  1. Why are we counting the coaches that happened before Carr was in the building. Here's Carr's "stability." 2014: Drafted and went through TC under Dennis Allen. Allen fired after 4 games. Tony !@#$ing Sporano takes over for the rest of the year. Greg Olson OC, DeFillipo QBC. 2015: New HC, OC, QBC. He had two years of the same HC/OC/QBC. We've seen 100 Bills QB's get the same treatment.
  2. Except learn a college playbook. That Atlanta team was a piece away though. They had their QB. RG3 had one of the best rookie years a QB has ever had. He should've worked out. I'm not focusing on one pick, I'm using it to illustrate a point and a pattern. If you think I think DW sucks because of just one pick or trade, you aren't paying attention.
  3. That's crap. It's been said about Oakland for years too. They destroyed a couple rookies, and almost ended Carson Palmer's career. And still Carr beat that death trap.
  4. It cost 2 4th rounders. Our first in in 2016 and one in 2017. It remains to be seen. That wasn't what he was drafted to play.
  5. Trading away a first 2 years later takes you out of the QB race, IMO. I think EJ absolutely cost us Carr. Not even a question. Ragland cost us Dak. But that's why you can't be afraid of taking multiple QB's IMO. Even if you took one high the year before. Your point was "Whaley brought Kolb in to start." Yikes dude. The irony.
  6. I think that's fair, but the GM who capitulates also shoulders some blame IMO. I realize Dak was no guarantee to even be taken by our 4th. It's just a perfect demonstration of how sticking to your board and letting the draft play out is the move. You can afford to go trade crazy when you feel you're a piece away from SB contention. Not when your entire franchise is in flux. IMO.
  7. I personally don't care too much about the EJ pick. QB's are a crapshoot. I think care more about doubling down on him, not attempting to draft another one for years etc, more so than drafting him.
  8. It means they called him the GM. You can google "de facto" for me.
  9. You're right. We traded up for a need at MLB who fit the system of a coach who is no longer here, and in doing so, cost us 2 more players that could've contributed. Nice job Dougie
  10. Nix was still the GM in name after the draft. I agree that Nix was the GM in name in the 2013 draft. Because that's all the facts support.
  11. Yeah, if the good player we didn't get actually sucked, it wouldn't have mattered. Good point.
  12. Right, they are just simple errors occurring that keep giving Whaley credit for the good moves under Nix who was the nominal GM. Like I said, boy do they make it easy.
  13. Your wish is my command. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/Jerry-Hughes-trade-among-best-in-NFL-in-2013/192f0b71-c9f8-4eeb-958f-d7f0c3c1a9e0 http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2015/03/09/bills-trade-for-hughes-not-lost-on-pass-rusher/ Funny how Nix resigned 2 weeks after that but I just don't see his name anywhere.
  14. The Bills media. You know, the organization. They said it was Doug. No conjecture. It's clear the organization has been talking out of both sides of their mouth in their attempt at PR spin. They praised Whaley for the 2013 draft until that draft proved to suck. Now it was Nix's draft because his name was on the door, but any of the good moves were Whaley's. Like I said, no wonder they find it so easy.
  15. Oh, that's right. Guess who the Buffalo Bills Media gave credit for the trade? I'll give you a hint. It wasn't Nix.
  16. Who was the GM the day we traded for Jerry Hughes?
  17. No, they are swindling because the company line is accepted without thought.
  18. No wonder the Pegulas find it so easy to swindle this fanbase.
  19. That great 4-3 defense was built before Whaley was the GM.
  20. Were you making a point?
  21. Yep. This was my fear of keeping TT. We're screwed.
  22. That 4th meant we missed out on Dak.
  23. Yeah but I think there's certainly a case to be made. Hell, even last year had an FCS QB go #2 overall. I was a Wentz guy but that's crazy. This class is no weaker than 2014 or 2016 in terms of QB. 2014 was a heckuva draft in other positions though. I think we'll see at least 2 QBs go in the first.
  24. I think this draft is better than the 2014 class or at least on par. The 2013 class was an enigma. It's like wont be seen again in years.
  25. No, but one player, namely the QB, has a greater impact on the offense than the other 10. You could maybe make the argument that a pass rusher does the same on defense, but it is to a much lesser degree. I'm sorry if you're frustrated. These are general football principles. Would Carr have sucked if he got drafted in the first instead of the early second?
