  1. Dan, I loved Madden as well. He really did change NFL announcing, but so did Cosell. I really do like Nantz.
  2. How old is Brady, and have the rules since he started been changed for safer conditions for QB’s. So yes, I think the way the NFL treats QB’s and if he and Beane really mean it to mitigate the hits, he has a chance. Do you want this to be over at 35 given in his previous 5 years, he missed 4 games when playing hero ball. Hes been hurt at times with the repeated UCL and both shoulder and chest, he managed his way through it. He’s done nothing but improve with every year. My point is we don’t need anyone until at least Allen is say 33-34. Not a backup, but a four year developmental guy. We can let a good talent marinate for two three years. Go old school and not through an youngin in there. Lets keep building up every other offensive and defensive position including the lines over the years.
  3. Thanks Doc. This crap about Allen’s window is closing as well as the Bills is just that.. CRAP. Elway’s Broncos finally won his last two years in the league. Our window closes when Super Allen retires. That will be about a bakers dozen years from now.
  4. We just need a reliable veteran for at least 6 years. The Bridgewaters of the world. Can get you 2-2 in a 4 game stretch. Not an untested rookie. That’s a historic mistake. If we’re going to spend a little $ on a reliable backup, I’m fine as Trubisky and others are fine. I don’t care about Barkley on the PS as he’s probably good for the room. In about 6 years when the year is right we draft a developmental guy. That would be Josh’s 12th year as a starter. We would have three years to develop maybe not the next Josh, but at least the next starting QB. That’s 15 years of SuperAllen. I couldn’t think of a better 15 years. The next hopefully really good QB can hold us over and we’ll see. A developmental guy is a waste of a resource right now. We keep building up and restocking this team over the next decade. Skill players and linemen come and go. Maybe we finally pull out O Line together as some of these guys last a long time.
  5. Badoll, I don’t always agree with you, but I do here. We’ll written my fellows Bills fan.
  6. AB, thanks for sharing. We really are special and so nice when the most noteworthy NFL Announcer since Howard Cosell makes those proclamations. The Bills leadership is a class act. It makes me proud to be a member of the Bills Mafia. Billlieve!
  7. They did, but I believe the fatigue was cumulative so the impromptu travel to Detroit because of snowmageddon, and then those poor guys stuck in Chicago Nescafé’s there had to be a sequel of the first blizzard, Hamlin, barely beating Miami in the playoffs I think was due to exhaustion. Maybe Cincy still beats us, but the game most likely would’ve been more competitive. This year we’ll have both Hyde and Poyer together, a full year of off season work for Tre, the rookie still learning, and so on, we should have a fighting chance. Not a cakewalk or easy, but a chance.
  8. I’m unclear for this thread as no one knows who Terry reaches to for guidance, and if there is an inference we should drop Beane or McD, it’s just ridiculous and won’t happen. How quickly people forget 17 years of misery in the drought. Beane and McD rival Polian and Levy. They haven’t made it to the big show yet, but I believe they can do it.
  9. The Guards really limited a lot of what Dorsey could do. Sure, he needs to improve creativity, but we have some added talent and speed this year. We’ll see what happens.
  10. I’m sorry to see him go, but hopefully he’s at peace. He did live a long, full life.
  11. Spencer Brown had no last college season due to COVID, then almost no camp, then last year no ota’s, minicamp, or training camp due to back and neck injuries which is the metaphoric Achilles heel for an O Lineman. Im not making apologies or excuses for him. I’m simply stating facts and this off season he can participate in all of it, and is most likely healthy. Kramer has this off season to work with him and advance his development. That’s why McBeane continue to support him. They are not quick to pass judgment as his raw talent got him through his rookie season and he put powered everyone. His RAS score is 100. That’s what Beane, McD, and Dorsey, and Kroger see. Now another poor year and there are no excuses and you’ll hear no argument from me. I’ve been wrong before like I was ready to give up on Lnox when he finally put it together with his hands and tied the league in 9 touchdown catches two years ago. The staff was more loyal to him than I. You guys have no argument from me on our guards in 22. Bates and Boettger are nothing but backups. I have cautious optimism on McGovern and Mt. O Cyrus. This coupled with faster backs and a 6’5” F TE/Slot WR can be the very thing to provide hope this year. I like many wish we had D. Hop, but that ship sailed. We’ll have to make the most of our current stable of Diggs, DK squared for 12, Davis, Sherfield, Harty, and Shakir. It’s almost odd to say a team that was #2 and #3 in two important offensive categories to think we can be better. The defense is more about our draft, free agency, and a full year for Tre to get better.
