to their questions ruins that.
  18. What lies? You mean not sticking their neck out for people who have been calling them bozos and spending 90% of their time convincing you that the organization are "the laughing stock"? Do you blame them? They don't give a crap what the media is doing. There will always be a narrative. The answers you think you want aren't there to give.
  19. I'd say its more so that I lose interest in reading articles calling people bozo's more than I would ever lose interest in the Bills because the organization won't tolerate local media temper tantrums. How can you disagree with that?
  20. Good get it right!
  21. Not railing on you but this imaginary idea that cleaning house is some kind of magic fix needs to stop. We've cleaned house several times. It isn't a cure-all.
  22. Soooooo the Browns will have had picked in the top 32 twice in 2015, 2016, and 2017. 2015: 12th and 19th 2016: 15th (Originally 1st then 8th) and 32nd 2017: 1st and 13th Granted they changed GM this year, but still, that's a lot of 1st round picks (technically one second rounder)
  23. That's what I thought happened as I was getting a drink and I saw a tweet about Jets scoring on onside kick. I was like wtf, who does that
