I like the WR corp outside of Sammy being gone better than last year as well. I am not saying it will put us at 1-15 at all. I am simply saying our WR group is not as good without him. They are a million miles apart though.

Because Sammy played 16 and 13 games in year 1 and 2. So to say "oh better than last year so for getting rid of that guy, he must have been the problem ​with the WR corp" is ridiculous and absurd. Based on Watkins play, it is more likely he will play 13+ games than it is he doesn't. Based on that are we better off without Sammy? No. Huge mistake imo. If we even thought about trading him, we should have picked up the option. His value increases with that extra year buffer. Not to mention Beane admittedly did not even shop Sammy around. It is crazy to me that he didn't see what else was on the table from other teams.

The WR corp outside of a #1 is better than its been, yes. We do not currently have a #1 WR though. I do not have a problem with getting Matthews. He is an ok WR for Philly. But Sammy Watkins was clearly the better WR. You guys just have to face it and stop spinning it. I mean, you say Watkins never plays, but he out matches Matthews easily when he "hardly plays" with less targets same number of seasons. Not every fan attacked him but it was pretty cringy every time he posted something. Can't feel good when you have an injury that you can't help. Also he handled it pretty well and fired back with little jobs. I am not saying he can't handle it, I am saying why would he throw out appreciation quotes?

The same Bills fans that ridicule him nonstop on social media every time he posts something?

He never embraced the team because we never had the passing game to suit his skill set and because he had an unfortunate injury. That's not on him. When we actually have a passing game, which is what most of the people in this thread are hoping will come of all these draft picks, then we will be wishing we had a Watkins type receiver.

I can agree with that. The people who were upset about the little jobs thing were likely the same type people who would take pot shots at him on social media and then cry when he fires back.

We are going to beat the Jets and the Dolphins twice. That's 4 wins right there. The people who think we won't get 4 more are silly. I'm thinking 7-9 or 9-7 depending on the swing of a couple games in the last minutes.

Matthews is not garbage. He is a suitable #2 WR. Putting him at WR4 is silly.

He said in the presser he wasn't. But I will concede that he could have been less than forthcoming about the reality.

Right but you said a plan. If Beane wasn't approached he wouldn't have traded Watkins. So he was ok with letting Sammy play and then letting him go for free? If you know you aren't signing him next year, then why wasn't he shopping him?

What is this plan I keep seeing you talk about? Beane was approached by the Rams and Eagles. If they hadn't approached him, Watkins would still be on the team.

That seems like quite a mistake. They must not have thought they were going to trade him at the time, but you have to have that foresight right?

Time will tell, but he wasn't going to be injured his whole career and produced solid years in 2014 and 2015. If his foot is an issue then maybe I can see the trade, but Id assume the Rams would want a look.

How can you possibly say this? Watkins got half of Matthews yards last year playing gimped. Its just plain dishonest to try and say Matthews was a better WR. Watkins outpaced him every year except last year when he didn't play most of the games.

Watkins did more with a lot less targets. Oh hey guys, about Watkins not signing, how about Matthews not signing?

Happy we got rid of a good WR? Awesome. Really building the team there.

What impressed you about Yates that puts him above Peterman?

I was here for the legend of Tuel but it is still good to have young QBs that show potential to develop into better pro players.
