  1. As others have mentioned he has a 4 year contract with a 5th year team option. Also, I know I said 6 games, but I also said .5 years which is half of the season, or 8 games. There is a range in the recovery time after all. Either way, Whaley picked his guy. You can attack him all you want if Shaq doesn't turn out, but it isn't crazy for a GM to look at the long term worth of the player rather than just the first half year. Whaley made the informed decision that Shaq was worth it, and now time will tell. I wouldn't want it any other way.
  2. What constitutes the end of the world? I don't know, the world has never ended. But how about not burning Whaley at the stake for making draft choices that extends beyond the first 6 games of that players career? Yes, the next 4.5 years outweigh the next .5 years, 16 years without playoffs, or not. It is common sense.
  3. Brownsfan999 "dooooooommmmmeeeeeddd" Seriously though, was RG3 just never any good throwing?
  4. Draftniks and then the common viewers who took to youtube after the trade up to watch his highlight videos and subsequently comment that half of his highlights were screens that won't work in the NFL. Or that he was always wide open....I guess that means bad opponents? I am not sure people truly appreciate what Watkins can do. Of course you have the correct response to that line of thought!
  5. Give EJ Manuel a chance. Rail on Tyrod Taylor. (Maybe I am wrong on this, but I distinctly remember reading some vicious back and forth about Manuel vs Taylor during the competition) We shouldn't cut Mario Williams even though he half assed it last year. This Shaq Lawson guy is injured, and will be out 5-6 games. To sum it up, I'd say you are a Bills player homer. I have no doubt that if Lawson turns out to be decent you will be the first person to lobby for re-signing him.
  6. If only there was a head coaching vacancy for him. #allthespotsaretaken Edit: Off topic, I still can't get over how bad the Jaguars helmets look. Change the damn things already.
  7. Team (ppg ranking) Patriots 1x (3rd) Giants (6th) Chiefs (9th) (edit: I could be swayed on this one) Jets 2x (11th) Eagles (13th) Jaguars (14th - despite Manuel's 20 point donation) In comparison the defense failed to hold the following top 15 offenses in 2015 down enough for our offense to compete: Patriots 1x (3rd) Bengals (7th) Redskins (10th)
  8. Back to square one with that call then
  9. This is good information. I always wondered why they thought Kolb would be a better alternative than Fitz outside of cost. I hated the Kolb signing, but if this were true, at least it had some reasoning behind it.
  10. I believe it should be mentioned that the Bills medical staff did not "miss" or "whiffed" on anything. Vic Carrucci who has been widely critical of the Bills this past few weeks, has this to say about it. Not aimed at you section122, but as for Sammy being 50/50 to be injured, he has missed 3 damn games. I am not sure if you guys play fantasy football, but it is rather eye opening how many of these star WR's and any players really, are constantly playing through nagging injuries. It's almost as if AJ Green wasn't dealing with a toe issue in 2014, or Dez Bryant didn't break his foot last year, or DeSean Jackson's hamstring injury, or Antonio Brown's concussion. But yep, porcelain Sammy. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2016/05/29/bills-mailbag/ @TimtheCommish: How much do you think they knew about Shaq's injury? How does "off the bus day 1 starter" go to out for up to 1/2 season? VC: I'm positive the Bills' medical staff was every bit as aware of Shaq Lawson's damaged shoulder as any of its counter parts in the NFL. And that includes the ones working for the teams that took him off of their draft boards. I'm positive Whaley and Ryan and the Pegulas were fully briefed that surgery was forthcoming either immediately after the draft or during or after his rookie season. This was a case of making a pure value judgement that simply getting the player was more important than any risk associated with being without him for part of the season. I think the Bills were hoping against hope that Lawson would push through this year as best as possible, but at some point during rookie minicamp, he came to the realization that what he was able to do successfully in college just might not work as well in the NFL. He saw the operation as being better for his chances of living up to lofty expectations. The Bills had no choice but to go along with his wishes. Once Lawson fully recovers from the surgery and his operating with two healthy shoulders -- something he didn't have while establishing himself as one of the more dynamic edge rushers in college football -- Ryan believes he'll have a critical piece that was missing from his defense in 2015. Now, if things go sideways, especially on defense, during the time Lawson is missing, there will justifiably be questions raised about the wisdom of the gamble. On the other hand, if he's able to play in the second half of the season and make a significant impact (or even show the promise of great things to come), the reaction will be different.
  11. I think it's until the country sees the Bills as a team playing well and making the playoffs they won't care to take a closer look at the talent of our players. That jab at Tyrod just seems like bitterness though. They hope we don't find a QB before they do, just like we hope Hackenberg sucks it up for them.
  12. Yep we will just write off the 2 out of 3 good seasons in the last 3 years as aberrations. His only poor seasons were his rookie year, and the 2 seasons he was injured. So here's a question I haven't at least asked yet. Which is it? Are you arguing that McCoy was never good? Or are you arguing he has declined with age starting at age 24? Or both I guess?
  13. Didn't think I'd have to post this here. Bills have 5 Jets players on their team. That's it. 5. Two of which have never played for Rex. Lattimore has only 1 year on the Jets. 4 with the Packers. Retread though? The other Jets "retreads" are: Barnes (2 yrs with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) Salas (2 yrs with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) Enemkpali (1 yr with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) Powell (1 yr with Jets - going on 2nd with Buffalo) You'd be better off complaining about the number of Williams on the team. 5 if you were wondering. Edit: I only see 3 players from Clemson. Just scanned it though.
