Interesting note about the final play
Tu-Toned replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, I didn't even think about that, that whole last drive was pretty efficient clock management. -
Agreed, when a guy goes horizontal like he did with his head pointing toward the goal line with two defenders draped all over him, where he lands should be the spot of the ball, for christ sakes, he didn't bounce or roll two yards after the catch.
-
I guess the only thing bugging me about him right now is his statuesque like presence in the face of heat and his inability to escape even the most subtle pressure. But as long as he keeps performing in the clutch like that, I am loving me some Uncle Rico right now!
-
So it is ok to be off by two, or even one whole yard? Gotcha, just don't try to make the claim that every single play in the last two minutes is reviewed then.
-
No disrespect here, but a say BS, if all plays with two minutes are supposed to be reviewed, then you take the time necessary to review the play, I could see within one second where it should have been spotted. The refs I am sure are in constant communications, especially at that juncture in the game, and it should have gone something like, booth, "hey dummy, you spotted the ball at the wrong location, now move it forward to where it should be", I don't care if it was after the spike or not, you have to get that right there.
-
I didn't really notice until after we spiked the ball, and then I was thinking oh, ok, we spiked the ball, but that is an incomplete pass and you should not lose yardage for that, I guess that they were asleep in the booth or something.
-
Not sure if this has been discussed, and I guess it might just be a minor thing now, BUT, unless my eyes were deceiving me, Hogan landed at like the half yard line after that catch. How does the ball get placed at the 2 and a half yard line? I would have challenged that ball placement, but I guess in the final two minutes you can't. Are not all plays in the final two minutes reviewed and how could they miss that?
-
Agreed, and if you go back and look at the winning TD, Hogan made a great move outside/in, and was wide open right in front of Kyle in the end zone. That being said, I am glad he went to Sammy!

I did call him Chik Fil A on another thread, becuse he didn't seem to be open on Sundays! I apologize!

If you happened to catch the end of the Raider/NE game earlier this season, then you would have no doubts that Kraft has the officials in his back pocket. Offensive holding called on the Raiders late as they tied the game. Replay, and commentary, later that evening confirmed as much to me! The guard basically pancaked the safety, no holding at all, next play, Raider fumble and they game was over. They didn't even have the gonads to show the replay right after the play, and none of the announcers even offered an opinion on it, very very suspect!

What, no hoodie today Bill? I didn't realize that you were this ugly!

Interesting whispers around the league
Tu-Toned replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, but I would have to believe that as smart as Frank is, and having the experience, at least from the sidelines, he would make at least a way better coordinator than what we currently have with CAN'T Hackett! Prob. a better HC coach than Marrone too! -
Sorry man, but I can really only see us and the Browns as the only two teams that have absolutely been owned by another team in their division. So it really isn't as you suggest, "every coach...team's playing poorly every single year against the same team", it is us and Cleveland, and even they managed to turn that around yesterday. Pete Carroll happens to have a Super Bowl notched on his belt already, so their fans are not likely to be calling for his head anytime soon! How does a team like Miami happen to beat the Pats as often as they do? We need a coach that has us prepared to play in these super big early season games, and to date, I have not seen much evidence that Marrone does!
-
Make no mistake about this, Frank may have been a clipboard holder much of his playing career, but he knows the NFL very well. I know that at least our team would be ready to play, because Frank always was! The dude is very smart, and if not already, is a very hot coaching coaching commodity, and we should probably snatch him before the rest of the Leauge figures it out. Not sure how receptive he would be to coming back to Buffalo, but seeing as how he played here, it might be easier to convince him, at least as a replacement for can't Hackett next year. I realize that they are trying to run him out of Frisco, but Hatbaugh was a clipboard holder for many of his playing days too! There is something to be said about watching that much football from the sidelines, could possibly be the best preparation for NFL coaching.

What is your Buffalo Bills sickness??
Tu-Toned replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get that just before halftime tightness in the upper left chest area, and it scares the crap out of me to the point where I think that I will have a full blown heart attack. I think it might be lumpinthethroatectomy! I am in pretty good shape cardio wise, and I never get that feeling any other time other than when watching my Bills. I keep an aspirin close by just in case. Oh this team and the toll that it is most likely taking on my long term health, but if you are going to stress, I can't think of anything better to stress about. I think I have a bad case of gout, er I mean doubt! Go Bills! -
Well we play them again in eight games, might he be out that long? Ryan Matthews could be out too for SD this coming week.
