  1. Yes, Marrone had nothing to do with the masterful defense. I mean, our defense was setting records before he got here.
  2. That's standard? I don't think so.
  3. The media asked him if he was worried about his job security after the GB game. You know, the game everyone said we had no chance of winning.
  4. This illogical emotional response is hilarious. Marrone went for 4th and 1's in the middle of the field, by the way.
  5. @ Tintonfallsb... : (08 January 2015 - 09:36 AM) The only argument mustard against Rex was we don;t want Jets 2.0
  6. Gameday decisions is only scratching the surface of what needs to be done as a coach. The offensive coordinator doesn't just doodle "cool" plays.
  7. Reid loved Vick. TP could be the starter next season.
  8. Kelly clearly has never developed a QB, so that's an interesting assertion.
  9. Winning so much with his developing QB's that he's on his couch, just like Marrone.
  10. Chip Kelly would have had EJ amassing numbers unheard of, but EJ got saddled w/Matexty instead. There's no way anyone would think IF the likes of Chip Kelly was developing EJ rather than Marrone & his inept OC that EJ wouldn't have blossomed into the winner he is capable of being in the NFL. No one calling Kelly the Messiah indeed. Numbers unheard of, just like Sancho.
  11. Chip Kelly turned Sanchez into a winner. And he developed 2014 Foles.
  12. Sure, but if they "loved" him it wouldn't be hard to trade into the middle of the first.
  13. Both those moves got them to the playoffs. Signing a back-up and picking up a flier QB with a sixth round = love.
  14. Harbaugh/Chip love Manuel so much, they didn't bother drafting him.
  15. A leader of men. A disciplinarian. The Khmer Rouge always showed up and played hard.
  16. True. One guy is a little far fetched. What if he's got a handful of guys he wants to work with, that doesn't include EJ. How do you weigh the value of the HC with the desire to work with EJ? I don't want some bum as HC because he thinks EJ is just swell. And I think we already had a coach who thinks EJ sucks.
  17. Right. What if Shanny is not high on EJ at all and wants an FA brought in? Do you pass on Shanahan because EJ's "got something?"
  18. Because the draft is the Bills' Super Bowl.
  19. This is all well and good, but what if an offensive minded guy has a possibly available QB in mind? What if Shanny comes in the interview and says, "I'll try to bring along EJ but I've worked with Cutler before and had some success. I want to get him." What do you do? What does Whaley do?
  20. Exactly my point. Whether you think Marrone was trying to pad his resume, or just do his job, not playing Urbik over Richardson was a bad move. Unless coaches pad their resumes by losing? "How long has Marrone planned on leaving." We've digressed from that a little bit.
  21. You're confusing a commitment to winning with competency. No doubt Marrone thought his roster moves helped him win. I even agree with a few of them, but not all of them. The rest is personal stuff that has no bearing on this discussion. Whether Marrone is a jerk or a saint is irrelevant. Preseason blowup was to sign Orton IIRC. He wasn't on the roster yet.
  22. Yep. This wasn't a 3 year plan where a modicum of improvement would've been okay as long as EJ looked a little better along the way.
  23. Disagree. Winning that last game at all costs does more for this franchise than letting EJ get 20 or so snaps. Many of the vets on the Bills needed a winning season. Badly. Kyle Williams has been here since 2005; you're gonna deny him the chance to get his first winning season EVER? The New England win was good for this franchise. It's good for the team's confidence, 9-7 shows these guys that they can play, etc. Questioning his motives to play the best players on the team is a dumb thing to do. He did his job, which is win as many games as possible. Looking at it through a prism means nothing. If I work really hard to get a promotion, but I eventually leave this job to find a better one in my career path, does everyone say, "woah, maybe he only worked really hard to pad his resume?" No. They don't. I was doing my job and I did it well enough to get some praise. Period.
