I would support the ability of the Owner of the name to do whatever he wants to do with his property. If he loses sales by it then so be it, the choice should remain with him. The idea that the American public needs to be guilted into bullying him into changing it is annoying. I am not sure what changes if the name ever changes? Less hurt feelings? Doubtful. More respect for Native Americans? Doubtful. I take issue with the SJW's who see it as their civic duty to correct anything and everything they perceive as an "injustice" through bullying, demonizing, insulting, and baiting people into changing for the good of their agenda. If you disagree you are just a braindead redneck who can't get with their times. That's their game though. Problem with the AC being too cold? Put on a damn sweater like a normal person or wear pants like the rest of us. Can't dress fashionably because of it? Wooest you.

Your argument also boils down to people in poverty doing everything they can to educate themselves, and do better for themselves. This is simply not true. The vast majority of people are perfectly fine where they are and simply wish upon a better lifestyle while exerting no additional effort to make it so. This also isn't limited to the impoverished. The poll in this thread is a monument to that. Rather than ensure your lifestyle is sustainable, the majority of people choose to invest in the short-term enjoyment while not being concerned for the future. -
Bills related Time Travel - What would you change?

How would one change wide right? Tell Norwood to kick a little to the left? Wide left may have a whole new meaning if we did that! For some reason I have been stuck on Roethlisberger. I'd say making that trade happen to move ahead of the Steelers would've been nice. Or not trading our 2005 1st round pick in 2004 to get Losman. Stick with Lee Evans in 2004. In 2005 with the 20th pick the Buffalo Bills select Aaron Rodgers. Maybe either qb doesn't work out the same way, but I'm game for going back in time and making it happen! Has to be better than Losman/Holcomb/Edwards/Fitzpatrick/Manuel/Lewis/Tuel/Orton right? -

I just put a damn roof on my house. I found this pretty hilarious and relevant to the current generation growing up. -
That's what it really comes down to isn't it? We say "all is not lost", they think it means "all is well". Flip it around and can they say the same? They say "all is lost", and we think it means...."all is lost". I mean what else can you take from the "incompetence", "fire whaley", "fire the medical staff" comments? (not specifically you Barley)

The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity

JohnC, while you articulated Jerry Sullivan's job rather well, and I do think there is a place for the media to "challenge" an organization, I sincerely hope they are not giving any credence to Sullivan's opinions on anything. Even if he riles the fanbase in support of whatever the clickbait article of the month is. -

Be careful, they are having a kumbaya moment over there in the NNN thread, and the justification for their doom and gloom is stronger than ever in their minds. I agree though. We can complain all we want about the last 16 years, but no one really knows whats going to happen this year until the games are played. Last year was the same doom and gloom about the offense, and most people were wrong about how effective it would be. On the other hand, most people thought the defense was going to be great, and they were wrong. They think that because we didn't make the playoffs they were right in their predictions all the same. Their predictions are meaningless in the grand scheme. Sure it's a message board with opinions and discussions, but I take everyone's "we will be lucky to win 9 games" with a grain of salt and a . They don't really know, they are just playing the odds.

Do the Bills Need New Medical Staff/Trainers?
What a Tuel replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The going theory is now that they quite clearly knew about the surgery, Whaley talked up the draft pick as a day one starter to get fans excited (as opposed to the truth and subsequent pitchforking). Then they played up the re-injury as a reason to do the surgery. If true, they were obviously very clumsy with the whole thing if they thought it would be believable for the fans. The part that sticks out to me though, is that they are willing to push their strategy and take the players they want despite the anticipated public outcry of "we know better - don't do that". Which is great. I am glad they don't listen to the mob. -

TSW is becoming a lot like these college campuses where students demand safe zones because they feel "threatened" Rather than students it's a select group of posters who shout down anyone that dares express on opinion contrary to the 16 year drought/everything sucks view. And if that doesn't work, to ridicule despite never having debated the merits of the opinion they disagree with. The objective seems only to suppress those opinions that in any way seem favorable to the direction of the team (see: 16 years) What's hilarious is that there are actual Bills fans who can't imagine why the team would get favorable attention. Kinda like those students who expected to be able to throw temper tantrums and get everything they demanded (Rex fired / Whaley fired / Myles Jack etc etc etc) Pretty god damn hilarious that it fits the negative side better. Thanks for that. -
RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University
What a Tuel replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You'd think from the way they make it sound that the players they interview weren't worthy of being picked at all. Just Rex's favs. -
It will make him better than playing with it. He played with it in college, didn't he? Or am I misunderstanding when he injured it?
-
No I believe what was said was that after he has the surgery, he will have the full range of motion which will be a good thing. Which is factually true. Do you disagree?

So should Whaley exclude Clemson from the list of schools he drafts from so that he makes you less upset? -
This thread is so full of greatness. I'd imagine they are saying he will be back by camp hopefully, and that it isn't the optimal scenario, but we will get by it. It'd be awesome if they were talking about spleens though.

While of course it isn't optimal and I get your point that it is half a year or at worst a year wasted for someone drafted at 19. The point that matters though, is that he was the best player available that also filled a need. Then the facts changed, and he needed surgery before the season instead of after. Blame Whaley, or the Medical staff all you want for not being 100% sure it could wait until after the season, but in reality, maybe they just don't see it as a big of deal as you do. Maybe they see a player with potential who they wanted to draft, and were reasonably sure the shoulder thing wouldn't be a big deal after the surgery, and they are getting the player they want. I mean at worst during these first 4-5 games we will see a gaping hole in our defense where Lawson should be, and we will lose some games. Some were poking fun at some reporter attributing multiple wins towards the first 3 rookies combined let alone just Lawson though. At best, someone steps up for those 4-5 games, and it's a bonus when Lawson comes back. In the end the surgery will be a blip on his career. -
I am pretty sure I know exactly what it means. Do you? Bashing the Bills based on anything but the last few years is irrational. You guys love to hammer the streak home though. And yes predicting the demise of the Bills at 2-14 every year is irrational. There were quite a few saying it last year with our QB situation, and now quite a few saying it this year with Rex Ryan.
