The shots sounded like an assault weapon so I think you are on the right track. "This underlines the need for gun control, choosing to do nothing is another option, not one that I like" will be thrown around.

I guess that makes it even then? This stuff makes me sick. They have the shooter confined to a building at this point I guess. Swat is talking to them.

I really dislike the argument of the penalty of death far outweighed the crime. Also known as "Judge, Jury, and Executioner", that is used when someone did something wrong but the police "executed" them. If this is an unacceptable outcome during the commission of a crime then we the people need to redefine the use of lethal force for the Police. However despite recent cases I think the protection of our police force who are at high risk a lot of the time grants them that justification. Yes there will be mistakes. Yes they are tragedies. 42 police officers killed in the line of duty from gunfire in 2015. I think if we did that in reference to the number of police officers we would find it close to the very rate that everyone is also upset about.

Andre Johnson wants a shot
What a Tuel replied to KollegeStudnet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So if LeSean McCoy is basically 30, then Matt Forte who is 30 now, with nearly 400 more carries, is what? 34? What about Frank Gore who is 33 now and has 1,000 more carries than McCoy? When did he go over the hill? DeMarco Murray 28? He has 500 less carries than McCoy! We should knock off 3 years. The Titans got a fresh 25 year old back! Subjecting other players status and health to other players is ridiculous. A player is done when he is done. There are plenty of examples of players playing longer than expected, and players not doing as well as expected. That said, I would give Andre Johnson a try but not a guarantee. If he can't make the roster then we know not to waste a roster spot on him. -
Do statistics like that even prove anything? How many of those 468 were justified? How many of the 248 were justified? Can we honestly say there is an agenda out there because of this though? Aren't there statistics out there that say a certain race is subject to more gun violence than others? Why is that? Does it correlate with why there are more deaths? I mean this is why there should be studies done, but they would be disregarded any which way, so I guess why bother, we will just keep the circle of hate going.

I mean we can go back and forth on this but the bottom line is that we are blamed for doing something in 2003 and destabilizing the region, wouldn't the same have been true in the 70's and 80's? I think another question to ask is can someone who isn't a brutal dictator retain control of the region? We tried giving Iraq free elections but they are still fracturing. What is the way forward here that won't be interpreted as wrong? I don't think there is a good answer, especially when the American people have zero will to proceed with any solid plan. I think the same could be said about the past foreign policy as well. Saddam was a brutal dictator who came to power under his own but what was the alternative?

So shouldn't studies be done to identify the common escalation of events that lead to these shootings happening? Is there more disrespect/disregard for police authority? In some of these cases why is the person always resisting? Is there an underlying problem with police that has them on edge? Have there been recent shootings of police that have the police themselves on edge? I mean these police officers are human and they don't want to be the next victim either, right or wrong, and since they are human, they will make mistakes, but something tells me the sensitivities and differences between an officer in North Tonawanda, and an officer in Buffalo isn't about race, it is because they have seen some

The Writing is On The Walls. Bye, bye Bills
What a Tuel replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am curious - what ever happened to the stadium fund or whatever? Has the money been returned to the contributors? Are they still holding it for a new stadium? Is someone living a life of luxury since we are secure in Buffalo now? It's kind of been lost with the Pegula Purchase. -
Saddam did keep a lot of those groups under his thumb, and his activities against Iran suited our agenda, but make no mistake we considered removing him on many occasions, but did not like the chances of whoever replaced him being better. This idea that we just left Saddam alone to do whatever he wants as long as he suited our agenda isn't as black and white as that. Like many other foreign policy.
-
I'll also add "Saddam is our fault because we put him in power" as another claim. We thought plenty about removing him, but were not confident anyone replacing him would be any better. Either way, we get the blame for waiting too long to remove him, and on the other end, the blame for removing him.

