I’m saying this staff has a history of developing people over a few years. You could’ve said the same thing about, Dane, Bates, Boettger, etc. because we don’t know. What I trust though is this staff and what they did show was solid. You know I’m not normally against you, but we as a crew only know what we see, read, and watch. That’s why we’re called fans. You’re absolutely right though Amy of these safeties can fall on their face. You can’t replace Hyde and Poyer and not thing there is some drop off, but you also for Beane have to make wise long term financial decisions. Poyer will be 32 at the end of the year. What would you do, but if you’re giving Poyer $16-18 mil, who are you cutting? I think that’s what some have resolved to in that the cap is real and they can only play so much gymnastics. I’d rather extend a DT who could be excellent as he’s developed every year. He also could be with us for another 6-7 years. As much as I love Poyer, that’s not happening. Just like I seriously doubt that Von Miller is really a 3 year contract, and then we’ll see.

I do think the Chiefs will be better than some are projecting as some of our guys make emotional takes. These two teams though are very evenly matched even without Hill. We’ll find out in the next 6 months. For me, you’re always welcome on this board from my perspective. I do think you’re division is going to beat the crap out of each other this season. It used to be the NFCW was considered the best in class division, but between yours and to some degree the AFCN, will canibalize each other. The good news is you’ll be battle tested come the playoffs as will the Bills.

One last point is just like when you balanced out the contract for Knox with the low cap hit this year just as many of you mentioned in the past the Dawkins, Milano, and Tre contracts, they look more reasonable. If you take his $53.6 mil. + his current salary of $2.745 mil., it actually starts to look a little better over five years of $11.269 mil./yr.. He will be by the end of this contract a Bill for 8 years, and still only 30. I love what Beane has done, trying to key pieces to extend early as the price tag almost always goes up.

I think they will just let it play out on Edmunds, Poyer, and Singletary. I doubt Poyer will accept what we offer as much as I wish he would. Edmunds is a wait and see. Singletary will get a modest offer, but he may shop the market. The next two to get signed will be Oliver and then Davis. If Oliver plays like I expect in next to Von and company, he’s going to command a significant contract. That places Davis into play and we’ll have to see if Beane can squeeze enough for him or he may go. We won’t be able to give him a $20 mil./yr. Contract. I really want Beane to find a way, but they have extended the right guys these last two years to date.

I doubt it. As these contracts lately have gone out of control. Unless he’s willing to take a two year extension at a reasonable rate like $11 mil. Per, and I doubt he will take that deal, they’ll let him test the market next season. With the development of our two backup safeties, the plan is probably a succession plan McBeane have made.

These debates are like a chipping of stones in a pond competition. They are both top end WRs. They are both clear #1 WRs. I like Diggs for a variety of reasons, but mostly I love the contested catch ability. He’s one of the best in the league.

It’s better they air on the side of caution so he’s 100%. Besides, it’s not like they will be good this year. It’s going to take time for those new talents to gel. They have at least another year or two.

I called into MTC yesterday on NFLR, and they spoke to this point on how many are still in the league. A small group of people think they are smarter than real GM’s, but look at track records. BB is a horrible GM, but an excellent coach in the past. Beane and McD are a great combo. They have similar vision, are aligned up and down the line, and they have developed along with the assistants Josh and others. The fact that we have that many players who develop over three years into starters is impressive.

Spot on brother! For anyone griping and I know it’s not a lot, look at our past. Now the following contracts after the ones that came later looked like a steal; JA, Tre, Dawkins, Diggs, and Milano. Every one of them had lesser guys get so much more. I practically guarantee we will look at this contract a year from now and think it was so much better than what the TEs get in the next year.

I think it was a great decision! It’s still fair, he’s happy, not the highest paid TE, and TE extensions are not as expensive as WRs. TEs are harder to find except maybe QBs. We have our key QB, edge rushers, DTs, Secondary, and sideline to sideline LB in Milano. We have our #1 WR, so this is great news. I won’t even respond to we could’ve got this guy or that guy. Our TE had 9 TDs last year. Now kicks the crap out of the sheep tomorrow.

Barley, right on the $. When I have time, I don’t mind OBL, but of the shows I’d much rather again when driving from hospital to hospital to The Extra Point Show, and even Howard and Jeremy. Honestly, you guys who are funny keep me laughing, reminding me it’s a game and it’s week 1. it’s so easy to get too amped, but I competed when young and dumb enough as an adult I powerlifting until 33. The longer I competed, the more I realized it’s just managing It and having fun. Heck, I’m not on the field and have no control so enjoy it. As the ABC guy said decades ago, it’s the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. For me the agony is going to come later so why worry about it. Were going to do it boys, and 18 weeks is just a prelude to the real dance.

Beast (one of my more likable or XMen), I just can’t see 11 wins. I know you were speaking to the range, but I just see an avg team that beats mediocre teams, but can’t hold up against playoff caliber teams. I don’t see them beating the Colts, Bengals, Ravens, Packers, the Fish once, and us twice. They can’t win all the other games. That’s why put a ceiling at 9-8.

619, sorry I didn’t see this yesterday, Especially with a shout out so thank you brother. For those who stated the D Line, I concur. It’s hard to say Von vs. Oliver because the unit is so intertwined. Von taking doubles and still getting to Stafford just harassing him even if only a lack of sacks. It’s pressures and hurries that gives Dr. Poyer and Mr. Hyde their INTS. It’s Settle especially who can lock us those running lanes. This will take the pressure off a no Tre secondary. I guess I’m just expecting the offense to be very good, which is a beautiful thing to just expect an explosive Offense. I’d put $ on JA17 having. 300 yard game, three passing TD’s, and maybe even a rushing one (although I’d rather Moss take it in if he gets a jersey that night). They never dress three, but that will be something I’m looking for Thursday. I expect Motor and Cook as I think they’ve been stashing him in the preseason, but if we have Moss dress, it will indicate what type of offense we will use that night. I prefer that not that I want a 1980’s offense, but a dynamic offense where we dictate to the defense what they have to do. Cook is pretty much an extra WR that has some jiggle to him. I just opened this thread now, and that was exactly my thoughts. Yardage is fun to look at when you see the Bills ranked 6th in rushing, but only 9th in passing. The key is the overall was 3rd in pts., and 5th in overall yards. DVOA makes much more sense. I do want to see a more effective running game, but I just mean when they decide to run with everyone not named Allen. I’m hopeful Allen keeps his running in his back pocket until the Chiefs and Packers. Anyone who has eyes knows we had an effective passing game last year, but still we only ranked 9th.
