  1. If Kaepernick is a person of color would he not be oppressed? We are told that it is a systemic issue that can happen to every person of color right? So why isn't Kaepernick oppressed? Man white people have a very detailed and complicated manner of subconsciously and unknowingly dishing out the racism we are accused of. As for Kaepernick, he is more of an idiot because his entire premise is based on anecdotal evidence. It simply isn't true at all on the scale that he is talking about.
  2. I was going to say the same thing. I can't tell if this broke out into a real disagreement about the rule from the actual joke.
  3. Even if NFL fans aren't discussing it, it is kind of ignoring the elephant in the room. Furious outrage at the NFL for allowing pervasive domestic violence in its culture by giving light or minimum punishments to perpetrators, but prosecutors whose job it is to pursue cases such as these and ensure that people who commit crimes are punished isn't shown in a bad light at all. Almost like it is up to their discretion to charge people or not, but the NFL does it and SCANDAL!!! It just seems so backwards.
  4. The Bills defense held them to a field goal that first drive taking 8:19 The Bills offense scored in 1:25 seconds which is fine. No one is complaining. The Bills defense then held the Jets to another field goal on a 5:16 drive The Bills offense went 3 and out in 1:38 seconds The Bills defense allowed a touch down in a 2:15 minute drive The Bills offense punted on a 3:20 drive The Bills defense allowed a touch down in a 3:54 drive The Bills offense drove down and got a field goal before the half in 3:48 2nd Half The Bills offense scored a TD in 0:51 seconds. The Bills defense scores a fumble recovery for a TD that took 2:54 The Bills defense forces a punt that took 1:42 The Bills offense goes 3 and out in 0:54 seconds. The Bills defense allows a Jets TD drive that took 6:27 The Bills offense throws a pick in 2:20 seconds The Bills defense holds the Jets to a FG that took 4:12 The Bills offense turns the ball over on downs in 3:37 seconds The Bills defense allows a Jets TD Drive that went 3:01 The Bills offense drives the ball down and scores a TD in 2:45 seconds The Bills offense didn't have a sustained drive all game. To say that doesn't affect the defense doesn't sound too bright imo.
  5. Ouch. Pryor is questionable isn't he? The real kicker is my opponent had Zach Miller, and Eddie Royal starting on Tuesday. Dropped Miller for Hunter Henry on Wednesday and then Royal was ruled out for this botched game. They dodged a damn bullet and I jumped in front of it
  6. Of course I pick up Meredith thinking, how can you go wrong with so many targets a game?
  7. He is talking about resting starters to get them to 100% when they might be able to play, but not at 100% and by extension down the stretch not at 100%. I think he fully agrees that we should try to win those games outside of resting people like McCoy, and Woods (I think Woods is good to deal with the problem and play anyway though)
  8. Every week is a different game. Let's just get by Miami and then see what happens. If we are 5-2, I like your strategy, I don't like giving up on games, but if Shady is 50% then yes, rest him for the post bye week stretch. With 7 AFC games taking place in that stretch, it is the most important aspect of our season. But like I said, let's just get by Miami Sunday. It is not a given game.
  9. I mean how can you possibly make a 1st round draft selection with beyond the first 6 games in mind?!? #droppingtheball
  10. The guy literally blamed McCoy's hamstring injury on drinking alcohol. I wouldn't give him too much consideration.
  11. Are these guys any good? I get a bad feeling about this face....
  12. How is Bennett after that dirty hit? He has been questionable all week for me. Is that when he hurt his ankle? I'd go with Kelce, and Ivory. How about Brees vs Mariota again? Last time I asked on this board it was a universal "you don't sit Brees", however hear me out. Brees is playing in Kansas City and sucks outdoors/away Home - 38 points Away - 16 Home - 31 Away - 16 Home - 40 Away - ? Kansas City has only allowed Roethlisberger to have a good game so far this year and are the 12 ranked pass defense. Mariota is at home playing Indy, the 28th ranked pass defense. Mariota has been a great QB as of late with consecutive 33 and 38 point performances.
  13. I'm not sure they said they thought it was isolated. I think they admitted to knowing there was a lot more to it, but the police, and the victim wouldn't assist their investigation. You may disagree that this is the appropriate method of punishment, but I don't believe the NFL is trying to cover up or ignore anything. If this evidence was presented to them in the offseason, do you think they still go with 1 game?
  14. I don't see the huge issue here. The courts aren't doing anything to Josh Brown because charges were dropped, and we are putting more pressure on his employer to penalize him than the courts. In the meantime, the NFL reached out to the involved parties including police, who refused to provide them the evidence that they requested, and advised the victim that she didn't need to speak with NFL investigators. Based on that evidence, they suspended Josh Brown 1 game. When the evidence became available, they showed a willingness to revisit the case and consider the new evidence for further discipline.
  15. Oakland isn't giving anyone anything for a new stadium and in addition to that, I read somewhere in this thread or a link from this thread, that they still owe $100 million on the coliseum.
  16. Yeah, to the playoffs! Jump on board!
  17. That sounds like a fairly certain "we are going to hold him out this week"
  18. Carson Palmer, Ryan Tannehill, Brock Osweiler, Charlie Whitehurst, and Andy Dalton were opposing QB's during the Patriots win streak (excluding the Bills), Do we knock off points for them too?
  19. God damn Phins fans giving our running game love even without Shady. We are supposed to be enemies, and you guys are supposed to act douchy. http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?89989-Shady-McCoy-has-tight-hamstring
  20. The Fish have made the playoffs exactly 2 times in the last 16 years, and once in the last 10. Yes better than us, but still not worthy of too much love. After looking at their history, I kind of want to watch this 62-7 stomping of them by the jaguars in 2000 playoffs (1999 season)
  21. That's got to be a bit humiliating when facing your former team. So does he step up? Or does he sink further into obscurity?
  22. Same here. Unfortunately I have Forte in 2 leagues and that is bittersweet.
  23. Yep, I still don't know if I think the NFL could really do much about this, but I have no doubt it will blow up. "A significant one allegedly occurred under the NFL's watch at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii last January, according to the police report. Molly told police that while she and Josh were in the process of getting a divorce, Josh offered to take her and her children to Hawaii and pay their expenses. She agreed, but then called that "a big mistake." Molly alleged that she was subject to "cutting comments" from Josh on that trip, and that he took her phone and searched through her texts, according to the police report. She also alleged that one night he got drunk and pounded on her door so loudly that NFL security and hotel security were called and had to escort Josh away. She also alleged that the NFL eventually put her and her kids up in a different hotel "where Josh would not know where they were," the police report said."
  24. I don't know about the Pro Bowl situation but the linked article says this: Molly was told by police she was under no obligation to talk to NFL investigators after being contacted by a representative of the league. The league rep contacted the Kings County Sherriff's office several times over several months but was told by Robin Ostrum that she "would not discuss my open and active investigation." Molly told Ostrum that she didn't want to speak to the NFL because she feared the league "would only be looking to bury this whole incident and protect Josh."