  14. 'Their offer—three years, with $12 million payable in the first year, plus reports of $6 million in each of the two years afterward, with NFL Media's Ian Rapoport adding that $15 million is to be guaranteed" Is this reasonable? Great $15 guarenteed. But what if he wants to play in 2017 or even 2018? He would be signing away 3 years of football for $24 million. Who knows if he would actually play til 2018, but it seems like it would restrict him if he were to sign this contract. Edit: And by restrict him, I mean practically confirm this will be his last year. Why play for $6 million a year after 2016 when Brock Osweiler is making $18 million a year. I may be bias in not wanting him to sign though haha.
  15. Edit: Scratch that, misread the dates. It's funny to see the facebook fans crying about the cover picture of him in a Jet uniform though.
  16. Is there another story out there? From Dunne's story, we have a quote from Ryan saying this: And Henderson's agent saying this:
  17. Hasty generalization says Rex didn't talk to Henderson, but it doesn't mean no one did. We have rushed to a conclusion with insufficient evidence or facts. One fact (Bills medical) became apparent, and changed our conclusion. Rex didn't talk to Henderson, but any further speculation has no basis in facts or evidence.
  18. Direct quote from Rex, but maybe Roman or Kromer reached out to Henderson and relayed information to Rex. Maybe the Bills medical staff filled them all in. Maybe they didn't feel the need to talk about a non football medical condition of one of their players. We are trying to provide oversight and criticism for a coaching staff when we don't have 95% of the picture, flipping the unknown pieces to a negative and assuming incompetence. Kind of like some were doing with the medical staff until it was disclosed, that they are indeed in contact with him. Negative piece flipped back over because it is known now.
  19. Yep long enough to exclude his 2nd best season Not convenient at all. Let me try. Excluding this past season in which he was injured (let's call it a....aberration), his prior 2 seasons he averaged 4.67 YPC. Not too shabby.
  20. Sammy Watkins had 17.5 YPR in 2015. Sammy Watkins had 1.0 YPC in 2015. Do you see the difference? But yeah keep criticizing me as if I am confusing the two or going back and forth using different terms when you are doing the same thing. In your world, yards per touch would be a valid term because people call handoffs touches too! So sorry I confused what you were saying though. Edit: To prevent further confusion, I fully understand you meant to include both receptions and carries in this mystery stat. Edit: As for cherry picking, why did you stop at 4 years? Was that a just a round amount of time? Why not 5 years? Why not 3? That is called cherry picking. Nothing changed with McCoy in the last 5-6 years that you should be discounting half of his career. Of course you'll claim old age, and decline. Did he start declining at age 25 in 2012? I'm still waiting on that source though. The burden of proof is on you buddy. I didn't make the claim, you did. For all I know, it's true. I'd like to see the source though.
  21. And you are saying YPR when you clearly mean YPC. What's your point? You jump all over the place picking cherries, it's difficult to tell exactly what you mean. How's that source coming on McCoy being dead last from every player in the league for yards per TOUCH in 2014?
  22. In the last 2 out of 4 years he was injured for a quarter of the season. So your 3 out of the last 4 years nonsense is cherry picking stats. 2009 4.1 YPC *Rookie 2010 5.2 YPC 2011 4.8 YPC 2012 4.2 YPC (Injured, missed a quarter of season) 2013 5.1 YPC 2014 4.2 YPC (Only year outside of Rookie season where he wasn't injured, and then didn't perform up to his standard. He was then traded) 2015 4.4 YPC (Injured, missed a quarter of season) As for lowest yards per touch out of everyone in 2014, let me see a source for that. This site has him 22nd. Above Chris Ivory (198 carries) Alfred Morris (265 carries), Giovani Bernard (168 carries), Matt Forte (266 carries) etc... http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/rush-yards-per-attempt/2014/
  23. Chip year 1 was an aberration? Sure, i'll give it to you. I'm not sure how you'll explain away the following though. 2009 945 all purpose yards (637 rushing) *Rookie 2010 1,672 all purpose yards (1,080 rushing) 2011 1,624 all purpose yards (1,309 rushing) 2012 1,213 all purpose yards (840 rushing) Injured 4 games. He was almost 35 at that point. 2013 2,146 all purpose yards (1,607 rushing) 2014 1,474 all purpose yards (1,319 rushing) noticeable drop in pass targets. From watching, I saw Chip give more opportunities to Sproles (57 carries and 63 passing targets) and Polk (46 carries). Rift between Chip and McCoy? No he was almost 40 at this point. It's age. 2015 1,187 all purpose yards (895 rushing) Injured 4 games. Again age? But yes, we will chalk McCoy's "decline" to age, and not getting those 2,146 all purpose yards again (it was an aberration I tell you!) despite having a phenomenal career surrounding it. Keep running to the sideline McCoy!
  24. What exactly is a "who's who" of undrafted, or street free agents? Putting aside your obvious derogatory meaning behind the labeling of those pickups, let's go with it - who wouldn't qualify as one of those 2 categories at this point? I think the sole answer is a trade?
