  1. Russia wants things that benefit Russia. The thing that benefits Russia the most is Americans losing confidence in their government, and questioning the legitimacy of their elections. This leads to a power vacuum which Russia is eager to fill. (Which is a major reason, by the way, for the "behind the curtain" rollout of charges that will be coming against a prior Administration, in order that citizens retain faith in their government as legitimate.) Russia would much prefer a world in which they enjoyed global leadership to the benefit of their interests, ideals, and prosperity; as opposed to a world in which America leads.
  2. I have a lot of respect for this. It's OK to be wrong, as long as you can admit it and move forward in an effort to be correct once you've realized it. In fact, personally I'm more inclined to listen to the arguments of people who I know have admitted to being wrong in the past, because I know those people generally are coming from a place of intellectual honesty and are open to new or better information.
  3. It's not political spin. It's war propaganda.
  4. I think that if Greg proves to be right about the attempt to fix the Presidential election, and the attempted coup following their failure, then the "Nazi" rhetoric was not spontaneous, but was rather premeditated in order to justify the actions of those doing the fixing and orchestrating the coup in the event they were caught. They (if Greg is right) sought to protect themselves from justice by insulating themselves with a deadly fog of public outrage by leaving themselves political prisoners of Nazis. Look where all the funding for the agitators comes from.
  5. Well, that's apparently because you think there is something wrong with having history tied to Europe, and talking about that history; especially if that thing holding that history is a positive, even more especially if the person is a public figure appointed by Trump who supports the president. And I know this to be true because you think what he did was wrong.
  6. Well, considering that Sessions didn't describe anything as "white", you're wrong. And, again, it's OK for things to have their history tied to Europe, and it's OK to talk about that history. It's even OK to acknowledge positive things about that history. Even if you're a public figure. Even if you're a Republican. Even if you're a Trump appointee. Even if you're a Trump supporter. The !@#$s are the ones attributing even a drop of malice to Sessions over this, not Jeff Sessions.
  7. History isn't inclusive, it's history. It's OK to have history, and it's OK to acknowledge that history. We can't make history inclusive unless we re-write it, and we shouldn't sanitize it, even if it's the history of terrible European, white, male, cis gendered people who otherwise need to be wiped from the face of the Earth. Again, the only thing that's problematic here are the people that find this problematic.
  8. Ignorant people who get offended at things they have no business getting offended over, and then heap charges of racism, and demand modification of the world to meet their absurd and evolving standard are the problem here. It's OK to acknowledge history. Even a net positive. Even if the history is related to people or traditions with European ancestry. The fact that there's a segment of the population that finds this problematic is awful. The fact that people indulge them is worse.
  9. Well, let's start with the claim, and verify it's veracity: Is the office of Sheriff a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement?
  10. I think that's a fair and valid point of view.
  11. My accountant gets on my Christmas card list when he manages my annual tax bill to within $250 of breaking even in either direction.
  12. Can you please clarify if you want this dog will be for eating or for sex? It will change the answer.
  13. The purpose of doing what he did is to weaponize his race against others to his advantage. It's not about equality, it's about a desire for inequality stacked in his favor.
  14. There are no birds left in red states. The starving Republican peasantry has eaten them all.
  15. Of course it was going to be covered this way. It's war propaganda, and we're engaged in a civil war.
  16. I didn't miss the point, I made a joke. When you see concerted efforts to normalize pedophilia by the same folks who admittedly use their medium to normalize other sexual behaviors and thing considered deviant by the mainstream, you understand where their power and access come from, and you suspect something much larger is in play; all you can do is joke to keep yourself sane.
  17. Right, right. They're all celibate angles, like Catholic priests. Oh, wait...
  18. I don't say this lightly: watching that man get the noose will be spiritually rewarding.
  19. That is nearly completely wrong on every imaginable front.
  20. I'll say it again: Donald Trump is probably the single most politically adept person I've ever seen in my life. He has the left absolutely dancing to his tune, driving the politically agnostic and the centerists away from them. He has, all at once, thrown red meat to his base keeping them excited, while at the same time has manipulated his political enemies, whom he knows he has no hope if winning over so he offers them nothing, into taking a stance against our military. Just how do you think that's going to play in the Rust Belt? It's brilliant.
  21. Which is why the media was enlisted to run the Russian narrative during the election run up, and to execute the following coup. There is a tremendous book written by Daniel Bootstin called The Image about this very topic which should be required reading.
