What's wrong with the GOP?
Duck_dodgers007 replied to The Big Cat's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Which statement should I defend? Prove your point about taxes and the wealthy and hurting middle class Sure, wealth and income not the same thing, but so what? What's your point? But still lost jobs, jobs that paid salaries that supported small business and big, not to mention middle class families -
The 24hr news cycle has made this all rather redundant, aside from the fact the guys that were attacking Romney as the devil a few months ago now love him, ok

That tax money taken from the wealthy doesn't create jobs, you disagree? Why? Actually the most of the jobs lost since Bush have been government jobs -
Huckabees giving a pretty tired speech zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh come on, if Robs program of massive tax reductions for the wealthy was made into law, a lot of middle class people would be thrown into poverty. High taxes on the wealthy have reduced poverty. That's a success. as is health care for the poor and elderly, social security, veterans programs and veterans health care, not to mention all the jobs created by other government spending. Woo hoo, big government is a positive good -

There have always been poor, the government didn't create them. The government has made poverty less cruel and mean, but it hasn't eliminated, to be sure. -

No offense, but this is pretty simplistic. Taxes are hardly the only thing that drives the economy. It also sounds like you want to turn us into a cheap labor country? Think about how much money our government now takes from the wealthy and spends on the middle class enitlement programs. Are you saying that this can stop and the people will be better off than they are now? Just to be clear, you think the wealthy, who pay most of the taxes, are way over taxed, and they will keep lots more of their money, right? And what about small businesses? If the middle class no longer has the same wealth they do now in a very low tax regime, where will the customers come from? Energy production has soared under Obama, we can't use all the natural gas we are drilling until we convert more factories, power plants and hopefully trucks over to it. -

And this will all lead to a better society simply because government will be doing less, or was there some sort of massive economic benefit from doing this? -

I just have to ask, what would be your economic solution? And what problem do you want solved and how would you solve it? -

They are against "The Government." As if getting rid of a giant part of The Government" will somehow make them happier and free. Such ignorance! -
Keynote Address Flopped

Ya, he looked like a big sissy that was outraged someone had left the toilet seat up And now Ann Romney is tarnishing her new won fame by saying things better left said at the country club http://news.yahoo.com/ann-romney-woos-hispanic-voters-luncheon-181637003--abc-news-politics.html -
How far would Obama go ??
Duck_dodgers007 replied to drinkTHEkoolaid's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Like what? He'd have to be behind in the polls, which could happen, but the surprise would have to rally support to him, what could do that? -
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0812/80362.html?hp=t1_3 I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought he was nausiating! The whole convention is just a joke, where are the party leaders that usually are in these things? The Democrats won't be hiding the Clintons. Does anyone think Romney is going to say anything that anyone wants to hear? My guess, Democrats gain a small but significant bump out of the conventions and hold it to election time

Romney was on Fox news claiming--in an interview with Chris Wallace--that his stuffing money in the Caymen's was not at all about tax avoidance. He said it over and over, and made it sound like he just invested there, and then went on to say he invested in other foreign countries, and buys foreign goods.... Hmmmmm.... Really? http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/la-pn-romney-says-he-gained-no-tax-reduction-through-overseas-funds-20120826,0,7434747.story

Seriously, that's the only reason going into debt is necessary? Would you like to see the budget balanced during a recession? Reaching out from the gutter to criticze the Great Paul Krugman? What do you not like about him?

Back of the bus Waldo! http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0812/80168.html "The Republican National Convention seating chart, obtained by POLITICO Sunday, shows the delegations from Nevada, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota and Oklahoma all located on the outer fringe of the convention floor. Each are states with significant Paul followings. The delegation for the Northern Mariana Islands, on the other hand, is right in front behind the gang from Michigan, birth state of Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Other groups with pretty good seats include those from the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and American Samoa. None has electoral votes that can impact the outcome of the election." The Northern Mariana Islands???

Bill Nye has had enough of Conservative ignorance! http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/bill-nye-science-guy-hits-evolution-deniers-123047918--abc-news-tech.html Too bad we don't have economists as well respected that could pour cold water on the idiotic ideas of balanced budget amendments and a return to the gold standard

Stop while you are behind, you only look more foolish with each post....if that's even possible

He may try to set it up so that We and China help with some of the new bonds that are issued so that the borrowing costs for some states like Spain, Greece and Italy fall which will help us all, but that can't happen till after the election. The Conservatives could never understand a move like that and would throw the well being of the world economy to the wind to attack it as socialism or selling out the future or inflation or anything, so its best to not give the wildly ignorant a chance attack.