  12. “We’ll Mr. Kelly, do you have any aliases, yeah they call me Tater Salad”. I don’t want to be drunk in public, I want to be drunk in a bar. I still love this famous Ron White Schlick.
  13. One of the ultimate man’s movies in Tombstone.
  14. This is a make it year for Epenesa and Basham, and seriously doubt Oliver will be able to do enough to extend. I’m a little surprised they didn’t choose to trade him while there was value.
  15. Pete: Not towards you, but him… As of a team gives a rat’s ars wherher a player follows c, y, z on social media. mgmt could care less. He’s an idiot.
  16. So you're planning on living to 200? Good genes. 😜🏈🦬 Im not doing the YouTube ticket as I go to this one wing joint where there is a bunch of guys and gals that are fans of different teams. It’s fun and 1/4 mile away. Having a couple of pops isn’t a big deal in moderation.
  17. It’s around $5 a month when I started and you can cancel pretty much anytime. It’s not that big a deal. I use as I like some of the nbc shows and I typically watch them the next morning at 5 at the gym without commercials. I wouldn’t stress over it. You’d pay the same for a Starbucks.
  18. BB, thank you for sharing and you’re a good guy so I’m so glad you made it. I post, but if you guys haven’t noticed I don’t initiate a lot of threads. I’ll leave that to others. Most are good guys here some a little more passionate than others, but this is one topic that needed to be discussed. I assumed several skate past the BN articles as they place that charge wheras Syracuse, Rochester, and Toronto do not. It’s not a cut, just I haven’t lived in Buffalo since 91, so I don’t feel the need to read the rest of the paper. I appreciate the well wishes. At the end of the day, we’re all family, and whether it’s a donation, showing up for a minute to the tribute, or just a kind post is the right thing to do. If anyone possibly knows the Benitende family, please when it’s right, let them know the Mafia is thinking of them.
  19. Guys: Im on my phone and not able to attach the link, but just toggle to the main page and read the “Sophia the Fierce” article in the BN. If you don’t shed a tear, you’re dead or have no heart. Im so sorry for the Benitende family loss for such a brave little girl. I couldn’t imagine losing my daughter at 9. I’m going to donate to this fund for the family as it’s a nice cause. Make up you’re own minds, but read the article and thanks to Elam for making the end of a life so little a bit more bright in her last year. If we are really family “Mafia” I hope the locals can show some support as there must be some type of memorial for this little angel.
  20. His Bills bit is so hilarious especially for people from Buffalo. My sons grew up in Tampa, but they love the Bills so loved these references. You referenced Karen and all I could think of is this… In all seriousness, I’ve read bits pieces of the Mafia logo starting around Stevie, but enjoyed this story and the backdrop. We really are a family. Not everything is great, but we stick together like a family.
  21. Exactly Turk. The early speculation is from $226 to $254 to 7. There are various ways to extend and this thread screams of fear mongering. We haven’t even started training camp. We are 10-6, 13-3, 11-6, and then 13-3, but the sky is falling. Ridiculous. You and everyone else on this board have zero clue what will be done to effectively manage the cap including me. What I do believe in is McBeane. We will have another playoff year, and then see what happens. There is no such thing as a super team.
  22. Very well written and thoughtful and agreed on all points.
  23. McGivern, he’ll anyone is better than Saffold, worse than a Jamaica NY subway turnstyle, and Mount OCyrus looks very promising. Spencer Brown as I’ve written several times had back and neck issues all off qseason last year, and no preparation prior to his rookie year due to COVID. The year before he had no college season as it was again due to COVID. He should be fine this year.
  24. ‘Thanks Diggs. Beat me to this silly take. I read this and thought ‘Riiiigggghhhht” How about no Scott. Www.zip it.com.org.
  25. Tommy has one thing to say to spags.
