You're wrong because hating people is nothing even the smallest bit similar to disagreeing with policy objectives or opinions. You should stop and consider what conflating those two things says about the level of discourse.

Over time, traffic wears down the roads and supporting infrastructure (along with weather and other factors not necessarily related to motorists). You and the Cadillac driver in question do roughly the same amount of damage, assuming the same amount of use. The issue is that under the current funding mechanism, you are largely getting a free ride on the infrastructure maintenance to the detriment of those individuals who aren't driving electric/hybrids. And while you may be paying more for your car in some instances (you wouldn't be paying more than I am looking to for the 1964 Lincoln Continental I'm on the market for, for instance) that cost is rather irrelevant to the cost of upkeep for the roads, because those dollars go to shareholders of Tesla (used for purposes of discussion), and not to the public coffers. And while I think it's great that you're helping the environment (to some degree, possibly) that doesn't mean that everyone else should have to pay for the maintenance costs of the roadways while you get a break; and while I agree with you about big brother tracking your mileage, we need to find another way to fund our highway departments, especially as fuel efficiency and alternative fuel sources grow in popularity and carve away the existing tax base.

That's a multi-tiered question. I'll try to answer as fully as possible as the conversation flows: On an individual level: That it's destructive to individuals: It's destructive to individuals because it stunts their intellectual growth, harms their ability to reason and contemplate difficult or uncomfortable ideas, and infantilizes their expectations of the world. On a societal level: That it's a detriment to society at large: It's detrimental because the world is comprised of a never ending series difficult problems and situations steeped with competing and overlapping interests which require the ability to think in order to solve, and we are developing a generation of leaders ill equipped to deal with this.

Well, of course. Liberals want punitive taxes on everyone else, and on behavior and things they dislike. Juror, a couple of quick questions before I engage: Do you think it may be fair to ask if impressions inside the Beltway, and likewise impressions of the left leaning coastals, of what motivates voters in flyover country are accurate, or if they operate within the prism of their own biases? And if that is fair, and I personally think it is though I won't presume to answer for you, wouldn't that largely invalidate those impressions?

No, what this is about is the left wanting a double standard. They want, very much, is to be able to exhibit poor behavior, up to and including the violation of the basic fundamental right to free speech, with absolute impunity. And they don't want to suffer any criticism for it.

I speculate that the "leaks" since the house cleaning early in the administration to ferret them out, have not come from the administration; but rather are completely manufactured propaganda drops from elements within the USIC hostile to the current administration as part of their ongoing coup attempt, and have no basis in fact.

The OP did not attack you. He did not even posit that the ideas he was forwarding were factual or accurate, even though it would still be OK if he had, because, again, he didn't attack you. He advanced some ideas that were political, rather than ideological, and asked you to vet them. And you all shat yourselves and began engaging in scorched Earth posting policy. Had he attacked you, which he didn't, it would be different. He was trying to have a discussion about ideas, and you all decided it would be better to have a **** slinging contest.
