How Often Do Players Get Paid?
What a Tuel replied to Storm Front's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know the Watkins family's financial situation prior to him being drafted, but a jump to 12 million dollars....there's a lot I could do with 12 million dollars. -

First step in the Raiders process to move back to LA
What a Tuel replied to SF Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That has been my theory with the rumors (and near confirmation, it will be next season) of playoff expansion, it would make sense to add a couple teams (I didn't think about 4, but 2) at the same time so the playoffs aren't watered down too much. As for the diluting of players, there are so many teams that just don't have the space to keep and develop good players. Adding "424" players would certainly make it so that teams would have to put more into developing their players than just acquiring "elite" players. -
Watkins will start no doubt about it. I wouldn't set our hopes/dreams on him having a huge season though. I think Woods beats him in yards this year at least. I am not looking forward to the inevitable hate for the pick when he doesn't have 1,500 yards and 15 tds though.
-
Lynch had 650 carries at 2601 yards 17 tds in 3 years Spiller had 516 carries at 2738 yards 12 tds in 3 years I know you really want to rail on Spiller not starting that first year but geez. Oh well. Agree to disagree. Go Bills!
-
I wasn't comparing anybody to anybody. That's all you buddy. The rest of us already hashed this out, but what do you think is the reason Lynch does better in Seattle? Do you think those reasons if used in Buffalo, were just excuses? And if so, then aren't "excuses" valid points as to why a player isn't performing to expectations, seeing as how Lynch does better in Seattle?
-
I agree completely. So it isn't as black and white as this guy sucks or this guy is great. There are a whole lot of factors that contribute to a players ability to play. Those aren't excuses, those are real things that affect players, they aren't robots with set skill levels. That's all Im saying.
-
He does comparably better on Seattle though. He was great on the Bills though. I am just curious what the reasoning behind the increase in performance is, if those reasons are just excuses?
-
So what is the excuse for Lynch? He just decided to play better in Seattle? http://www.nfl.com/p...2495663/profile Or is opportunity, supporting cast, barring injury, actually a real thing?

Interesting retort. Enjoy your self-serving poll. I voted stay btw.

Oh and if you were wondering why people are always so hostile towards you, its because of this. You didn't have to blatantly say it for people to get the vibe that you are just hoping/wishing for players you dislike to fail so that you can say you are right. Because if you are wrong, the player is not overrated, and you are "wanting them to fail" so that you can be right. Which is downright sad for a Bills fan to be doing. If you are complaining about the above observation I made about why fellow posters/bills fans are hostile towards you, then never mind. All I was trying to say was to try not putting being right ahead of being a fan to the degree that you stated above. I don't "hate" you, I don't wish you were gone, or would stop posting, or any of the other nonsense you stated. Consider it withdrawn if this is the result of criticism.

His seasons where he has started he is 1-1 if you want to bring it down to that level. Most people would be happy if he returned to his 2012 form. He seems to have a 50-50 shot at doing that. Are you saying you wouldn't be happy if he did? He was phenomenal that season. And before you bring up the stats remember, stats don't reflect the actual game Could they have possibly went after Brown because Jackson is 33? Are you saying we are going to go back to a single workhorse rb with Brown? If so then I would be interested to know what you see in Brown that you are putting so much faith in him Oh and if you were wondering why people are always so hostile towards you, its because of this.

So you a pushing for a guy to start (Bryce Brown) that couldn't push LeSean Mccoy out of the starting position? He must be horrible. Not every year, but I believe the potential is there. Time for my question - Are the Bills better with Spiller?
-
I can see that. I also think this team is better with Spiller though regardless of if he is the next Barry Sanders or not. Agreed. Depth for once!
-
I might have been looking at it occasionally, but no I wasn't posting.
-
To be honest, I stopped reading right here. You seem to be confusing real football with fantasy football.
-
Seriously. This thread is full of a bunch of BS. 1 good year out of 4? Really? Don't want to take into account he didn't start the first 1 and a half years? Want to discount the 6 games that he actually played and did awesome in 2011? Want to discount the phenomenal year he had in 2012? Want to discount the nearly 1000 yard season he had last year despite the injury? And then you go on to say you are all in on Bryce Brown? Who has had 0 good years? Fumble prone? I mean I like Brown as much as the next guy, but geez could you be "all in" on such little evidence with Brown? and all out with Spiller despite what he has accomplished? It's almost laughable if I didnt think you were serious.
-
I wish I would've known. My brother lives out there, and I believe he has a Spiller jersey.
-
Wrong. Finished. Done. No more argument. That is flat out your opinion. The rest is just a nonsensical rant that says an injury is just an excuse. It's absurd. When CJ is gone, I wonder who you will chase out next? I know that Gilmore guy is pretty injury prone.
-
Excuses for him every year? What are you talking about? He was phenomenal in 2012. and in 2011 he filled in for Jackson in the last 6 games with 446 and 3 tds. In 2013 he sprains his ankle still puts up nearly 1,000 yard season, and you are complaining? It sounds like you are the one making excuses why we shouldn't like him. Im not even going to respond to the problem with a RB having a high ankle sprain. I guess he was just making it up.
-
Nope. I used to have Game Rewind but let it lapse after last season. Did you hear it showed the same in 2012? Maybe he was missing the holes because of his ankle? I can tell I didn't like some of the plays that were being called for him. That is for sure. Would you be happy with 2012 like production from Spiller? I was just thinking how everyone is such a fan of Jackson now. I didn't visit this site as frequently in 2012 but were people calling for Jackson to be released/traded when Spiller was doing well in 2012? I know quite a people have flip flopped on the two RB's. It's great we aren't coaches.
-
If you think Spiller is injury prone then every RB in the league is injury prone. RB's get banged up. He has started the vast majority of his games though. As for inconsistency? He is fairly consistent statistically overall looking at the years he has started and the number of carries. If he didn't have a banged up leg last year he might've matched 2012. Still 933 yards on 202 carries isn't bad. If you are talking about in game play by play? Well as others have said, running him up the middle isn't playing to his strengths. I mean if you want to question my football knowledge that 's fine, but I suggest you look at other variables when talking about football rather than this guy sucks, or that guy is great independent of any situational variables (i.e. in your world "excuses").
-
Its already agreed that once Jackson goes, Spiller can't be the sole back, but like I said you are crazy if you think a Brown Dixon combo will make the Bills better than Jackson Spiller, or even Brown Spiller. Absolutely nuts. We need to extend Spiller period. Edit: I dispute that Spiller is inconsistent or injury prone, but that has already been hashed and rehashed in this thread.
-
I think I have good cause to undervalue them both. Funny how you have all the reasons in the world to dislike CJ Spiller, but you want a player who is statistically close to or equal to Spiller, (I would argue they aren't close at all) and a guy who has less than 500 career yards in 4 years. I like the acquisition of depth at RB but if we obtained them as replacements for Jackson and Spiller?...Forget that. To each his own though.
