NFC Wild Card: Giants at Packers
What a Tuel replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Still a lot of game left. You don't get the 2 points, and the Packers score a td, you are down 2 scores. -
Yeah, probably not. No idea what you guys were talking about, just thought I'd tack on the definitive statistics for his "5 catches". As for the topic, I think Gilmore has had his mistakes, but even with being left out alone at every point this year, a lot of the top WRs struggled against him.

That is inexcusable. HC should've put his foot down on Roethlisberger and kept him out. The game was over especially after they missed the 2pt conversion. -

Interesting how that is PI and a catchable ball but the Raiders one wasn't catchable -
5 catches for 124 yards and 2 tds....

Wait, I heard it right here that good WR's don't drop those passes. Ever. -
They technically ran all over us, but both games were very close and we swept both the Dolphins and Jets in 2015. Things change from year to year, odds are Miami will regress against tougher opponents next year. I do agree though, if they let go of Tyrod, and don't trade for a legitimate QB, we might as well tank next year then. No chance we win with the Keenum, Gabbert, Hoyer types.

Exactly. They will regress next year, just like the Jets. -

Tackling was bad, but that is also part of coaching. -
While I agree with some points that losing on purpose changes a players mentality, and that players aren't going to lay down because the tape is their resume (especially with our number of free agents), but I don't think playing Tyrod that game would have been smart on any level. We were out of the playoffs, we need to make a huge decision on Tyrod, we need to evaluate EJ Manuel one last time, it just wasn't worth it to play Tyrod. I feel like Lynn, and Tyrod should both understand this. It was a meaningless game.

I'd argue Moore makes better passes. -

As we are watching this, he is no longer the leading candidate to become the Broncos HC -

I am really starting to despise that commercial after about 75 times. -

You seem to take issue with the speed and "violence" of the hit, more than leading with the helmet though. Everyone agrees with the leading with the helmet being bad. If he led with his shoulder that hit is perfectly acceptable, but you disagree? -

The deliberate violence of it? BS. The QB was scrambling out of the pocket. The player did what he had to do to prevent Moore from throwing past him. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2017010800/2016/POST18/dolphins@steelers#menu=drivechart%7CcontentId%3A0ap3000000771419&tab=track Not sure if that will link to the specific video but its there in the highlight section -

I can definitely see that. They had the whole thing with trying to tell the offense what calls to make, I can only imagine what goes on for the defense. I am a fan of Coughlin, but seems your qualifications are HC that were fired which would usually get Whaley mocked around here, but it is pretty funny to me that you think this. -

I think we want any QB that will lead us to multiple postseason games and maybe a super bowl or 2. I don't think it has to be a race thing. -

Not as great since the Bills are out, but I found "winning against the Cardinals hurts the Bills playoff chances" thread pretty entertaining. -
Must be able to challenge any play

Seattle WR had a facemask non-call on his first TD. Twisted the defenders head to the side preventing him from tracking the ball. Announcers pointed it out, but the officials missed it. Would've taken 7 points off the board as the defender got called for Pass interference and they would have offset. I also don't think the stiff arm is illegal now, is it? I see RB's doing it all the time. -
I have a sinking feeling...
What a Tuel replied to Norwood for Wall of Fame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are nuts. Anyone who believes Jay Cutler would be better than Tyrod Taylor with the same roster is nuts. Tyrod Taylor can put up 600 more yards a year if he had Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Brandon Marshall as a supporting cast, turnover the ball one third to one half as much, run for 3 times the yardage, and score the same number of TDs. -
Why is Whaley hiring ANOTHER HC who can't develop a QB??

Classic troll post. Post inflammatory remarks and don't return to defend your point. Watch the masses react. I think we knew he was a troll, but this is verifiable proof! -
Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone
What a Tuel replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't disagree but you are rolling that guaranteed money into his first 2 years with the assumption they will cut him and that it will be due. Otherwise it is spread over the term of his contract. -

What a Tuel replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a $15.4 million option bonus. You don't roll all 5 years into 2 years and make the assumption we cut him after 2. Yes, they would owe that money if they cut him after 2 years, but when picking up the contract they will owe him: 2017 $15.9 (including $3.1 option bonus) (+ possible incentives) 2018 $16.7 (including $3.1 option bonus) (+ possible incentives) 2019 $17.3 (including $3.1 option bonus) (+ possible incentives) 2020 $17.6 (including $3.1 option bonus) (+ possible incentives) 2021 $17.6 (including $3.1 option bonus) (+ possible incentives) If you are going to say we are cutting him after year 2 then why not say we are cutting him after year 1, and will owe him $30 million for 1 year? That's awfully misleading, especially for the masses who don't look too deep into it. (Edit: And by "owe him" I fully realize they pay him the bonus money upfront, but in the eyes of the salary cap, it is spread out) -
Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone
What a Tuel replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where do you see $40.5 million? I see $15.9 million in 2017 and $16.7 million in 2018. That is a very reasonable salary for a starting QB, and like I said, if there is no alternative, then why wouldn't we? Unless we plan to tank. Are you rolling 2019, 2020, and 2021 signing bonus into that assuming we cut him after 2018? Even then, I believe there is some cap relief in spreading it out to 2019. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/tyrod-taylor-7899/ -
Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone
What a Tuel replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because you have to take a look at the field with your coach and look at alternatives. If Tyrod is the best available QB, we need to put the best available on the field. The contract itself isn't even awful or overbearing. So yes, they probably already saw what they need to see but that isn't the whole of the decision, unless they plan on tanking.
