Correct. President Trump is, if nothing else, a deal maker. In order to make the deal he wanted, he avoided politicizing the deal making process. He made the deal, and kept it out of the news. This is what led to the unprecedented events at the Olympics. The good will had already been achieved through negotiation which made everything that happened possible. To believe anything else is to believe that a unified Korean celebration by two nations who have been at war with each other for 70 years just fell out of the !@#$ing sky. That doesn't happen. The hard work to achieve a peace had already been done. What you're seeing now is the ceremony.

The President did not fire the SoS via tweet. Full stop. As for reporting on the President, we are living in The Matrix, as recounted in The Image by Daniel Boorstin. Our media apparatus has been co-opted by bad actors within our intelligence community for the decades long purpose of controlling the population to their ends, and the ends of those they serve by employing various forms of leverage on those disseminating their message. The veil is coming down.

Everyone holding high political office is, at their core, an egomaniac. The audacity it takes to look yourself in the mirror and say "You know what? I should be in charge of everyone!" is staggering.

The same reason I did for you when you were new here. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt.

The people who get run out of here are those who post poorly, those who make bad arguments (read not internally logically consistent), and those who are unable to offer supporting evidence of their claims. The ones who get run out the fastest tend to be conservatives. Thoughtful posters are always treated as thoughtful posters and are always welcome here, especially if they have a left leaning perspective. This place needs more voices like Doc Brown, Deranged Rhino, TPS, and GoBills. It's healthier for the conversation on balance. I hope you do decide to stay, and I hope you decide to be a quality poster regardless of your perspective. You haven't done that to date though, rather being part of the problem, and seemingly taking pride in being a jerk. I understand that the internet can bring that out of people, and that it's not a one sided issue; but my sincere hope is that you'll decide to reverse course, and actually contribute.

Will you act on it, or are you content to be a ****ty person who takes enjoyment from treating other people poorly? I ask because I'd rather have you be a positive influence here, continue to read your posts, engage you about your thoughts and beliefs, and have a healthy dialogue. That's when the board is at it's best. If not, that's obviously your choice to make, but I'd rather save myself time and simply put you on ignore now if that's going to be the case.

It wasn't advice. It was a request made by one person to another person to stop treating other people poorly because it amuses you to treat other people poorly.

Political disagreement does not invalidate evidence. You may disagree with what Greg has been sharing, but he has sourced volumes of evidence. He's also been researching this topic, working to become a subject matter expert, taking interviews with primary sources in our intel community for around two years. So while you may not agree with his conclusions, he is not bringing down the quality of the board, as bringing down the board's quality is not synonymous with posting conclusions one disagrees with. What you are doing only brings down the quality of the board, so given that you're newer here, and I think it's desirable for the board to seek out new posters of all ideological persuasions who are interested in contributing positively to the discourse, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and asking you to please stop doing what you're doing. It serves no purpose other than ruining other people's experience, and is a really ****ty thing to intentionally do to other people.

Quite seriously, can I ask you why you've set out to drag down the level of discourse here and make this a worse place? That does appear to be your only true objective, so I'm curious about the "why". Why would you set out to make something worse than it was? There's no net positive. You aren't furthering conversation. You aren't offering reasoned counter positions. You're just flinging garbage for the sole purpose of flinging garbage. Why?

You're under the impression that "US intelligence agencies", which as a stand-alone concept is nebulous enough on it's own merits to lead me to question question your understanding of their individual charters and purposes, have direct oversight of of the President and Executive prerogative on foreign policy? But, even setting that aside, you think it is the duty of our government to appoint Special Councils to investigate politically motivated conspiracy theories against a duly elected President, and the duty of those Special Councils to persist in those investigation even after lengthy and thorough completion has turned up absolutely no evidence of the charges made in the politically motivated conspiracy theories in order to satisfy the political agenda of those forwarding those same theories without evidence??? Do you see where this leads?

In the assembly of his cabinet President Trump looks to value macro level problem solvers whom he uses to strategically target certain things he views as problematic within the bureaucracy, and are in need of reform. When the President took office strengthening US energy policy to the domestic economic benefit, and attempting to re-normalize US relations with Russia were the top priority. At that time Tillerson was the ideal choice. Things have changed, and the largest problem facing the nation at the moment is the stripping down and disinfecting of our intelligence apparatus. For that Pompeo is the ideal choice.
