  4. Chris Brown's blog- http://buffalobills.com/blog/?blogger_id=1 PRICE'S ABSENCE: I have to say I was amused how Price's absence morphed into him possibly being an unhappy receiver. He just made an honest mistake, reading the training camp schedule for Sunday Aug. 13 when it was Sunday Aug. 20. He spoke to coach Jauron by phone and told him of his oversight. Jauron apparently understood because Price said he has not been fined. Price isn't concerned about not making a catch in the preseason thus far, but he admitted he might think differently if he's heading into the home opener (Sept. 24) and he's still without a reception. “If I’m sitting out here without a catch after Week 2 in the regular season then I might have an issue," said Price. "But this is preseason and I’m trying to make it through healthy and get better each week.” Before anyone says it's Peerless being selfish, I'll just say that Price is a humbled man who is eager to prove he can still play in this league and be productive. He also feels he can help this team a lot in the receiving game. So if the regular season is two games old and he hasn't been able to help the offense the way he believes he can you could see how it might become an issue especially if the team hasn't won the first two games. ---

  9. http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/stories...html?from_rss=1 The Federal Communications has ordered the NFL Network be restored to customers of Time Warner Cable on an interim basis in markets formerly serviced by Adelphia Communications Corp. The National Football League sought governmental intervention after the cable operator pulled the channel one day after taking control of systems formerly franchised by Adelphia, including the Buffalo market. In a ruling issued Thursday, the FCC said it appears that Time Warner discontinued the NFL Network with essentially no warning to customers, thus not giving them sufficient time to obtain alternative service so that they could continue to watch the NFL Network without interruption. FCC rules state that subscribers be given 30 days notice of such cancellation of service. Time Warner only began informing customers it would pull the NFL network just days before its takeover of Adelphia systems. The NFL countered by launching a media campaign in several newspapers warning of the pending change. Time Warner has now added a Web site -- www.nflgetreal.com -- seeking subscriber support. In part, the site says, "In markets that already have the NFL Network, they are asking for a 350 percent increase for adding eight regular season games -- games that were available to our customers last year -- out of 267. This is a poor value proposition - even for fans. The NFL Network is telling fans that they will miss these games but they are wrong -- our customers will not miss ANY of the home team's games." The FCC said the timing of the dispute is unfortunate for football fans. "With NFL training camps now underway and the NFL's pre-season schedule commencing on Aug. 11, 2006, now is a time when many football fans have a particular desire to view the NFL Network's programming, which will include numerous pre-season games and extensive coverage of NFL training camps. Therefore, each day that Time Warner customers go without the NFL Network significantly and irreparably harms many of them, particularly those in Buffalo, Cleveland, and Dallas, each of which is home to an NFL team. By contrast, we do not believe that the interim relief sought by the NFL will cause any significant harm to the public," the FCC said. Time Warner has until Aug. 15 to respond to the NFL complaint. The NFL may then file a reply to Time Warner's response on or before Aug. 20, 2006.

  11. I know it didn't help much in TB last year, but I think we should use the throwback's in week 2 this season. The Florida sun can be brutal in September, if the white helmets can reduce that by 1%, I'd do it.

  16. My post was actually a half-hearted attempt at humor.. In my opinion, the Willis straight arm story goes like this: 2004: Because of weak OL interior play, Willis bounces all runs to the outside, ending up one-on-one with a DB or LB.. the Willis straight arm is born. 2005: MM tells WM all plays are to be run as called.. MM claims WM left yds on the table.. blah blah smash mouth. MM goes so far as to tell the media that WM needs to "hit it up the middle and settle for 3 yds". WM follows orders.. because of bad OL play WM never ends up one-one-one w/ a DB or LB.. the Willis straight arm dies.