Topic of the day 7/5: Rivalries, do they matter?
What a Tuel replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it matters if it motivates the team. The players are motivated against the Patriots because they want to beat some of the best. We want them to beat the Patriots because we take comfort in the belief that they are the source of our pain. So fan rivalries no. Player "rivalries" yes. That said, I will always have a soft spot for squishing the fish! -

I say 20 years from now because right now people like you will argue with them, but 20 years from now the 90's kids will be in their 40's and the younger generation will do more revising than we will do correcting.

I am starting to think Hilary is just disliked enough by everyone that Trump may actually have a chance. I can't believe it has come to this. Either choice is awful. Romney would have this thing locked up if he would have ran again.
-
Nice find. You'd think facts would stop these people in their tracks but I guarantee 20 years from now, people will revise history to believe Saddam wasn't that bad, and Iraq was much better off with him in control.

Just saw a post on facebook reminiscing about how there were no suicide attacks in Iraq pre 2003 invasion. Wait for them to start hailing Saddam Hussein as a man of the people, and we tore him and his stable government down for our own purposes. We may have been ill advised to invade a country we weren't prepared to follow through with, but Saddam Hussein was a monster that deserved to be put down for the atrocities committed against his own people.

When we clinch a playoff spot...
What a Tuel replied to Hot Buffalo Wings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if you want the goal to be a Super Bowl you have to make the playoffs first. We haven't made the playoffs in 16 long years. That is a long time. People criticize us for having Super Bowl hopes any given year because we don't ever even make the playoffs, so yes, making the playoffs adds some legitimacy to our team and is something to be excited enough about to storm the field. We need to end this drought. -
Didn't they rearrange their travel schedules to link up at this point? Who does this to discuss their grandchildren?

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
What a Tuel replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't quite understand it. 2,935 Deaths related to firearms in California in 2014. I mean clearly it's in response to San Bernandino but what is this going to do? Assuming that there were a similar amount of gun deaths in 2015, what about the other 2,900 gun victims? What do these bills do to help them? I mean great, you stopped another San Bernandino....maybe (probably not), but you left the other 2,900 people to die. It must be because they are racist, and don't care about the lower class because that's exactly how this would be argued if the parties were reversed in this matter. Brown approved bills that would ban the sale of semiautomatic rifles equipped with bullet buttons allowing the ammunition magazines to be easily detached and replaced. Require an ID and background check to purchase ammunition and create a new state database of ammunition owners Ban possession of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 bullets. Restrict the loaning of guns without background checks to close family members. -
As much as I dislike government intervention and how crappy public wifi will probably be just like the free wifi at home depot is awful, the government does need to get involved in the gouging that is taking place for mobile data let alone the absurdity and ridiculousness of capping home internet.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
What a Tuel replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jun/30/concealed-carrier-takes-down-shooter-at-south-caro/ Of course despite fitting their definition of a "mass shooting" they will claim this wasn't really a mass shooting, and probably blame the concealed carrier for endangering the lives of everyone around him. -
Well we wouldn't let them restrict constitutional rights based on a arbitrary secret list so they give up. Nothing more they can do.

Oh and Affleck also falls right into my point of "we can't criticize their religion for fear of persecuting them". We can't have zero tolerance for the beliefs of inequality for women, death penalty for homosexuals, freedom to criticize the religion without fear of death and reprisal because they don't all believe that? Those are very real things deserving of criticism! Christianity can't get away without being blamed for the Orlando Nightclub attacks because Christianity of course created the repressed gay culture in the United States, but in their warped minds it would be racist, and intolerant to criticize the muslim faith for that very thing. http://dailycaller.com/2016/06/12/aclu-lawyers-blames-christians-for-orlando-terror-attack/ "Chase Strangio, a staff attorney with the ACLU’s LGBT and AIDS Project, claimed the social and political environment cultivated by Christian conservatives in recent months was to blame for the shooting at Pulse, a nightclub popular with Orlando’s LGBT community. Strangio also called for solidarity between American Muslims and LGBT communities, arguing both are maligned and oppressed by the religious right."

Good video. Kind of wish Affleck would've shut up and let the people who know what they are talking about talk on either side.
