Chris Johnson: many '14 Jets decisions out of Rex's hands

Not how many snaps an RB playing poorly gets? Rex definitely doesn't sound like a guy who says, "get me this hamburger, and I'll turn him into a ribeye." Overinflated opinion? Nothing close to down to earth Rex. -

Only if Jeff Tuel gets the same redemption. -
Bad argument. Why do you think EJ was told to be conservative? Because he was bad and got hurt. After his third injury, many wanted him to stop running. EJ had a horrible completion percentage to his WR's. Whether he checked down 50 or 200 times, his completion percentage to his WR's sucked. He couldn't or wouldn't complete passes to them for that Houston game.

EJ's situation was not to "win now" until his second season. And it's partially EJ's fault he didn't play much in his first. And it's also the circumstance of the game that if you get hurt, it's tough toenails for you. Just ask Locker. Carr's team also sucks. And if Carr in his second season shows up afraid to throw a pass to anyone but his RB, his head will be called for. That's the long and short of it.

Is anyone trying to make a point about Tebow? I'm lost. -
They have a great trailer editor. The trailer for the next episode always looks incredible, and the episode usually doesn't get there. Personally, I feel like they're trying to be so much more than the show is, and it's a bad thing. It's a show about zombies. The main vieweship is not concerned with artistic shots of the sun, or symbolic "It stormed and saved us!" when that's the entirety of the episode. Throw it in there, fine, but keep the story moving. One of the best parts of BB was that it had at least 3 separate storylines occurring at the same time. A third of the show would be Walter and Jesse, a third would be Walter and his family/Skyler, a third Jesse or Saul. Instead of writing 5 seasons of just Walt on the screen, they split it up. It makes for a fresher show, because they don't have to drag their heels when they run out of material. It feels like TWD struggles to write 16 episode seasons, but that's what they're getting paid for. So they make 3-4 filler episodes with one plot point by throwing in some "artistic" heavy-handed symbolism or "deep" existential dialogue (that sounds like crap). But the action episodes are pretty great. TWD should start trying to follow the BB formula. Instead of just Rick's group with Tyrese dying in the opener, they should've cut back to Daryl crying, other girl losing her mind, eating worms, looking for water. Two stories in one so it feels like things are happening, even if it is just development.

Report: Broncos could part ways with Manning

He sure did. But that defense wasn't all that. Which was the main point, because when Peyton got there, all they did was build on D. I think you're close to the money there, I can't look at their schedule now. I know the Bills dropped 40 on them. However, it's not fair to say, "the defense was pretty good, not counting those games they let up 40." You know? I can get behind that they played pretty good in their wins, and bad in their losses, but they weren't good on the whole. -

20th in YPG. 16th in YPP. 24th in PPG. Mediocre to bad. It's a common misconception that Denver's D "held on" for 57 minutes, then Tebow put together the game winning drive. That happened a few times, but it's not the whole story. -

The Broncos defense was bad in 2011. -
The info is wishy washy. Not really definitive. "Revis is possible and maybe what we'll do but maybe not." I can "expect" to bring home a model, but it doesn't normally happen. We had similar comments for Jerry and Byrd by the way. None of this is groundbreaking stuff. Just "all the right," things.

How we should find a franchise QB

If we wait 2 more years for EJ, I may actually stop watching. -
Less talent.
-
Racist.

Adding a Gresham type is not worth it. They'll be available because they are JAG.
-
What's the best ability again? Availability. I don't think Gresham - cap space is > than Chandler + cap space. Unless we're getting Gronk or Graham, there is no right price.
-
You wound me. So you think they are all better talents or athletes? Why do they not perform better? I agree that Chandler isn't a top 10 at any one skill. He's a jack of all trades sort of player. The stats bear out that he's right around 15-19 and that's where I'd put him. The "argument" about #1 vs. #2 is a crap argument. I'd wager just about all of the folks calling Chandler a "good" #2 have watched little of Celek, Gresham etc. The whole "we need a TE who can always get open and creates mismatches" argument is not a definiton of a Brandon Pettigrew-type player. It just isn't. There's 4 maybe 5 "#1" tight ends. Everyone else is playing at a completely different level, with half of the numbers and talent. You're better off splitting them into "max TE" and "not max TE" categories, you'll get a clearer argument.

Based on what metrics? Scotty was 18th in yards (ahead of many on that list, including orange Julius). 7th (!!!!!!!) in plays 20+ yards, more than Graham, Cameron etc. and tied with Olsen, Ertz etc. TD's he's at 22, again, tied with Clay, Ertz, Miller, Wilson, beating folks like Amaro, Cameron, Rudolph, Celek, Bostick. Put me in the camp that thinks that most people watch Graham and Gronk highlights and think that the Bills are the only team without that kind of player. Scotty is right at #15ish. Sammy Watkins couldn't get 1000 yards with this offense, don't blame Scott because he doesn't put up Gronk numbers.

What team is he on?

That's also because of his contract.

There is no EJ detractors thread. Why are you trying to involve EJ? Furthermore, you post your "EJ detractors, please post in your EJ sucks thread," in every topic about other QB's. Which is a little foolish, because any topic about bringing in a player will invariably discuss who we have at that same position, right? I mean, if we posted a topic on a free agent DE candidate, wouldn't he be compared to Hughes? You don't even have to respond to it, you can just say things like, "I don't see Glennon being better than EJ," and leave it at that. Ah, okay. Yeah, I'd agree that Orton definitely had too many "big" bad plays or at least, not enough good ones. I just think that third down slide was a little overstated, IMO. It seemed like the turning point for a lot of folks, and I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
