  1. This should be the post that is posted in response to every one of these threads created for this nonsense. And then lock the thread. So everyone with a hot take and a narrative can do nothing but read it. Beane didn't need to feed any information to anyone. McDermott worked for the damn team.
  2. I agree. I don't understand the logic behind it. Seems like simply a perception thing. The 2018 1st Round pick, is a 2018 1st round pick. Next year we won't look at trade partners and value that pick as a 2nd rounder.
  3. "You are either forced to leave, or you lose the desire to do what's required to keep going" If that's not confirmation of apathy towards football and your team.......
  4. Guaranteed contracts with coaches are a given. So your choices are: Which would you prefer? Which would you not trash as a bad decision? I can see the Whaley extension but I am one of the few I guess that thinks Whaley's only failure was in getting us a QB. A competent coach, and a franchise QB would have put us into the playoffs during Whaley's tenure and we wouldn't be talking about firing him right now.
  5. Spellbound? What are you even talking about? Did you read this part? "Sean’s a head coach," the owner said. "When we hire a new GM, we’ll talk about, obviously, his obligations and duties, but Sean’s a head coach. The GM’s going to be the GM."
  6. Eh, don't take it personal, you will get a good ribbing when you do something silly on this board. Just ask about spleens!
  7. People already writing off Listenbee? He had a rough couple injuries last year. Hopefully we can see what he's got this year.
  8. The only thing that makes it rational is if they plan to do a long term contract that will lower the average salary vs franchise tag/option. If they don't do a long term contract and franchise tag him in 2018, and then let him go, it would be a bewildering move.
  9. How does getting rid of Watkins help our WR depth chart? And yes, they do roll a safety over Sammy. That's why I wanted them to go WR in the 1st round in the draft (but I'm still happy with the trade down, and then the trade up for Zay Jones). Sammy still works magic even with the safety over the top, but just imagine if they can't rely on him being our only WR threat. Getting rid of Watkins makes no sense. Give him a new 6 year contract and be done with it all.
  10. This idea that the Bills fan attendance and excitement couldn't go down if it weren't marketed is silly. Half of it is Bills fan stubbornness to give up, and the other half is thanks to Russ Brandon and the marketing team to give thousands hope that this will be the year. Put the two together and you have Bills fans notorious for keeping attendance high through a 18 year drought.
  11. Typical Bills fan mentality. All of our players suck until we lose or get rid of them. No one would ever pay anything for them. They suck. Brandin Cooks goes for a #32 overall pick though and the Patriots are brilliant. Watkins is a solid WR. We will regret it if we sit through these rough years, and then get rid of him during his good years. (And yes, he will have spectacular years). It's almost like Bills fans want to ditch players out of spite.
  12. Eh, its not any worse than us making fun of the Jets and Dolphins, or even the Patriots for cheating. The only obnoxious part is the arrogance. My personal favorite is how bad and incompetent we are, but they are proud of taking players from us that were 2nd and 3rd stringers. Oh and somehow they think the Tyrod situation was "bungled". I do not see how it could have worked out better.
  13. Ok, but somehow you have "proven" that McDermott is in charge? Because he gets up in front of the cameras? Isn't that the same thing as "making phone calls"? Either way, I believe it is a collaborative effort between the two guys (as it should be) and all this "This is McDermotts show now" is bull crap. You think it is necessary to mention that he believes Whaley isn't in charge anymore 6+ times (not including passive aggressively saying "McDermott thought this, and McDermott thought that") in two articles? The guy is clearly salty. If he wasn't, it would have been mentioned once at the top of the article, and the rest of the article would have been about the draft.
  14. Just reading Carucci's article infers a bias against Whaley. Whaley really pissed the Buffalo News off badly. I mean read some of this, Carucci has an axe to grind. This is all from 2 articles linked below. Like give it a rest. http://buffalonews.com/2017/04/28/vic-caruccis-3-bills-thoughts-first-round-nfl-draft-trade-smart/ http://buffalonews.com/2017/04/29/vic-caruccis-3-bills-thoughts-second-round-nfl-draft-quarterback-doesnt-figure-plans/
  15. They have won their division once in the last 6 years. They have made 4 playoff appearances, and won 1 game or 1-3 in the playoffs. Yes better than the Bills have been. Guaranteed success story though? Not so much.
  16. Bills fans are laughing at them. So we are....fans of particular teams.... then...... I guess.....
  17. True, but that would mean throwing Mahomes into the fire. The Chiefs aren't doing that, and a few other QB needy teams didn't want that. That tells me he needs to sit behind someone, so we likely would still start Taylor. Valid point. Like most drafts, we will have to wait and see if it was good or bad for the team.
  18. And then don't miss on taking a chance with a QB bc that will be forever stuck to you even when you weren't technically the GM. #manuel
  19. I think they are assuming we wouldnt have a need at CB if we re-signed Gilmore. They are implying that would free us up to take a chance on a QB. Seems like they are prepping 2018 which is widely considered a better year for QBs to do that.
  20. At that point you have to put some value on Gilmore's $13 million per year contract and at that point are we giving up Sammy Watkins in 2018? (Who knows, you may be ok with that - I wouldn't though). It's all subjective, but I think I still take: White 2017 3rd 2018 1st over Gilmore Mahomes Maybe I am dead wrong. That's the fun of watching this whole thing go down though.
  21. Same goes for if he isn't any good. They will have been fleeced for a 1st round pick by the Bills. Regardless though - What would we really prefer? Lattimore or White 2017 3rd Rounder 2018 1st Rounder
  22. "We looked at a couple things" ignored. "We looked at a couple situations" ignored "I thought, we thought" OMG he said "I"!!!!!!!
  23. I don't argue that no one uses it, I just don't quite understand the logic of following it.
  24. Chiefs GM already stated the deal originated when he talked to Whaley and that he talked to Whaley each day this week. If McDermott has all the power and "everyone" knows it, then why wouldn't Dorsey be talking to McDermott?
  25. I agree, we get an additional first and third out of the deal. I would have been far less happy with another CB pick at #10 and no extra picks as an alternative.
