  1. Fred couldn't have been cut two days ago, otherwise, he's cut. That's not something that can be correct when it's said, but not turn out to be true later. That's the analogous situation. Sometimes they do. Fred was bandied about as a possible cap casualty before he was "on the outs" according to inside sources.
  2. It depends on if he's a Bill and if you bought his jersey.
  3. I think you're giving it to them both ways. Even if their info doesn't turn out, they're still "right," and when their info does turn out, they're prophets because they "called it." I don't agree with that. It's no different from the rumors we hear. There's a huge difference between, "The Bill are rumored to grab Crabtree" and "My sources tell me we signed Crabtree last night," especially if we don't sign Crabtree. One of them is correct or at the very least, not incorrect. Besides, what use is the info if it was wrong? Either the source was wrong or the mouthpiece for the source was wrong.
  4. Why don't they just not say something concrete?
  5. So read minds or distort what they write?
  6. As far as I'm concerned, unless it's from Whaley's mouth or a done deal, it's not strong. Look at the fiasco yesterday. The poster said that Fred was informed two nights ago he'd been cut. Then, he wasn't. If he had said, "my source says the plan is inform Fred tonight and give the news tomorrow," what would have been the difference, besides being less incorrect? We aren't placing bets here, we're just getting a feel on the pulse of the organization. The "strength" of the info doesn't really matter to me, as long as it IS info.
  7. Why not just say, "I heard a trade is on the table for EJ and it is not done yet?" That way, you don't have to be proven wrong. The "inside sources" are posted as facts and assurances.
  8. Fastforward 4 years from now for the 30 for 30. The Playbook, My Anti-Drug: The Johnny Manziel Story
  9. Motion to possiblly call a vote to motion to table this discussion until March 2016? All in favor?
  10. He was a worse RB than Fred in every way in 2014.
  11. As long as you don't listen to the fans, Aaron Maybin will be on your roster.
  12. So who did you want who could replace Fred as the "best?" And Powell was the planned replacement, so uh, no.
  13. Unlike Powell, who has won so many games.
  14. I wouldn't call that jumping to a wild conclusion. But it was a possibility, and how it struck me.
  15. It may be, subconsciously. Can you ever really be 100% objective?
  16. 1 when he was a GM. And it was while he spent 18 months trying to trade for Brown. I don't think it's a stretch to think that Whaley may think Bryce is actually better than Fred.
  17. In 2013, we might have been. In 2013, we wouldn't have had to worry about EJ's development and confidence being stunted by playing when he wasn't close to ready. I said that may be leading his decision. It kinda sounds like it. I don't think you can trade a pick for a guy and not think he's any good. Clearly, Whaley's got an opinion on Brown. And that may be a bias towards him or against Fred, either way.
  18. Except Freddy looked better than him in that offense. Cutting Fred now because of the player Bryce Brown may be 3 years from now is foolhardy.
  19. Yes. Even I expected BB to take the spot over when both RB's when down last year. Whaley likes Brown's potential. So do I. The argument of basement vs. upside applies here. EJ was younger and cheaper and had a chance to be a good starter. So we cut Fitz. And we paid for it.
  20. Exactly! Cutting somebody now made no sense.
  21. Sounds like Whaley thinks that Brown can be great. Only problem is that he hasn't proved it on the field, and has better players on the team. If that's the dilemma, I don't know how I feel about Whaley. It seems like, "these are my guys," stupidity.
  22. So then what? How many special teamers do we need? Fill two spots with our RB's, then cut Larry Dean? What's the point? Just keep Dean. What if the RB we sign to play ST sucks in camp? And sucks as an RB? Bryce or Fred are already on other rosters if they're cut in two days. None of this makes much sense to me.
  23. Why trade or cut any RB's? We had 4 last year, and when someone got hurt, we had a cheap, decent replacement waiting. Is Lesean McCoy unbreakable? Is Bryce Brown's contract holding us back? What?
