McDermott - Better Lucky then Good?????
What a Tuel replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Give McDermott his whole 5 years with the Bills. Let him and Beane build the team they want to build. They have already done what no one else has done in 17 years. Give them the opportunity to succeed. Why do we gotta play the "what if" game? The proof is right here in a January game against Jacksonville. -

Don’t stop now, Bills. There is another drought to kill!!!!

I don't think it is underrating so much as looking at their last couple losses and thinking this team is beatable. -

As if the Patriots didn't have close games all year. Steelers. Jets. Texans. Bucs. Chargers. Dolphins. All close games. It happens in the NFL. -

Do NY State Income Taxes Hurt the Bills?
What a Tuel replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not really a fact. Its a situation that "could" occur, but may be factored out by 1000 other variables including where other offers come from. Miami isn't offering a contract to EVERY free agent. -
Do NY State Income Taxes Hurt the Bills?
What a Tuel replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a non-issue unless someone brings some evidence that everyone is signing to Houston/Dallas/Jacksonville/Miami/Seattle/Tampa Bay, and not to all the other states with personal income taxes. -
Well this is just silly. I mean maybe, you can make the case that the defense is better for having EJ Gaines, but the offense is clearly worse (32nd ranked passing offense) for not having Watkins. As for Dareus...what? You think Dareus was addition by subtraction? Give me a break. Run defense (30th now) went flat once he was traded. Darby I can agree with despite Matthews not playing nearly as much as we need him to. I wonder when we start calling Matthews "soft" and "injury prone"? Just kidding. Injuries happen, just like they did with Watkins.

Cleveland Browns - Will they go 0-16?
What a Tuel replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sometimes you get 2 or 3!....for almost like 6 years....straight....BUT they are a QB and a HC away guys! SO much better than the Bills! -
Cleveland Browns - Will they go 0-16?
What a Tuel replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The team was never bad enough to go 0-16. The players would never go for it. If they did, it is destructive to the team to take such a dive. -
I don't want to put words in their mouth, but my response to that would be if they are good enough for playoff bound, talented teams, then why are they not good enough for the bills to retain? I hope you are right!

I think we need to prioritize getting a QB now. In the last 18 years, a decent QB probably means a 2-3 game swing each year. A 2 game swing means we likely make the playoffs 3 times (counting this year). A 3 game swing means we contend for the playoffs 10 other times. I think that type of swing is realistic in my opinion anyway. Just get our 20 year QB. Do that and there will be many years of "building through the draft". Edit: And then we won't be "building to trade them before they are released to free agency" Edit2: I know, I know, it seems super obvious and easier said than done. But I am sensing a lot of detraction from the goal of getting our QB next year. That is troubling to me.

Once again, that pass was not Zay Jones (a rookies) fault. Tyrod Taylor should have hit Jones for the go ahead TD. I will admit Sammy Watkins probably comes down with it. But I hate this stigma that Zay Jones gave away the Carolina game. It was 90% Tyrod. 10% Zay. Tyrod puts that ball where it may not even be a TD despite Jones being wide open. Source? I cannot find a USA Today article that says this.

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread
What a Tuel replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ugh the excuses. He didn't have to move the offense. He had to score more than a TD from the Bengals 36, 36, and 12 yard lines. Failing that, yes he had to drive down and score. That's what good QB's do. 2nd Half BUF Punt (3 and out) CIN INT (CIN 36) BUF Punt (3 and out) CIN FUM BUF FG 9 plays 51 yards CIN TD BUF Punt (4 plays 10 yards) CIN Punt (CIN 12) BUF FG (3 and out) CIN FG BUF INT 3 plays -5 yards -
Jarvis Landry 150 targets 103 receptions 895 yards 8 tds Kelvin Benjamin 75 targets 46 receptions 665 yards 3 tds Mike Evans 122 targets 66 receptions 946 yards 5 tds Brandin Cooks 103 targets 60 receptions 1003 yards 6 tds Sammy Watkins 70 targets 39 receptions 593 yards 8 tds "Why isn't Watkins putting up stats?" Well that's fairly obvious.

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread
What a Tuel replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In an alternate universe Tyrod Taylor would've blown out the Bengals who gave up 3 turnovers and a short field on a punt. Or at least would've drove down the field for the game winning touchdown instead of throwing the vaunted "INT" with 3 minutes left in the game. But yeah, all Peterman's fault we are where we are. An awful Bengals team turns over the ball nearly just as much and we get 16 points total. Chargers got what 54? -
Well that's easy to say. Reality is nonsense like this affects the team. We saw it a few years back when the Bills players started bickering with fans. It can get to them, and maybe they are soft for letting it get to them, but the reality is that they shouldn't have to combat this type of nonsense from fans. Especially with a crucial game coming up. Tolbert doesn't call the plays.

Sammy Watkins is so bad they only have a third of their team covering him.
-
Between this and people cheering for Tyrod's last game, you have to wonder if they even have the will to make the playoffs this last game. DB move fans. I want us to move on from Tyrod as much as the rest of you, but right now he gives us the best chance to break this god damn streak. So show some damn pride and energize our players not drain them with stupid petitions to have them cut.

[Vague Title]Take this for what it's worth.
What a Tuel replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is a big leap ahead for you? You don't think a franchise QB would take be a 2 game swing? I'll take 11-5 (or 10-6) every year while we build those things through future drafts. -
What motivation does one owner have to repeatedly cheat, and influence the league office in such a manner that they are beginning to irritate other owners into pushing Goodell into taking action when they cheat? To be the best Owner. Too bad it'll forever be tainted. I'd agree with this. At the beginning of the clip Tyrod is asking him what he thinks and he is like "oh I can't uuuhhh it was a heck of a throw though" or something. They are just trying to get info and the official is just saying something so he isn't a jerk not responding.

This team has had all of those simultaneously and no success. Why not try to get a successful QB? I mean its the one thing we haven't been successful at in 17 years.
