New OT rule is approved for postseason
What a Tuel replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't flip flop. You brought up OT. Only one defense had to stop an offense in OT because of a coin flip. Chiefs defense was just as bad as the bills defense at the end. But only one had to face an offense in OT. -

Again, the chiefs d that caved at end of regulation with less than 2 mins left didn't have to face that problem because of a coin flip. -

I don't think anyone in their right mind defers the OT kickoff to the other team because "football is a team sport" so there is a very clear advantage to having the ball first still. When a team says, "no i'm good take the ball first, Im just gonna stop you and then score", then ill take arguments that its a team sport and there is no advantage to coin flip winner getting 2x offense 1x defense as opposed to coin flip loser getting 1x offense 2x defense. It should have been "until the quarter ends or someone doesn't score" instead of sudden death 2 drives in. -

We lost for 2 reasons. Our defense caved in 13 seconds. Then in OT only one team got the opportunity to score because of a coin flip. -

ugh, thought it did away with sudden death. Still don't like it but its better than what it was. Coin flip winner still gets 2 opportunities to score on offense and 1 opportunity to defend Coin flip loser gets 1 opportunity to score on offsense and 2 opportunities to defend Which would you rather have? -
I've been saying they should do this for years. I am curious why does the NFL even bother with networks anyway? Why not take the whole thing and absorb all of the ad revenue through streaming? Admittedly I am oblivious to what the networks contribute outside of airing, but are the networks that crucial of a piece? Maybe its too much overhead for the NFL... In the end I should be able to grab any NFL game at any time and watch it (live with commercials, or post game with subscription fee/no commercials), just like I would stream a tv show. Why hide your content behind barriers when you can sell it?

Awesome! It is only right and should have been changed back when the Pats beat the Chiefs. -
What are the protections for taxpayers (and bills fans) that the NFL just doesnt change their mind in 10-15 years and move the team? Will they own the stadium? Or will we own it and just be stuck with it if they ever decided to jump ship? 20-30 years we could be looking at another ownership change. Hope the stars dont align for NFL wanting another new stadium, WNY saying no, and whoever the Pegula's sell or will the team to say they are moving to... I dont know, Toronto?

Tyreek seeking a trade [Now: Traded to the Dolphins]
What a Tuel replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a great way to put it. -
agreed. Scared me for a second. Unless it came with a 1st round pick, mccaffrey and we traded for metcalf or another top wr, no way. Also would miss the Allen/Diggs chemistry.

I will have to watch the rest, but the 1st several highlights give me the impression he just barely gets in the endzone on short runs. The first long run he gets tackled from behind. I have visions of 2 yard gains on 3rd and goal dancing in my head but after dinner I will check out the rest.

On paper is the key. Browns were loaded. Dolphins were loaded. Chargers were loaded. Colts were loaded. None of which have done anything significant lately. -

I am gonna have to go with this. I mean they literally put him and Brady on the same Madden cover and the media went crazy comparing old goat to new goat. One super bowl and already a goat. -

OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England
What a Tuel replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
"we've gone to 4 straight when no one else has" is usually in response to someone mocking us by saying we lost 4 straight super bowls. Usually just pointing out the significance of getting there 4 times in a row even though we lost. -
I'd swap out Cleveland for Cincinatti, Watson hasn't played in a year and im not convinced he is a game changer for Cleveland until they build their team back up. Which they can't because they gave away their future and cap. Think it will come down to the final games whether Raiders or Colts take the final spot. You are probably right with Indy, but Carr may take a step up with Adams as opposed to Ryan with a new team.

Did McDermott's seat just get a little warmer?
What a Tuel replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills fans are impatient for a super bowl win and rightfully so, but sometimes its to their detriment. Addition by subtraction is not going to solve the no super bowl problem. Beane is building a roster to fit McDermotts style, changing it out bc he didn't win quick enough is a step back. And even if it isnt then how do we know we dont get another Marrone? To me the only way you subtract McDermott is for an arguably better coach that has won multiple super bowls. Who is that in the last 20 years? Bill Belichick and Tom Coughlin? -
So...where does this money come from for Von???
What a Tuel replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Think they are more pointing out the people who always say its unrealistic to speculate on getting a big name player because we can't afford it. This certainly proves that it is not unrealistic. It could have repercussions down the road but as you say, i trust the gm to work that all out. -
I havent done a comparison but it feels like we lost more than we signed....

Who is to blame for our lack of Lombardis?
What a Tuel replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs. They had more talent and better coaching the last 2 years (and home field advantage). That doesn't mean McDermott and team can't overcome that in the future. Its not a static thing, it is ever changing. The answer you are looking for is McDermott, and Beane so you can rail on them but in reality they are our best shot to win a lombardi. -

I mean Mahomes scored a field goal in 13 seconds, sure but.... Josh scored a touchdown in 49 seconds before that. and Mahomes scored a touchdown in 62 seconds before that and Josh scored a touchdown in 114 seconds before that and a bit earlier Josh scored a touchdown in 10 seconds before that It was par for the course. Both defenses were stopping nothing.

3 sets of 3 plays or 3 plays altogether with the potential to score 3 times? I ask because teams should be able to play the style they want. A rushing team trying to rush 3 times for 3 points, each from the 10 yard line is far more difficult than a passing team who just has to throw the ball into the end zone 3 times.

The talk about the cap preventing us from winning multiple super bowls when i just want one to start 😂
