So people in other countries shouldn't be allowed to offer opinions about American politics, or Americans shouldn't be allowed to read those opinions? I'm just curious about which affront to freedom you're endorsing.

What people need to realize is that nations will organize their geo-political strategies to benefit their own self interests. All nations attempt to steer world events to their own benefit, including America. Russia is a state actor who benefits when American citizens lose faith in it's electoral process and the legitimacy of their government.

You could, if you chose, try taking a more metered tack which worked to honestly call balls and strikes from a non-partisan perspective, regardless of your own preferred policy preferences, and make intellectually honest arguments, which while they might be disagreed with by other posters, would at least earn you their respect as a positive contributor to the discussion. That would be better. We don't have enough of that here.

The entire purpose of your topic was to grind a non-policy related political axe with the sole intention of coloring the current president in a negative light for items not related to governing or policy; and now you're doubling down on the detrimental full-on partisan bull ****. I am, quite vocally, not a Trump guy, and you'd know that if you used the search function or bothered to read or understand any of the posters you're interacting with before popping off at the mouth. Further, I didn't bring this up, you did. You started a thread about an inconvenienced cyclist flipping off the President, as if that's somehow news worthy or requiring it's own thread, and then made it about how terrible it is that the President inconveniences people by deciding he wants to play golf. My post was nothing more than a reminder that this is how the Presidency works, because as someone who isn't fan of either our current POTUS or our prior one, I find the hypocrisy of posts like yours absolutely maddening. As to my thoughts on Presidents golfing? I couldn't care less. The President is always working no matter where he stands, so if a person with as stressful a job as he has wants to blow off some steam by getting out on the course and getting the blood flowing, more power to him. There are plenty of legitimate gripes one could have with either man, and this isn't one of them. It's a purely political argument, with zero bearing on leadership or policy, is absolutely useless as a criticism, and is only forwarded as an argument by those with a political axe to grind whose goal is to foment negative sentiments about the President in order to color public opinion without having to make a policy argument. It's childish, and one of the worst parts of our democracy.

His post was in response to the argument that the behavior of leftists, specifically to their unfounded charges of racism against those who they disagree with politically and the drive to undo the republican democratic process by impeachment on purely political grounds, is doubling down on the exact sort of misbehavior which led directly to the election of President Trump, and will lead to more President Trump. His counterpoint was nearly exactly the same as the one that was used to say that President Trump could never be elected in the first place. He's wrong, and he (the larger he) needs to stop being wrong, because he's being wrong to the detriment of political discourse in this country which has deteriorated to the point that we elected an !@#$ for the sole reason that the !@#$ stood up to leftist bullying. And given that he thinks things will be different next time if only he throws his tantrum more loudly seems to indicate that he doesn't understand our electoral process.

If you think the culture war which led to the election of President Trump, and is currently leading to the very loud rejection of leftism around the country at every single level of government is bad now; wait until you see what happens when you attempt to undo the republican democratic process by attempting to impeach the will of people for purely political reasons. You're perfectly entitled to your terrible opinions. I'll simply tell you that your entire thought process is why you're going to have 8 years of President Trump, and continued stacks of 4 year blocks of various stripes of Republican successors, until you (the larger you) stop behaving like this.

This is not a compelling argument, and quite frankly is completely tone deaf. The notion that because someone supports the President that it is reasonable to assume a default position of racism, and to then seek to burden this person with accusations of racism over benign language with a two century history of having zero racial undertones is ugly, intellectually lazy, immoral, and detrimental to the fabric of the country. It is also further evidence of a political left bent on fascism and the destruction of the democratic process.

This feels like a different kind of team. They have me believing they can win.
